Daniel Bryan announced in the opening segment of tonight’s WWE 205 Live that the new General Manager for the cruiserweight brand is former Impact Wrestling talent Rockstar Spud. Spud will be going by the name Drake Maverick moving forward.

Maverick announced a sixteen man tournament for the vacant WWE Cruiserweight title will kick off tonight. The finals of the terminate will take place at WrestleMania 34, where a new champion will be crowned.

It was announced earlier this week that Enzo Amore was released of his WWE contract after allegations of rape charges surfaced online against the former WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

Dave Meltzer discussed the allegations on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio and revealed that not too long ago Enzo was actually trying to get out of his WWE deal. Enzo apparently wanted to quit the company so he can focus on becoming a rapper full-time.

In regards to Enzo’s future, Meltzer said he can now pursuit a career as a rapper or he could possibly make good money on the indie scene but that’s if the charges against him are dropped.

WWE announced that Daniel Bryan will address the state of the Cruiserweight Championship in the opening of tonight’s episode of 205 Live. Here is what they wrote on their website regarding tonight’s show:

“With questions surrounding the status of the WWE Cruiserweight Championship and rumors circulating about a potential General Manager for WWE 205 Live, SmackDown LIVE GM Daniel Bryan has been asked to address these issues on behalf of WWE to kick off tonight’s episode of WWE 205 Live.

Among the topics Bryan may address is the status of the WWE Cruiserweight Title. Will Cedric Alexander still have his long-awaited opportunity to claim it at Royal Rumble? It was reported earlier today that Twitter user @MissGucciWitch publicly accused Enzo Amore of rape. The women claimed that the incident took place back on October 19th in Arizona. Since the story broke, WWE has suspended Amore once word got out that actual police charges were filed against the WWE Cruiserweight Champion.

The woman has also provided additional details about the incident and revealed that Tyler Grosso and Twitter user TooPoor were accomplices in the act.

“Most people only blame Enzo but believe me Tyler & Layla were 100% aware & involved & hopefully if these charges go though & they all get prosecuted I’ll feel so much safer. I love you & thank you so much. “

The women also released additional details to Fightful.com:

“Layla (TooPoor) posted to a couple of her fans and said ‘Who’s down to suck dick?’ I wasn’t down to suck dick, but I thought she’s probably down to hang out. I had been a fan of hers for a long time because I thought she was a really cool person. She messaged me and we DM’d back and forth — the police have the DM’s, I gave them my phone and they copied everything off of it. She invited me to the hotel all three of them were staying at. I had been a little drunk, but not too drunk to drive. I drove all the way over there — I was in Tempe and they were staying in Phoenix. She came to my car and walked me into the hotel and said ‘are you really down to suck his dick?’ I said ‘I don’t know if I’m really down to suck his dick, but if he’s cute and we get along, then maybe. If not I just want to hang out.”

Philomena continued, “I walk into the hotel room and there’s cocaine everywhere. They’re smoking weed and everything. We just started doing drugs,” she said. “Then they pulled out a different bag. I expected it to be a better version of cocaine — like top shelf that they had. They started giving it to me and I did like three lines in a row. It must have had meth or something I don’t even know, because I was literally was sitting there on the couch. I could hear what they were saying, I couldn’t speak, I was frozen. I can’t say I was unconscious, but I was not there.”

Philomena noted that she could still hear a conversation between Enzo and TooPoor:

“Enzo Amore goes ‘Layla thank you for bringing this girl around. This is the type of girl I’ve been waiting for… that I can just destroy. She’s such a lightweight, she doesn’t even know what’s going on. I’m going to rape the shit out of her.’ At first Layla and her boyfriend are like ‘Dude, come on are you for real? That’s kind of f***ed.’ And (Enzo) was like ‘No, I’m doing it. I don’t care what you say.’”

Welcome to our coverage for Monday Night Raw for December 18.

Brock Lesnar returns to Monday Night Raw for the first time in a while. He returns to address the fact that he does not have an opponent for Royal Rumble 2018. Braun Strowman and Kane were supposed to settle their differences last week but things ended in a no contest again. Now Lesnar will address the two in what is likely to become a Triple Threat match at Royal Rumble.

Cedric Alexander and Drew Gulak will battle tonight to determine the new number one contender to Enzo Amore’s Cruiserweight Championship. This comes a week after Alexander earned the right to compete, following Rich Swann’s suspension. Enzo has been ridiculing Gulak for weeks, which leads me to believe Gulak will win and perhaps take a face turn prior to Royal Rumble.

WWE announced that Bray Wyatt vs. Matt Hardy has been added to next month’s WWE 205 Live Events.

According to PWInsider, they may have added this match to help boost ticket sales for the events on Friday 1/19/18 at the Ryan Center in Kingston, Rhode Island, Saturday 1/20/18 at the Lowell Memorial Auditorium in Lowell, MA and Sunday 1/21/18 at the Mid-Hudson Civic Center in Poughkeepsie, NY.

As previously noted, the shows will feature Kalisto challenging Enzo Amore for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship with Nia Jax as the guest referee. Superstars advertised for the shows include Hideo Itam, Cedric Alexander, Tony Nese, Drew Gulak, The Brian Kendrick, Jack Gallagher and more.

205 Live Superstar Rich Swann was arrested early this morning at 12:09 AM in Gainesville, Florida and charged with Kidnapping/False imprisonment.

In the state of Florida that charge is a third-degree felony and is punishable by up to five years and a $5,000 fine if convicted. Swann was also charged with Battery – touching or strike, which is a first degree misdemeanor. Penalties for that charge include a year in jail or 12 months probation and a $1,000 fine upon conviction.

Swann is currently incarcerated in Alachua County Jail, which has released the following mugshot photo:

Swann is scheduled to face Drew Gulak to determine the #1 contender for the WWE Cruiserweight championship on this Monday’s episode of RAW in Cleveland, Ohio. The match will likely be canceled as part of the fallout of this arrest.
