हाल ही में हुए Wrestle Mania 41 में जॉन सीना ने कोडी रोड्स को हराकर 17वीं बार WWE वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप अपने नाम की। इस मुकाबले में सीना के हील टर्न और द रॉक से जुड़ी अटकलों ने मुकाबले को और भी रोमांचक बना दिया था। हालांकि, फैंस की उम्मीदों के बावजूद फाइनल मैच में द रॉक नहीं दिखे। उनकी जगह ट्रैविस स्कॉट ने इंटरफेयर कर कोडी रोड्स की हार में अहम भूमिका निभाई। इस पर प्रतिक्रिया देते हुए केविन नैश ने बताया कि द रॉक फिल्म की शूटिंग में व्यस्त थे, जिस वजह से वह Wrestle Mania 41 का हिस्सा नहीं बन सके। Wrestle Mania 41 में जॉन सीना की बड़ी जीत और द रॉक की अनुपस्थिति ने फैंस के बीच चर्चा को हवा दी है। हर किसी के मन में यही सवाल है कि द रॉक इस अहम मुकाबले से क्यों दूर रहे। इस विषय पर रेसलिंग दिग्गज केविन नैश ने अपनी बात रखी है।

केविन नैश ने खुलासा किया है कि द रॉक Wrestle Mania 41 में इसलिए शामिल नहीं हो पाए क्योंकि वह एक मार्टिन स्कॉर्सेसी फिल्म की शूटिंग में व्यस्त थे। अपने ‘क्लिक दिस’ पॉडकास्ट में नैश ने बताया, “द रॉक पहले भी ‘हरक्यूलिस’ की शूटिंग से पहले आए थे, जहां उन्हें चोट लग गई थी और फिल्म प्रोडक्शन को 10 मिलियन डॉलर का नुकसान उठाना पड़ा था। इस बार भी स्कॉर्सेसी की फिल्म में काम करते हुए उन्हें शूटिंग से छुट्टी नहीं मिल सकी।” नैश ने यह भी कहा कि द रॉक भले ही कुछ भी कहें, लेकिन उनके पास इस बार Wrestle Mania में शामिल न होने के अलावा और कोई रास्ता नहीं था। नैश ने आगे बताया, “मेरे हिसाब से रॉक इस वक्त हवाई में शूटिंग कर रहे हैं। अगर शूटिंग शुरू नहीं भी हुई है, तो वे अभी प्री-प्रोडक्शन में जरूर व्यस्त हैं। जो भी इस फिल्म प्रोजेक्ट को संभाल रहा है, वह उन्हें रेसलिंग रिंग में उतरने की इजाजत नहीं देगा।”

फैंस की उम्मीदों पर पानी फिर गया :

WWE को इस बात की जानकारी थी कि द रॉक एक फिल्म प्रोजेक्ट में व्यस्त रहेंगे। इसके बावजूद उन्हें जॉन सीना और कोडी रोड्स की स्टोरीलाइन में प्रमुखता से शामिल करना एक हैरान करने वाला फैसला था। इससे दर्शकों को यह उम्मीद बंधी कि रेसलमेनिया में द रॉक जरूर नजर आएंगे, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं हुआ और फैंस को निराशा झेलनी पड़ी। अब केविन नैश के बयान के बाद यह साफ हो गया है कि द रॉक फिल्म की शूटिंग में व्यस्त होने के कारण इस बड़े इवेंट में हिस्सा नहीं ले सके।

21 Years Since The Rock Debuted

Friday was the 21st anniversary of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s debut in the WWE. He wrestled that night at Madison Square Garden in a traditional Survivor Series match at Survivor Series 1996, which looking back at it was a tremendous card.

Obviously, that night set in motion lots of great things for Johnson. A legendary WWE career followed by a successful, on-going run in Hollywood that has made him one of the biggest movie stars in the world.

Looking back at his WWE debut, Johnson said:

Fifth Member of Team SmackDown Confirmed

While it was widely expected, WWE officially announced Natalya as the fifth member of the women’s Team SmackDown team on Saturday morning. There had still been some talk/rumors that Paige could be revealed as the fifth member of the team, but it turns out that will not be the case.

