Drew McIntyre Injury Update

As we reported after NXT TakeOver: WarGames, Drew McIntyre suffered an injury during his NXT Title match with Andrade Almas. According to reports, McIntyre is already rehabbing his injury (which is believed to be a torn bicep) and is hoping to return by April 2018.

Unfortunately I did suffer an injury during my title defense at TakeOver. I’ve dealt with setbacks before. The reality is, I always come back better…There's a scary thought for whomever is NXT champion come 2018… #TickTock

Paige Wrestling On Tonight’s RAW

After her return last week, with some backup in the form of NXT’s Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, WWE has announced that Paige will wrestle her first match in over a year on tonight’s RAW.

Nikki Bella Talks Dancing With The Stars

On the latest episode of Lillian Garcia’s podcast, Nikki Bella opened up about some of her feelings concerning her working on Dancing With The Stars and how the show was hard on her fiancée John Cena.

“I fell in love with dance. I have not, in so many years – and this was hard on John because I was very honest with him – but I have not felt this young and, like, alive…And now I found this new passion, and I felt young and free.”

She also talked about how difficult it was for her to depend on a man during the competition.

“What was weird for me – and this was the crazy experience – since I was 15, I told myself, ‘I will never depend on a man. I will never need someone.’ And I joined this competition, and I have to depend on a man, and I have to need someone… I was feeling all these emotions, so I was bottling myself up, and I knew this could have made amazing TV for them. I didn’t want it to be forced. But I would go home at night, and there were times that I would cry.”

What’s Next For Triple H?

Last night at Survivor Series, we saw Triple H lay waste to Kurt Angle and Shane McMahon to win the elimination match for the RAW brand. We also saw Braun Strowman destroy The Game for crossing him. So, what’s next for Trips?

Well, with the Road To WrestleMania unofficially starting last night, it’s being speculated that Triple H could end up facing Kurt Angle at the Royal Rumble and Braun Strowman at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans.

Time will tell if any of these possibilities pan out.

Bring It To The Table Nixed

WWE Network has reportedly canceled the controversial Bring It To The Table. The show, which was basically half an hour or so of WWE calling its fans idiots and telling them to shut up with their complaints, hasn’t aired on the Network since July.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

Drew McIntyre Update

It looks like Drew McIntyre did suffer a biceps tear during his match with Andrade Almas for the NXT Title at TakeOver: WarGames on Saturday. Dave Meltzer is reporting that is the case, but the official word won’t come down from WWE until the results of McIntyre’s MRI come back.

If it is a bad tear, the former NXT Champion could require surgery and be out of action for several months.

Well, it looks like it wasn’t a work after all. Drew McIntyre was apparently legitimately injured during his match with Andrade Almas tonight at NXT TakeOver: WarGames. In my recap of the show, I noted that it looked like he legit hurt his arm when he went over the top rope in the closing stretch of the match. Also, it seemed like the finish was hurried to end the match rather suddenly.

After the match was over, one of the ringside doctors came into the ring to see about Drew, and he was helped back to the back.

During Triple H’s post-TakeOver Facebook stream, he verified that McIntyre had been injured and that it was probably a separated or torn bicep that would require surgery. Drew is scheduled to undergo a MRI tomorrow to determine the extent of the damage.

This is not good news for McIntyre or NXT. They are losing one of the brand’s top stars, and McIntyre had been on a roll since his return. There have also been rumors of his getting called up to the main roster soon, but this injury puts those plans on hold.

We will keep everyone updated on McIntyre’s status as more information becomes known.

Could we see an NXT title change just before the next TakeOver in Houston? WWE announced NXT Champion Drew McIntyre will defend his title against The Undisputed ERA’s Adam Cole on Friday, November 17th, during a non-televised live event in San Antonio. Fans attending the November 17 live event will also get to see a WWE Hall of Famer serve as special guest referee of the match: “The Heartbreak Kid” (HBK) Shawn Michaels. Tickets for the show are currently available and is just one day before NXT TakeOver: WarGames in Houston.

Following the announcement, Cole tweeted that the match is quite a way to meet HBK.

The NXT TakeOver: War Games event will include the War Games stipulation made famous in NWA and WCW. The War Games match includes teams fighting in two rings while enclosed in a steel cage. The first War Games match took place 30 years ago at NWA’s Great American Bash tour in 1987.

NXT TakeOver: War Games will also crown the new NXT Women’s Champion following Asuka relinquishing the title last month and moving to the RAW brand. The new women’s champion will be decided in a Fatal Four-Way match, although currently three competitors have been confirmed and aired on broadcast: Kairi Sane, Peyton Royce, and Ember Moon. The fourth competitor will be the winner of a Battle Royal airing next Wednesday, October 25, on the WWE Network.

Drew McIntyre On Returning To WWE

After leaving the promotion back in 2014, Drew McIntyre set out to make a name for himself on the indies, away from the WWE machine. After his surprising return to NXT earlier this year, McIntyre says he learned some valuable lessons during his time away from WWE.

“When you’re by yourself and not with WWE, you are your own business. And I was very successful in that business because of all the lessons I learned. I truly learned how to be a top brand myself and be what I needed to be. When the time was right and I wasn’t under contract anywhere, I spoke to Triple H on the phone. It was the right time to come home, and I was the right guy. I got the opportunity, and now I’ve got the ball and I’m going to run with it as far as I can.”

