WWE announced that Sasha Banks will team with Finn Balor for the upcoming Mixed Match Challenge series.

Here is the updated list of teams for the show:

* Bobby Roode & Charlotte
* Braun Strowman & Alexa Bliss
* Finn Balor & Sasha Banks

Mixed Match Challenge kicks off on Tuesday, January 16th directly after SmackDown Live on Facebook Watch.

Two names considered as Dean Ambrose replacements as Seth Rollins partner in the tag team slot were Finn Balor and Jason Jordan. Ultimately the company decided to go with Jordan, which mean stalling or perhaps even halting his heel turn all together. Jordan may be pushed to becoming a top babyface now.

With WWE needing to push Jordan as a top guy, there is really no other choice but to put the tag team titles on them from Cesaro & Sheamus as a way to establish Jordan’s credibility after weeks of pushing him.

Meanwhile, Balor seems to have nothing going on with his character.

Finn Balor responded to Roman Reigns’ challenge on Twitter and promised to “step over” the Intercontinental Champion.

After Reigns challenged the RAW roster to “step up” against him, Balor replied with another reference to reports that Vince McMahon doesn’t believe he’s over enough as a suitable opponent for Brock Lesnar. You can check out the exchange below:

Finn Balor On WrestleMania Dream Opponent

Finn Balor, who will be a member of RAW’s Survivor Series team next weekend, recently spoke on who he’d want to face in a dream WrestleMania match.

“There’s a lot of people I would love to face… Triple H, Undertaker, AJ Styles. Either one of them, singles, one-on-one. Listen, I could wrestle eight matches at WrestleMania if I wanted to. I’m fit.”

Eight matches might be a little much, but one would be nice. Balor missed out on his first WrestleMania last year due to being out with an injury, and hopefully this year, WWE will have something good planned for our favorite Demon King.

Triple H Challenges Jinder Mahal?

WWE’s upcoming tour of India got a little more interesting tonight. Triple H took to Twitter and seemingly challenged former WWE Champion Jinder Mahal for the December 9th show in New Delhi.

Another interesting note is that Triple H would be replacing Kevin Owens, as Owens was originally scheduled to face Mahal on the tour. Whether or not this has anything to to with Owens and Sami Zayn being sent home from the current European Tour is unknown. It’s also not clear if Owens is even still scheduled to be a part of the tour, but WWE’s website is still showing him as being part of the show.

Another match that is scheduled for this show is a mixed tag match between Sasha Banks and Kalisto who will team up to face Alexa Bliss and Enzo Amore.

Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that one of the ideas WWE pitched for a replacement at Sunday’s TLC event was to have a Bullet Club reunion featuring AJ Styles, Finn Balor, Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows to take on a team of four other wrestlers. Apparently Vince McMahon wasn’t a fan of this idea and shot the idea down.

As previously reported, Chris Jericho was another idea pitched as Wyatt’s replacement but Jericho had other commitments with his band Fozzy and couldn’t work the event.

Cesaro On The Brass Ring

Back in 2014 on an episode of Stone Cold Steve Austin’s live podcast on WWE Network, Vince McMahon made his now-infamous “grabbing the brass ring” comment about the lack of ambition in WWE’s “millennial” locker room. A lot of people took that as an insult, including Cesaro.

McMahon alluded to Cesaro not getting over and making it farther on the main roster due to “being Swiss”. Cesaro spoke about the incident during a recent interview.

“I was actually listening to it on the drive to the next city…I was not very happy about it to say the least because I couldn’t disagree more. The next day I walked into his office and said ‘challenge accepted.’ That’s how I deal with things – head on…I’d like to say I’ve been doing pretty good so far.”

A lot of fans see Cesaro as someone who should still be higher on the card and in the main event and title picture due to his extraordinary skill in the ring, but at least he seems happier now than he did for a while after that comment was made.

Finn Balor’s Loss To Kane On RAW

One of the more shocking (and downright stupid) moments on RAW last night was Kane beating Finn Bálor. Just 24 hours before, Bálor and AJ Styles put on the match of the night at TLC, and then, he’s losing to a part-time, small-town mayoral candidate in Kane.

