WWE announced that Sheamus and Cesaro will defend their RAW tag team championships against The Hardy Boyz on Monday’s episode of RAW. WWE wrote the following regarding the match:
Just one week after losing the Raw Tag Team Championship in a brutal Steel Cage Match at WWE Extreme Rules, The Hardy Boyz invoke their rematch clause against new titleholders Cesaro & Sheamus this Monday night, live on Raw.
Last Monday, The Celtic Warrior boasted that Matt & Jeff were “sitting at home, licking their wounds — Jeff gluing in his false tooth — just dreaming about their rematch.” This Monday night, the dream becomes a reality much sooner than the champions likely anticipated.
Can The Hardy Boyz reclaim the titles they won during their triumphant return at WrestleMania, or will Cesaro & Sheamus continue to raise the figurative bar in Team Red’s tandem division?
Brock Lesnar has also been announced to return to the show to address Samoa Joe’s attack on Paul Heyman.
As many of you noticed, Finn Balor was not used on this week’s episode of RAW. It’s believed that he was kept off television to sell the impact of the Fatal 5-Way match at Sunday’s Extreme Rules event. Balor did appear after RAW went off the air to make the save for Seth Rollins who was being attacked by Samoa Joe and Bray Wyatt.
WWE announced that Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns will open tonight’s episode of RAW.
Also confirmed for tonight’s show, The Miz will be celebrating his Intercontinental Championship win after beating Dean Ambrose for the championship at the Extreme Rules pay-per-view event.

WWE heads to Baltimore, MD for tonight’s Extreme Rules event. Here are a couple of notes and possible spoilers for tonight’s show:
With only six matches announced for the card, the Fatal 5-Way main event is expected to receive a lot of time.
While there is no pre-show match announced for the show, it is very possible that they either add a cruiserweight match or R-Truth vs. Goldust.
With The Hardy Boyz winning every match heading to their bout against Sheamus and Cesaro, it is possible that they drop the titles.
The Drifter is expected to attack The Miz because he “owes him one”.
Per betting odds, Samoa Joe is expected to win the Fatal 5-Way. It should be noted that betting odds are not always correct.
Check back here at 7PM ET for our play-by-play coverage of tonight’s show. We will also have a Extreme Rules discussion on our new social media site, RingsideTalk.net.
Samoa Joe defeated Finn Balor, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns in a Fatal 5-Way match at tonight’s Extreme Rules event for the opportunity to face Brock Lesnar at the Great Balls of Fire event.
Great Balls of Fire will take place on July 9, 2017 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Smart Money bets are now coming in for Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules events. Unless there is a drastic shift over night, The Miz is expected to leave the event as the new WWE Intercontinental Champion.
In addition to that, Cesaro and Sheamus are expected to win the tag team titles. We will keep you updated if there are any major shifts tomorrow, but here are the possible outcomes:
Samoa Joe evens (favorite)
Seth Rollins 5/4
Finn Balor 5/1
Bray Wyatt 12/1
Roman Reigns 16/1
Neville 1/7 (favorite)
Austin Aries 10/3
The Miz 1/8 (favorite)
Dean Ambrose 9/2
Cesaro and Sheamus 1/3 (favorites)
Matt and Jeff Hardy 15/8
Alexa Bliss 8/15 (favorite)
Bayley 11/8
Dean Ambrose is scheduled to defend his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz at Extreme Rules with the stipulation being that the title will change hands should Ambrose get disqualified.
It’s being speculated that Ambrose could get disqualified and lose the championship at the hands of Elias Samson. The Belief is that to follow up on one of the lyrics to his song this past week, which included the phrase “an eye for an eye.” If you remember, The Miz attacked Samson during his debut match and is likely the person to whom the “an eye for an eye” line is directed at.
Ahead of tonight’s RAW, WWE announced that Noam Dar will team up with Alicia Fox to take on Sasha Banks and Rich Swann in a mixed tag team match at Sunday’s Extreme Rules event. Here is the updated card for the show:
Fatal 5 Way to Crown #1 Contender to WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar
Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe vs. Finn Balor vs. Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns
Kendo Stick on a Pole Match for the RAW Women’s Title
Bayley vs. Alexa Bliss
WWE Intercontinental Title Match
The Miz vs. Dean Ambrose
The title can change hands on a disqualification.
Submission Match for the WWE Cruiserweight Title
Austin Aries vs. Neville
Steel Cage match for RAW Tag Team Title Match
Cesaro and Sheamus vs. The Hardys
Alicia Fox & Noam Dar vs. Sasha Banks & Rich Swann
Russo is joined on today’s show by Jeff Lane.
Earlier this week, Dave Meltzer tweeted out that RAW’s rating last week was low due to the fact that the show wasn’t taped live since they were overseas. Russo doesn’t understand why these guys can never admit that a show sucks. The ratings are going down every week, and this week’s ratings weren’t an anomaly. Meltzer needs to stop making excuses for WWE.
Lane also points out that a fan asked Meltzer if WWE had given any thought to the Tag Team Title match main eventing the Extreme Rules PPV. Meltzer answered by saying that those meetings haven’t taken place yet. Russo says that it must be nice for Meltzer to be invited to all of WWE’s meetings. Russo says that Meltzer doesn’t have a clue what he’s talking about.
Russo points out that this is the same guy who said that A.J. Styles would be moving to RAW in the latest Superstar Shakeup and that obviously didn’t happen. Meltzer didn’t issue an apologize to his error, and for the fact that he’s ripping off all of his subscribers. He says that all these dirt sheet writers just talk out of their asses.
