David Otunga Off Survivor Series

It’s being reported that David Otunga will be missing Sunday’s Survivor Series. As we’ve been reporting today, he and former fiancée Jennifer Hudson have split up, and Hudson has filed an order of protection against the WWE commentator.

According to a report from TMZ, Otunga pulled out of the show to focus on his custody dispute with Hudson. Otunga is a regular on WWE PPV kickoff panels.

In a recent interview, Becky Lynch talked about why she’s not interested in appearing on Total Divas.

“It’s not something I ever wanted for myself. It’s a great opportunity for the women. But I never envisioned myself in that role. And there’s a certain mystique about myself that I’d like to keep. I don’t want to give out too much of Rebecca Quinn.”

She also talked about the face/heel dynamics in WWE and on the indies.

“When I was on the independent circuit, I always played the heel role, but I always felt that no matter what, I was able to connect with the fans. Whether I was good or not, there was a connection there because I think I just really love wrestling. If you’re a fan, you love wrestling. When you can feel that radiating off somebody, I think you tend to gravitate toward them.”

As we reported this morning, Jennifer Hudson has split from WWE’s David Otunga and now more information has come out about the protective order she took out on her former fiancée.

TMZ just released a report with details from the order itself.

In the order, Hudson claims that Otunga exhibited “aggressive, threatening and harassing behavior toward me” and says “I am now living in fear of further action David might take.”

She goes on to claim that Otunga would leave a holstered gun on the counter, but said it was a movie prop.

“David knows that I am and have been very sensitive to firearms after my mother and my brother were murdered by a firearm. I believe that he left it out to taunt, intimidate and frighten me, which he absolutely accomplished.”

The award-winning singer and actress got an order of protection and got cops to remove David from the family home; the order of protection gives Hudson exclusive possession of their residence and orders David to stay away from her and their son.

According to Otunga, Hudson made up the allegations to get leverage in their custody dispute.

WWE has a zero-tolerance policy when it comes to domestic violence and abuse situations, and it will be interesting to see what, if any, action they take against him in light of the facts in the protective order.

David Otunga and award winning singer and actress Jennifer Hudson have split up, and it’s not amicable. The news broke yesterday that Hudson has filed for a protective order against her former fiancée, who is a commentator for WWE.

“Today, Jennifer requested and received a protective order against her ex-fiancé. Jennifer’s actions are solely taken in the best interest of their son.”

The couple had been together for 10 years, but have apparently been in the process of ending their relationship for months.

Otunga released his own statement concerning the situation.

“David Otunga has been trying to negotiate the terms of an amicable parenting agreement with Ms. Hudson for several weeks now.

“However, when it became apparent to Ms. Hudson that Mr. Otunga would be the parent granted residential care of the child, as a result of Mr. Otunga being the child’s primary caregiver while Ms. Hudson pursues her career all over the world, Ms. Hudson decided to file a meritless Petition for Order of Protection in an effort to gain an unfair advantage in the custody dispute.

“As a result of Mr. Otunga’s career in the WWE, Ms. Hudson felt that she could give an award winning performance in court to portray herself as the victim. Mr. Otunga has never abused or harassed Ms. Hudson or their son, and it is unfortunate, especially in today’s climate, that she would feel the need to make these false allegations against him. Mr. Otunga looks forward to his day in court and in being awarded the residential care of the parties’ only child.”

It will be interesting to see what, if any action, WWE takes against Otunga. The circumstances surrounding the protective order aren’t known right now, but this can’t be good publicity for WWE, especially in the current social climate. It has long been speculated that Otunga has been kept as an employee by WWE due to his ties with the high-profile actress, and in the midst of all their cost cutting measures, Otunga’s future with the company may now be in question.

Booker T was originally scheduled to do commentary for only six weeks while David Otunga was away filming a movie. Otunga is returning to WWE as part of the Extreme Rules Kickoff panel with Renee Young and Peter Rosenberg.

For those who forgot, Otunga has been kept off weekly WWE programming for the last six weeks because he’s out filming a movie.
