It was widely expected and the announcement was officially made early Friday afternoon: Eva Marie has left the WWE. In a statement on WWE.com, it was revealed the company and Eva Maria “mutually agreed to contractually part ways as of today, Aug. 4, 2017.” Her departure comes almost a year since her last appearance on SmackDown Live.

Eva Marie was drafted to the SmackDown Live roster and had a new gimmick where a voiceover would introduce her to the ring but she would manage a way to avoid physically competing in her matches. She was scheduled to participate in a six-woman tag-team match with Alexa Bliss and Natalya against Becky Lynch, Naomi, and Carmella at SummerSlam 2016, but she was legitimately suspended. Nikki Bella replaced Eva Marie in the match.

Eva Marie was never seen on SmackDown Live again but she was still featured on E!’s Total Divas. For the upcoming season of Total Divas, scheduled to premiere this fall, she will not be part of the returning cast.

In a tweet, Eva Marie called her goodbye “bittersweet” and thanked her fans for the four years she spent with the WWE.

During her time in the WWE, Eva Marie was widely criticized by fans for her lack of in-ring talent. She did spend time in NXT, where she had shown improvement. She even competed against Bayley for the NXT Women’s Championship.

It was reported back in March via PWInsider that Eva Marie would not be returning to WWE, however those reports appear to be false.

Eva Marie appeared on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live and indicated that she could still pop up on RAW or SmackDown Live at anytime. She mentioned that her return may not be in the near future as she is still working on two filming projects, but the door is still open for her return.

When asked about reports that Lana has received her gimmick on SmackDown, she said that she couldn’t confirm that but hopes that’s not the case.

While recent reports would suggest that Lana inherited the gimmick that was originally planned for Eva Marie, Lana is saying otherwise. During an interview with USA Today, she claims that she is still using the “Ravishing Russian” gimmick she previously had while she was managing Rusev.

“I’m the same ‘Ravishing Russian’ that you’ve always known. It’s funny to me when I hear people say that it’s a new character. I embody ‘Ravishing.’ I come out in the most ravishing dress. I have a ravishing entrance. I’m ravishing people’s hearts. I was managing Rusev and wearing a suit because if you’re managing someone or an agent in real life, you are going to wear a suit to work. Right now, I’m the focal point, I’m the one competing. If people know anything about Russians, we do things really over the top. We wear high heels everywhere. We show up in the most extravagant outfits. I am just embodying how I was raised and what I grew up in. Some people might think we’re extra, I just think we’re ravishing. I’m the same woman, I’m just going to be crushing people myself.”

Eva Marie Gone From Total Divas

It’s being reported today that Eva Marie is gone from and done with Total Divas. In a move that further strengthens rumors that All Red Everything is done with WWE as a whole, apparently producers for the E! reality show are already looking for her replacement. Charlotte is a name that has been thrown around as possibly taking her place.

It’s also being reported that while it’s unknown if Paige is returning for Season 7, Nattie, Nikki Bella, Brie Bella, and Naomi will all be back for the next season.

John Cena & Nikki Bella Removed From WWE SmackDown Live Opening

In an interesting turn of events, John Cena was noticeably absent from SmackDown Live’s opening montage tonight. I think he’s been in every one since the Superstar Shake-up, and this is the first week that people have noticed he’s missing. I rewatched just to make sure, and sure enough, he wasn’t in it.

Cena is being advertised for the blue brand’s July 4th episode, but that’s about it. He’s really not scheduled for anything WWE up until SummerSlam. He’s currently filming a movie in Atlanta and has spoken of being ready to return to action in the company.

Nikki Bella was also removed from the opening. Bella is taking time off to plan her wedding to Cena and to rehab a nagging neck injury. There is no timetable for her return to the blue brand.

WWE released an official statement stating that three of its athletes would be suspended for a period of 30 days for the first violation of WWE’s Wellness policy.Those three athletes were Paige,Alberto Del Rio and Eva Marie now all the three athletes would be suffering a 30 days suspension.

STAMFORD, Conn. — WWE has suspended Saraya-Jade Bevis (Paige) for 30 days effective tomorrow, Thursday, Aug. 18, for her first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.

However, its being reported that Del Rio has an out clause in his contract for September.
