While speaking to Tokyo Sports, Japanese Japanese wrestling legend Atsushi Onita mentioned that WWE has invited him to attend next year’s WrestleMania event in New Orleans.

Right now this should only be viewed as a rumor but we will keep you updated if WWE announces anything official. The FMW founder never worked for WWE but he did wrestle 1 match for WCW and 1 for ECW.

Taz opens today’s show by speaking about last night’s episode of Smackdown Live.

He points out that Smackdown live announcer, Greg Hamilton has stopped pausing for the audience to repeat ‘One Fall’ during his ring announcements. Taz says that as commentators and announcers, your main goal is to get the wrestlers over because they’re the stars. For this reason, it didn’t surprise Taz that Vince McMahon and WWE finally shut down Hamilton’s gimmick.

Taz says that the fans are attending WWE shows to have a good time, and they mightn’t understand why WWE would shut down something like this. He points out that once the audience starts focusing on ring announcers, that takes away from the talent who WWE are actually investing money in. For this reason, they don’t want any type of focus on announcers.

He points out that WWE is a very structured business, and working in ECW was the complete opposite of this. If an ECW performer came up with a cool idea and it started to catch on with fans, Paul Heyman would just ride with it and see how it plays out. In WWE, things don’t always work that way because if you come up with a cool idea it still mightn’t be what WWE Officials have in mind for you, so they might shut it down anyways.

Estrada, who portrayed the ECW General Manager and manager, said that he pitched the idea to Vince McMahon back in 2011, with him being the host. Estrada said that nothing came of it beyond a handshake and a thank you at the time.

Former #WWE and #ECW talent #NicoleBass passed away at the age of 52 today.

* A friend of Nicole’s made a Facebook post, seen below, on Nicole’s official page earlier and noted that she became very sick a few days ago and after being hospitalized, they were told today there was nothing else that could be done for her. Dave Meltzer reported on F4Wonline.com that Bass suffered a massive stroke earlier in the week and never recovered.

* The former pro bodybuilder and Howard Stern Show personality began working with ECW in 1998 before debuting as Sable’s bodyguard at WrestleMania 15 in 1999. Bass had a few feuds in WWE before leaving the company after filing a lawsuit claiming she was sexually assaulted by Steve “Brooklyn Brawler” Lombardi backstage. The case went to court in 2003 but was dismissed. Bass worked some indies after her WWE run but had been quiet in recent years. Meltzer also noted that she had suffered health problems for the past decade.

2 things every person on this planet deserves. 2 things very important to Nicole Bass. The past few days I, Kristen Marrone, have been posting to my girlfriends pages to try and keep her very personal life private. Rumors have been spreading around the internet about her health. A few days ago we didn’t know all of what was going on so I have been trying to keep it quiet until we had answers. Nicole values her privacy and I Respect that. Before anyone tries to take the story and twist it up and make it ugly I want to put it out there in a Respectful way. A few days ago Nicole got very sick. She was brought into the hospital and they did everything they could to help her. I have been sitting here with her in the room 24/7 since she got here making sure she was being given the best possible care. Today we learned that there is nothing else that can be done. Nicole was an amazing woman. Strong not only on the outside but inside as well. Beautiful soul and kind heart. Many people knew Nicole but few ever got close enough to know the REAL woman that she was. I got to be one of the lucky few. Not only was she my soulmate and my girlfriend but she was my best friend, my teacher and my business partner. I learned many valuable things from her and created many beautiful memories in the time we had together. ]]> WWE News: Former WWE Star is A Week Or Two Away From Being Homeless, Asks Fans For Help /former-wwe-stars-a-week-or-two-away-from-being-homeless-asks-fans-for-help/ Fri, 13 Jan 2017 08:55:05 +0000 /?p=2346 Read more]]> Former WWE, WCW and ECW star Perry Saturn three months ago announced on Twitter that he’s suffering from a Traumatic Brain Injury from the many concussions he’s suffered throughout his pro wrestling career.

Perry Saturn took to Facebook and asked fans to donate to a GoFundMe page as he’s just “a week or two” from being homeless.

This is the same campaign set up three months ago and as of this writing, they have raised $14,906 of a $100,000 goal.

The description of the GoFundMe reads as follows:-

”Perry Saturn is known the world over as one of the best sports entertainers of the 20th and 21st century. He’s been a part of ECW, WCW and the WWE.

That kind of entertainment over a 25 year career has taken a significant toll. Perry is dealing with a grade “serious” traumatic brain injury, which causes the following problems:

1) Almost constant headaches
2) Sensitivity to light
3) Brain fog – losing time, basically
4) Inability to drive or work
5) Dimentia

Perry is in a position to get good medical care, but he’s strapped financially. He can’t work and his wife Lisa is a full time caregiver, essentially. They live within driving distance of his care but they need money to pay living expenses, medical bills, and to arrange reliable transportation that can make it through the winter.

This seems like a lofty goal, we know – but keep in mind each MRI is $2,500, each test is $1,000 – the money flows fast and in the wrong direction.