On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that his sources backstage in WWE were scratching their heads just as much as fans were, with one saying:

There is no explanation, there is no defense, he (Vince McMahon) just whiffed.

The general consensus is that WWE feels it needs to make Kane look strong heading into a match or mini-program with Braun Strowman, but did it really have to be at Bálor’s expense, especially after the Styles match and with the rumor going around that he and Brock Lesnar are on a collision course for the Universal Title at The Royal Rumble?

Kane has been around long enough that he doesn’t need to be fed top stars to look legitimate. Bálor just came off of a dumbass feud with Bray Wyatt, had a stellar match with Styles, and then got sacrificed to a 50+ year old man for no logical reason. And, people wonder why WWE has such a hard time maintaining credible, stable stars on their roster.

Bryan Alvarez of F4WOnline indicated on Twitter that WWE is working on major creative changes for Monday’s episode of RAW next week.

Creative also working on big changes for RAW with Roman out.

Avlarez also noted that Finn Balor and AJ Styles are expected to be given a lot of time for their match at Sunday’s WWE TLC PPV.

Even though plans were changed and Finn Balor is no longer challenging Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship at Survivor Series, he is still lobbying for the match to take place.

While speaking to metro.co.uk, Balor mentioned that he wants to go after Lesnar once his feud with Bray Wyatt comes to an end.

“Once I handle Bray Wyatt, I need to be going after the Universal Championship which I was never beaten for. Yes, Brock Lesnar is the current champion, but make sure you don’t forget that I relinquished the title due to injury, I was never beaten, and I definitely think that I deserve a title shot.”

Balor continued, “Right now, there’s a lot of interesting matches that could happen in WWE right now, but for me personally I think that Finn Balor vs Brock Lesnar is the most interesting match from a fans perspective that can happen right now. It’s something that has never happened before, with completely different styles inside and out of the ring. This could be a really big spectacle.”

WWE Employee Wishes Matt Hardy Dead On Social Media?

The Hardy family just can’t seem to catch a break these days. Last night, a WWE employee named Julie Youngberg retweeted a fan’s comment about Matt Hardy being the 5th man on The Miz’s team at TLC. Youngberg is a seamstress for the promotion that has supposedly been employed by the company for decades; she is also the ex-wife of Hardy friend Shannon Moore.

If you know anything about The Hardy family, you know it didn’t take Reby Hardy, Matt’s wife, to verbally eviscerate this woman.

The two swapped tweets back and forth for several hours last night, and it got kind of ugly. Matt Hardy appeared to have a response of his own to this woman, as well.

All joking aside, WWE needs to handle this. Ms. Youngberg makes no bones about being a WWE employee on her social media accounts, and to threaten other employees and their families is a fireable offense where I am from. I’d be surprised if she has her seamstress position too much longer, especially with so many news sites picking up this story today.

Finn Bálor On Wanting His Title Back

As we all remember, Finn Bálor won the WWE Universal Title as last year’s SummerSlam, only to have to relinquish the title the next night due to a shoulder injury. And, he wants his title back. In a recent interview, Bálor talked about facing current champion Brock Lesnar after his program with Bray Wyatt is over.

“Listen, I don’t shy away from a fight for one second and I would absolutely love to be in there with Brock Lesnar. I would love to get in there with The Undertaker and Triple H too, these are guys that have been active at the top of the game for the last 20 years. They’re the type of guys I want to be in the ring with. We talk about stepping up and taking things to the next level, and I think that’s what I need to do next. Once I handle Bray Wyatt, I need to be going after the Universal Championship which I was never beaten for. Yes, Brock Lesnar is the current champion, but make sure you don’t forget that I relinquished the title due to injury, I was never beaten, and I definitely think that I deserve a title shot.

“For me as a fan growing up I loved David vs Goliath style matches. Right now, there’s a lot of interesting matches that could happen in WWE right now, but for me personally I think that Finn Balor vs Brock Lesnar is the most interesting match from a fans perspective that can happen right now. It’s something that has never happened before, with completely different styles inside and out of the ring. This could be a really big spectacle.”
