Welcome to the fastest hour on television, 205 Live!

Tonight’s 205 Live is set to feature a birthday celebration for the former Cruiserweight Champion, Kalisto! It seems unlikely the celebration will go undisturbed by the current Champion, Enzo Amore. The two will go head-to-head on Sunday night for the gold at Survivor Series, so both men will look to leave tonight with momentum.

Beyond that, Cedric Alexander and Rich Swann will reportedly respond to Jack Gallagher and Brian Kendrick as this rivalry continues on. Will they look for a peace treaty of sorts, or will they take the fight to the heels? Let us know your thoughts in the comments and on the Ringside Talk app. Enjoy the show!

Block 1:

Taz opens today’s show by diving right into his analysis of last night’s TLC PPV. He says that he wasn’t overly fond of his show, even though all the talents worked hard.

He says he would have preferred if Kurt Angle would have respectfully denied the vest when Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose offered it to him. Taz would have liked if Angle would have said something like, “Thanks, but I think I’ll wear this on my chest instead”, as he pulled out his gold medals. Taz thinks a huge part of Angle’s return is seeing Angle in all his glory, with his own theme music and wearing his singlet.

Taz thought that Elias and Jason Jordan were put in a rough spot last night, working in between Styles/Balor and the TLC main event. He thought Elias’ initial segment was repeated later in the show because McMahon was so mad at how bad it was the first time. After watching it unfold exactly the same the second time around Taz realized that his opinion was wrong in that case.

He also believes that the finish to the Elias/Jordan match was botched. He says that while WWE sometimes books controversial finishes, this finish didn’t look that way to him. If it was supposed to be a controversial finish, Elias kicked out way too early prior to the 3-count.

It can be hard to predict what’s next in WWE. For every predictable Orton – Wyatt story, there’s a Jinder Mahal. For every “Roman-Reigns wins the Rumble”, there’s a Samoa Joe challenging Brock Lesnar. It’s WWE’s nature to be unpredictable. If one thing is constant, though, it’s that cream rises to the top. There is so much young talent in WWE right now. While not everyone can win the gold, here are four superstars who will become champions.

Aiden English

This may seem an odd choice, but hear me out. You wouldn’t expect a hipster douchebag singer to be a big deal, but WWE is clearly high on the Artiste. He can handle himself on the microphone, he gets heat, and he’s only 29. That gives him a lot of time to become a champion before he calls it a day.

Ever since the Vaudevillains disbanded, English reverted to his singing ways. People boo the hell out of him, and they love it when he gets his ass kicked. He bumps like a madman, and he’ll do well to get a babyface over.

It might not be now. It might not be next year, and it might not even be with this current character. Still, I firmly believe that in 5 years time, English will have held gold, be it Intercontinental, United States, or even the WWE Championship itself.

While speaking to Muscle & Fitness, Triple H discussed the Mae Young Classic and revealed that he would like to see the event return on a year bases. Triple H made the below comments when asked about it returning.

“I do. Not 100% sure what that is. In some ways, I think the Cruiserweights is a different platform that can have its own distinct individual show. I don’t know if the women need that right now. The Cruiserweights, they have a match here or there on RAW, and then they have their own division and their own show on 205. With the women, you have opportunities on RAW, you have opportunities on SmackDown, you have opportunities at NXT. Hopefully, over time you’ll have opportunities in the U.K. You’ll have opportunities in different localized markets. Those are the things, for me, that it begins to spread around.”

“I would love for the Mae Young to be this recurring yearly, or whatever it is, this recurring thing that is the opportunity for the girls that are out there grinding, for the girls that are out there working at the little armories and the little places and dreaming about that pot of gold to be able to jump on the rainbow and start to take the ride. And for us to scan around the world every year and say, ‘Who do we want to look at this year, and give them that opportunity? Who’s really improved since last year to take this opportunity? Who’s that next level? Who’s that next generation of stars?’ To me, that’s where something like the Mae Young Classic becomes a huge opportunity. And if it’s my decision, yeah it will be exactly that. An opportunity that keeps coming back over and over.”