He also talked about NXT being the number one show.

“My job is to get NXT recognized as that third brand, not just as developmental. And since I’ve been back I’ve noticed the difference that people are starting to refer to it that way. It obviously doesn’t have the platform that Raw or Smackdown does, but I believe it’s the No. 1 show. We’re so competitive and passionate when it comes to our shows. I hope everyone’s keeping an eye on us. We are the No. 1 show for a reason. Everyone on the show has earned that spot. There are 150 people down at NXT. So if you’re on the show, wherever it may be, they’ve earned that spot and are giving a WrestleMania performance every time they’re in the ring.”

WWE Announces The Signing Of New Female Talents

WWE announced earlier today that they have signed Mae Young Classic competitor Kavita Devi and Shadia Bseiso, who is from Jordan and attended a WWE tryout in Dubai earlier this year.

Devi, who is the first female from India to sign with the company, feels it’s a privilege to work with WWE.

“It was a privilege to be the first Indian woman to compete in WWE. Participating in the Mae Young Classic with some of the best female performers in the world was a great learning experience. Now I am looking forward to pursuing my dream of becoming the first WWE Women’s Champion from India.”

Bseiso seems to feel the same; she is the first woman from the Middle East to sign with the promotion.

“It is an honor to be the first-ever woman from the Middle East to sign with WWE. I have visited the Performance Center and attended the Mae Young Classic. I have personally witnessed the power of WWE and the passion of WWE fans. I look forward to starting on my path to becoming a WWE Superstar.”

As seen at Saturday’s NXT Takeover: Brooklyn III event, Adam Cole made his NXT debut and attacked Drew McIntyre following his championship win over Bobby Roode for the NXT Title.

According to PWInsider, there was concern at first within WWE that Drew may have been injured during the attack on Cole at Takeover. It turned out that Cole was fine and is set to be at the next set of NXT television tapings this Thursday.

In a recent interview with the Mirror, Drew Galloway talks about it departure from WWE and his return to their NXT brand.

Returning At TakeOver

It’s been a crazy couple of months. I was basically the busiest independent wrestler in the world, travelling the world back and forth. I was under contract at the time [with IMPACT Wrestling] and I elected not to sign my new contract. I had to make the best decision for my future and my family’s future. I was very, very lucky after so many people believing in me and working my arse off that I was able to take a pick of where I was going to go. But my mind was made up, if I got the opportunity… William Regal is one of my mentors and I had been talking with him the whole time I have been away from WWE. He has been giving me advice, watching my matches, so that’s pretty much where it came up. I had a good conversation with Triple H on the phone and as I say, my mind was made up where I wanted to go. NXT is the top roster in the world as far as I’m concerned, the work ethic and fans. Once I had that conversation my mind was beyond made up.

That day when I showed up at the show was one of the wildest days of my life. I had a very busy day! I started at 8am, I had a signing, then a show in the afternoon, then a radio appearance, I had an additional signing, then showed up at the Evolve show at 8pm it started, I was out in the first segment, I believe I left the building at 8.20pm, drove straight to the Amway Center in Orlando, my wife was waiting with a suit at the back door. We ran in the back, I put the suit on, this was about 9pm, Orlando traffic so it took a while to get there, and I was sitting in my seat in front of 15,000 fans, and at not one point did I think to myself ‘I wonder how they’re going to react?’ until I sat in that seat, got my head down and thought ‘oh my God, I hope they remember me and have been following what I’ve been doing!’ When I showed up on camera and I saw and heard that reaction it was one of the best feelings in my life and I knew I had made the right decision.

Honoring His Remaining Indie Dates

Yeah that was a given for me and it was a given for Triple H. He’s someone who respects the business so much and doing business right, just like myself. I obviously mentioned it and he wasn’t bothered at all, he actually encouraged it, so I finished off my dates and dropped the titles I needed to drop. It was pretty cool having these moments with each of the companies. We had worked so hard together, with ICW, What Culture and Evolve, over the last few years to build us to where we were at, and to be able to say goodbye, even if I was a bad guy, it was cool to have those moments and say goodbye – for now. They are companies that are just going to keep growing, with guys that are getting so many opportunities, on the WWE UK show on the Network and on NXT itself, so it’s not ‘goodbye’ like it was when I first went to America, it’s ‘I’ll see you’. There are so many talented guys who are going to get an opportunity to be in NXT and some of them to be on this tour.

Still Planning To Be A Top Guy In WWE

I always have, 100%, I’ve never changed my opinion since I said that. He didn’t say the things he said for his health, he has done a lot with this business because of his eye for it. I wasn’t necessarily the guy he was looking for back then in a few different ways, but he certainly saw that raw talent and potential. I’ve been lucky that I’ve got myself through various opportunities and platforms and people believing in me, my wife helping in a lot of different areas, and growing up a lot, I’ve shown I am ready now to be a top guy, to hold that position for the company and show what it is to represent a giant, publicly traded company like WWE. There is so much more than just what you do in the ring and what you do on the microphone. As a kid I didn’t quite comprehend that, but now that’s something 100% I’m ready for. I’ve represented many people as the face of the company, proudly and I do it with joy and I do it with respect and make sure I elevate everywhere I go. I came to NXT to elevate it and I came back to WWE to fulfil the prophecy.
