Laurel Van Ness has announced her departure from Impact Wrestling moments after tonight’s television tapings concluded. She sent out the following tweet:

As previously noted, Laurel asked for her release from the company a while back but it was not immediately granted. It now appears that the company granted it and she will be free to work wherever she chooses.

Chris Adonis announced on Twitter today that he’s leaving Impact Wrestling. The former WWE Superstar wrote, “I have to announce my departure from Impact Wrestling. Thank you to @sonjaydutterson @EdNordholm & @ScottDAmore”

Konnan announced on Twitter that former WWE writer Vince Russo will be part of Aro Lucha as a script consultant.

Russo previously worked for WWE during the Attitude Era between 1992-1999. After his departure from the company, he went and worked for WCW between 1999-2000. He was also part of the writing team for TNA on several occasions.

Jack Swagger spoke with the Arm Drag Takedown Podcast. Here are some highlights from the interview:

How wrestlers cope with their artistic temperaments: “I like to think of pro wrestling as an art, so we’re artists. Most artists I know put their love and heart into these things, and to repeatedly have that swept away or get crushed, it gets a little much to deal with.”

What he hopes to gain from his new career on the indies: “There are so many styles out there I haven’t gotten to wrestle against or experience. I really want to take it all in and take the rollercoaster ride on a little journey and develop a pro wrestling character that can’t be stopped.”

Cody Rhodes being his chief inspiration for his departure: “He has a very good brain for this business – he always has – and he really knew his game plan and what he wanted to do. He executed it very well.”

Facing Jeff Cobb at Clash At The Cow Palace: “Everyone I know says Jeff Cobb is the strongest person in the ring and the way he throws them around…I’ve got Jeff Cobb in the back of my mind,” he concluded. “I’m really going to have to step my game up and see what this suplex party is all about.”

It appears that more talent may be leaving Impact Wrestling soon.

PWInsider reports that both Low Ki and Eddie Kingston’s deals with the company are set to expire soon. They could be the first of many talents set to leave the company. It’s also worth mentioning that some talents haven’t been receiving calls from officials lately when they’ve had questions.

As noted earlier today, Robbie E announce his departure from the company. It will be interesting to see if more departures are announced in the weeks to come.

Angelina Love took to her Twitter account to announce her departure from Global Force Wrestling:

Her departure isn’t a surprise since her husband Davey Richards recently left the company as well.

While appearing on Pancakes & Powerslams podcast, Nick “Magus” Aldis’ explained his departure from Impact Wrestling and mentioned that there was no release and he simply declined their contract.

“There was no release. There was nothing like that. A contract was offered to me, which I declined. Anthem offered me a contract. I read the contract. It’s not something that, I’ll say this in the nicest way that I can, it’s not a contract that anyone with any value, any sense of self-value, or self-worth would sign. There’s no point in signing a contract to make you exclusive to one place if you’re not getting anything in return.”
