WWE appears to be interested in signing Fred Yehi to a development contract with the company.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that Fred Yehi is expected to be the next major indie name that the company wants to bring in. In the past, Yehi has been a major part of the WWN shows, working FIP, EVOLVE and Style battle.

Kane On WWE & Politics

As many already know, Kane, also known as Glenn Jacobs, is running for Mayor in Knox County, Tennessee. In a recent interview, The Big Red Machine said that WWE played a role in preparing him for the political arena.

A lot of it is what I’ve seen outside the ring with my travels around the world. Also, I’ve been in WWE for 22 years and reached a point in my career where, within the locker room, I’m one of the people that guys come to if something needs to be discussed. I’m also one of the people that the WWE executives, if there is a problem in the locker room, I’m one people that is consulted about that. They ask is there is anything that can be done and what do I think should be done about it. I also have a little bit of input into certain areas of our business, because they respect my opinion. As far as people say, “oh that stuff in the ring,” … that’s the fun stuff. I always tell people that’s separate. It’s actually my involvement in WWE that I’ve found hopefully will help me out in the political realm.

Ethan Page Parts Ways With EVOLVE

Earlier today, one of EVOLVE’s top stars parted ways with the company. Both sides say that it’s an amicable split, and Ethan Page says that he hopes to dig deeper into the indie wrestling scene and survive on his own reputation.

Well, this situation keeps getting uglier and uglier by the minute, it seems. FloSports, the parent network of FloSlam, which streams all of WWN’s live events, is now saying they will not air the scheduled EVOLVE Wrestling events this weekend. And, along with not airing this weekend’s events, FloSlam will not be airing any of EVOLVE’s future events.

The following statement was posted on FloSlam’s website:

“Planned coverage of WWN events will no longer be available on FloSlam. This includes EVOLVE, SHINE, FIP, Style Battle, and ACW events. We know fans are excited If about these events and we’re disappointed to share that we will no longer provide the coverage you deserve and expect. If you’d like a refund, please email support@flosports.tv with the subject line “Floslam Refund Request” and our team will assist you.”

EVOLVE 92 and EVOLVE 93 are scheduled this weekend in Michigan and Illinois, but it’s being reported that FloSports informed employees planning to travel to the events that they were not to go to EVOLVE and work the shows.

Gabe Sapolsky took to Twitter to let people know what was going on.

He also said they would try to get the weekend’s events up on WWN Live as soon as possible.

As we reported yesterday, FloSports has filed a lawsuit against WWN, citing that the company misrepresented their financial data when the parties struck a deal. Today, WWN’s attorney tried to shift the blame to FloSports, saying that the streaming service failed to promote their events as promised.

The way this is playing out, it’s really the talent that is going to suffer, as well as the fans who have already paid for a FloSlam subscription to see EVOLVE. Plus, this looks really, really petty on the part of FloSports. Kind of like, “Hey, you breached our contract, so we’ll just do it, too!”

We’ll keep everyone updated on this ongoing situation between FloSports and WWN.

WWN Live announced that Cedric Alexander will be replacing Davey Richards at weekend EVOLVE events near Detroit and Chicago.

Alexander is scheduled to face EVOLVE Champion Zack Sabre Jr. in a non-title match at EVOLVE 92 on Friday in Livonia, Michigan. He will then face Fred Yehi at the following night in Summit, Illinois. Both matches will be for the live crowd only.

Apparently Davey Richards is not retiring from professional wrestling after all.

EVOLVE announced that Davey Richards will be making a return to the promotion. For those of you not aware, Richards recently announced that he was leaving Global Force Wrestling to become a doctor and he was having difficulty balancing the demands of medical school and his wrestling career.
