Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.

Bischoff opens today’s show by speaking about the tragedy that occurred in Las Vegas several days ago. As a parent, he can’t even begin to think about what it must have been like for parents who had children at that concert. He simply can’t comprehend this mindless act of violence, and he sends his prayers and best wishes to all the families involved.

He also points out that there were a lot of good people who showed the best side of humanity on that night, and we mustn’t forget about those individuals. Whether it be the volunteers on the ground who helped get injured people to hospitals or the police force who took down the shooter, they all deserve a tremendous amount of respect for the work they did that night.

Hausman mentions that Bray Wyatt may soon be debuting a ‘Sister Abigail’ alter-ego and he asks Bischoff for his opinion on that. Bischoff says that this type of character and storyline doesn’t interest him at all because it comes off as completely unbelievable. He was never a fan of ‘fantasy’ type characters but he also admits that’s only his taste.

Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.

Bischoff comments on the promo segment between Roman Reigns and John Cena from this week’s RAW, where Cena brought up Reigns’ past failed drug test. Bischoff says that he’s been thinking about this all day, and he’s still not really sure what he makes of it.

He says part of him loves the fact that WWE is pushing the boundaries and moving away from the ‘cookie cutter’ style of promos, but the other part of him thinks WWE crossed a line by bringing this up. He thinks there were other ways to elicit a similar response from fans, and digging that deep into the dirt just wasn’t necessary.

Hausman asks Bischoff for his opinion on GFW releasing Jeff Jarrett from his position in the company. Bischoff says he likes hanging out and having a couple of beers with Jeff Jarrett but in all honesty, Jarrett was a mid-level talent during his in-ring career.

In addition, Jarrett hasn’t proven to be a successful businessman either. Bischoff says that Jarrett understands how to tell a good story in a wrestling match better than most peers, but he hasn’t proven himself able to successfully build and brand a wrestling promotion.

Bischoff is joined on today’s show by his co-host Nick Hausman.

Bischoff says he wasn’t surprised to see Lesnar retain his Universal Title at SummerSlam because he wasn’t buying into the rumours that Lesnar was going to drop the Title and head to UFC. Dave Meltzer is now reporting that WWE plans on having Lesnar take on Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 34, but Bischoff would personally rather have Cena take on Reigns at ‘Mania.

He thinks it’s strange that WWE’s doing Cena/Reigns & Lesnar/Strowman now instead of saving those matches for WrestleMania, because he thinks fans would get behind those matches more than Lesnar/Reigns. In spite of his thoughts on this matter, he’s happy that WWE is at least planning months in advance so they can suitably serve these two men and build a convincing and intriguing storyline.

Bischoff comments on the rumoured backstage heat on Baron Corbin. Apparently WWE has been upset with Corbin’s use of social media, and Bichoff says that’s why he stays away from texting or tweeting about business because text is easily misinterpreted. He also points out that WWE loves their talents to utilize social media, and it can be difficult for heels to do that without getting into a dispute from time to time.

Today’s show will be a question and answer session with Bischoff.

One listener writes into the show and asks Bischoff what he considers to be the new key performance indicator for professional wrestling, since television ratings are starting to become out of date. Bischoff thinks that’s a great question and he’s not really sure if the answer. Bischoff says that the style of professional wrestling that we see today requires different things from the performers, and finishing moves aren’t nearly as ‘effective’ as they have been in years prior. Fans seem to enjoy multiple false finishes in matches, and this devalues finishing moves. He believes the devaluation of finishing moves is a result of the change in the in-ring product over the last two decades.

The next listener asks Bischoff what it was like to be a guest referee. Bischoff says that he hated it, and he always felt very uncomfortable. Being a professional wrestling referee is an art within itself, and it takes a lot of time and practice in order to master. He points out that a good referee does more than count to 3, they direct the match and are as important to the match’s execution as the two talents involved.
