Robbie E took to his Twitter account to announced his departure from Impact Wrestling.

He wrote, “Thank you @impactwrestling for the last 7 plus years that have changed my life forever and I’ll always appreciate… on to the next…”

This announcement comes after he confirmed only two weeks ago that he was 100% with Impact Wrestling (Global Force Wrestling).

“I am still 1000% with GFW. I think it is just as simple as Jeff came back, he’s back in charge and what he wanted to do is revamp the product. Now he is finally going in a direction that shows stability and the right people are there and the story lines are going to start to add up and revamp the whole look. New colors, new entrance way, new ropes and of course some new faces and with having new faces you’ve got to give the old faces a break. Myself, Bramm, Zima have kind of been taken off TV to be brought back and the cool thing for me is that I am going to be better than ever.”

While speaking to Ring Rust Radio, Johnny Impact was asked about the rumors about Global Force Wrestling and what’s going on behind the scenes. He was also asked how does it affect him and how does he go about trying to block out all the whispers. Johnny responded with the following:

“Man some of the best advice I got in wrestling I got from Matt Cappotelli who’s dealt so much stuff, so much hardship, adversity and always remained positive. His biggest advice to me was worry about the things you can control, don’t worry about the things you can’t because that will drive you crazy. So, I take that to me meaning I can control what I do in the ring, I can control how jacked I am, how tan I am, how my hair looks, how I talk, how I walk, but if the company is sold it’s going to be on a different network or its going to go bankrupt. On some level, worrying about that takes energy and I don’t want to put my energy into worrying about something that’s ultimately not my decision anyways. So I’ve become good at just cutting that off and not worrying about it because it’s either going to happen or it’s not going to happen but regardless I know I am going to land on my feet because I’m focusing on the things that I can control. I’m a valuable asset to GFW, Lucha Underground, AAA, WWE and even Ring of Honor. Who knows, maybe Johnny Honor may make an impact too. By worrying about just me, it eliminates that worry.”

PWInsider spoke with Impact Wrestling’s Josh Mathews about the disappearance of the Global Force Wrestling name on the promotional material sent out today. Mathews made the following remarks about the change:

“You know, I wish I could tell you everything and tell you that ‘this is what it’s going to be’, because I think we did a great job in January of getting rid of TNA, of getting rid of that brand and becoming Impact, then becoming GFW,” said Matthews. “Now, you’re right, if you look at that graphic, it says Impact Bound for Glory, and that’s the brand we are bringing to Ottawa. Those are the tapings that is coming to Ottawa. That’s the show that’s coming, Impact. I know that doesn’t really answer a whole lot of questions, but that’s what we’re doing. That’s what we’re bringing up there. That’s what you’re going to see and after what you see on November 5th, to be determined, I suppose.”

Mathews also mentioned that there has been discussions earlier today about possibly changing the name for the planned Global Wrestling Network stream service, however nothing had been decided in that regard.

Anthem Sports is once again referring to their wrestling company as Impact Wrestling and not Global Force Wrestling. PWInsider reports that they have reached out for comment regarding the change but have not received any response back.

It was noted last week that when Jeff Jarrett and Impact Wrestling merged to become Global Force wrestling, the two sides did not completely work out all the final details. It’s looking like Anthem will move away from using the GFW name now that Jarrett is on a leave of absence.

As reported earlier today, Global Force Wrestling teased that they would be announcing the location this Monday for the upcoming Bound for Glory pay-per-view event.

PWInsider reports that GFW is working on finalizing the plans to hold the annual event in Canada, possibly somewhere in the Toronto area. The word going around that this was a call made by Anthem Sports as they are based in the area. If they event is in fact held there, the company will hold the post-Impact Wrestling episode tapings there as well.

SmackDown Live Superstar Shelton Benjamin recently did an interview with WWE.com where he discussed several topics, like what it was like to return to the WWE after seven years, and about teaming up with Chad Gable.

Shelton says that he is still trying to get used to being in WWE after working on improving himself for the past seven years.

“It’s all kind of surreal, and I don’t feel like it’s hit me yet. Since I left the WWE, I moved to improve myself as a performer and come back. I really didn’t expect it to take seven years. So, it’s been a long road and I’m still trying to get used to it. It’s all very surreal. Being back with WWE is an emotional high and a professional high. So far, so good.”

Shelton was released from WWE along with several other superstars back in April of 2010. After his release, Shelton made a return to the independent circuit and wrestled for various promotions like World Wrestling Council, Ring of Honor, NJPW and has also worked for Global Force Wrestling and several other promotions.

Shelton made his return on August 17, 2017 at the WWE and teamed up with Chad Gable. Shelton says that Chad is a tremendous athlete like his former partner Charlie Haas.

“Without a doubt. Chad is a great athlete, just like Charlie. Before I even get into that, though, Charlie Haas is, to this day, still my best friend. He’s my brother. We talk all the time. WWE created family when they put us together. We worked hard together and he helped push me. When you insert Chad Gable, obviously, there is going to be the comparisons to Charlie. I don’t like to make that comparison because they’re two different people. This isn’t The World’s Greatest Tag Team, this isn’t American Alpha — we are something completely different. But, obviously, there are similarities. They’re both tremendous athletes. They both have great drive, and even in the past couple of weeks I’ve seen Gable show signs of the intensity that Charlie had.”

During today’s Global Force Wrestling Media call, John Gaburick commented on Alberto El Patron’s status with the company.

“We have plans for Alberto, we’re excited that he’s gonna be coming back at Bound For Glory.”

The Bound for Glory event takes place on Sunday, November 5th. As of this writing, there is no opponent for El Patron.

PWInsider reports that Alberto El Patron still has 6-8 months left on his contract with Global Force Wrestling.

While there were plans for Patron to work the November 5th Bound for Glory event, there has also been speculation that he could be done with the company altogether. It will be interesting to see if Patron returns to GFW television at Bound for Glory of the television tapings that take place that same week.