Jinder Mahal in UFC Next Month

It’s been quite the summer for Jinder Mahal. He was quickly elevated into the main event spotlight and won the WWE Championship, his first championship in the WWE, and now he’s making the jump to UFC, but only for an appearance. Arjan Bhullar, who reportedly is UFC’s first fighter of Indian origin and a fellow Canadian, is scheduled to make his debut at UFC 215 on September 9, and Mahal will accompany his team in the Edmonton, Alberta, Canada show.

Back in July, Bhullar and Mahal were featured in a workout video where both athletes speak about their history and pride in representing their nationality.

The Rock’s Still Cool With The Teens

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is 45 years old but yet he won a Teen Choice Award last night. He won Choice Fantasy Movie Actor for his performance in the Disney animated film Moana. The WWE congratulated Johnson on his latest award.

The award comes a couple days after he stunned long-time wrestling fans with a drastic change to his brahma bull tattoo. He explained the “evolution” of the bull and detailed what each feature of the new bull represents.

Kumar Meets Mahal

Actor Kal Penn, famous for his roles in FOX’s House television series and the Harold & Kumar films, attended Tuesday night’s SmackDown Live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Penn, who also served as the White House Associate Director of Public Engagement during the Obama administration, watched the show with the Air Canada Centre crowd and also went backstage for a photo with WWE Champion Jinder Mahal and The Singh Brothers. According to WWE, Penn was a “personal guest” of The Modern-Day Maharajah.

Rock’s TV Success Continues

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s HBO show Ballers got renewed for a fourth season. The renewal coincided with fellow HBO show Insecure‘s pick up.

Amy Gravitt, executive vice president of HBO Programming said:

“We’re thrilled that the summer lineup of BALLERS and INSECURE connected with our viewers out of the gate. We’re so proud to work with Dwayne, Issa [Rae] and all of the amazing talent in both shows.”

Johnson stars as Spencer Strasmore, a financial manager for Miami’s sports players. Johnson thanked HBO for picking up the show for another season and the viewers earlier on Tuesday.

Ballers is currently airing its third season on HBO on Sunday nights and has so far been viewed by more than two million viewers per episode.

The Baby’s Eyebrow

On late Wednesday morning, people got to see a new image of Brie Bella and Daniel Bryan’s new baby, Birdie Joe Danielson, show off a characteristic from Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Birdie Joe is shown raising her right eyebrow, similar to the fashion The Rock would raise his brow during his WWE segments. Johnson was quick to response to The Bellas’ picture, commending the beautiful baby’s eyebrow is “way better” than his eyebrow could ever be.

The New “Talking Smack”

One of the top stories this month is WWE’s cancelation of the weekly edition of “Talking Smack.” The WWE Network-exclusive program would feature SmackDown Live superstars to follow up and expand on storylines and give talent a less scripted platform to work on. Talking Smack will only resume after pay per views with the SmackDown Live roster.

Renee Young and Daniel Bryan, who were the usual co-hosts of the show, were disappointed with the news but returned with a “rogue” edition of the new “Smacking Talk.” Following last night’s SmackDown Live, Daniel Bryan and Renee Young premiered its new show on Twitter. The short episode made fun of RAW’s Kurt Angle and Jason Jordan storyline, this time with Bryan revealing he’s Chad Gable’s father. Gable didn’t buy it, but it made for a fun premiere.

Will Smacking Talk continue next Tuesday? We’ll have to wait to find out.

It was reported earlier that WWE security personnel went to these fans to warn them, but with The Rock going off script to talk to the same fans made everyone sweat backstage.

The four fans were said to be dressed as The Rock himself, along with Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage and the Undertaker. At one moment chants were started for “Randy Savage” after seeing the fan dressed as the Macho Man doing Savage’s distinct mannerisms. After the incident the four fans were given different seats by the WWE security.

As The Rock does not work for WWE he could afford to go off script without the chance of getting fired. The Rock later tweeted adressing the incident as “Nightmare for Vince”.
