Chris Adonis announced on Twitter today that he’s leaving Impact Wrestling. The former WWE Superstar wrote, “I have to announce my departure from Impact Wrestling. Thank you to @sonjaydutterson @EdNordholm & @ScottDAmore”

PWInsider reports that WWE has booked former wrestling personality Eric Bischoff for the January 22nd RAW 25th Anniversary show in New York City.

This would mark Bischoff’s first appearance for WWE since 2007, when he appeared in a segment with Chris Jericho on the Raw 15th Anniversary special.

After Bischoff left WWE, he worked with Impact Wrestling as an Executive Producer and was involved in several TV series.

Russo opens today’s show speaking about the recent interaction between Chris Jericho and Pro Wrestling Sheet’s Ryan Satin. Satin made an issue of the fact that Jericho dedicated his Wrestle Kingdom 12 match to Chris Benoit and Jericho swiftly responded, ridiculing Satin and saying he had his reasons for dedicating the match to Benoit.

Russo wonders that out of all the people in the world, wouldn’t Jericho be at the bottom of the list of people you’d want to fight with? Jericho has millions of fans and he’s also very smart and funny, so he’ll make you look foolish in front of all those fans. That’s exactly what happened in this case according to Russo.

While speaking about this week’s episode of RAW, Wade Keller of PWTorch said that he thought there was much more attention to detail and better acting than on recent episodes of the show. Russo wants Keller to give some examples of this attention to detail and great acting, because he didn’t see anything close to that.

Keller went on to say that Renee Young is “pitch perfect”, and she might be best of all time at her job, even better than Lance Russell. Russo disagrees with this entirely and doesn’t feel that you can compare anyone from this era to Russell or Gene Okerlund. He says that these interviewers have to have a personality and punch their time in the business before anyone can make those comparisons.

While speaking to Chris Van Vliet of WSVN-TV Entertainment, Bill Goldberg was asked about a possible return to WWE and mentioned that as long as he has two arms and two legs he can still do his thing.

“You never know. You really don’t. I ain’t dead yet and I ain’t even close. So as long as I’ve got two arms and two legs and I can still do my thing, never say never.”

Speaking of Goldberg, there is a good chance we may see him on WWE in the near future as he’s rumored to headline next year’s WWE Hall of Fame Class. If the rumors are true, he would be making several appearances on WWE television.

Taz opens today’s show speaking about the recent angle between Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega in NJPW. He loved what those two guys did here, and Jericho’s surprise appearance in Japan really shocked the live crowd. However, he didn’t like how Kevin Kelly and the commentary team handled this. Jericho was back on to the camera so the viewers at home couldn’t tell who it was initially, yet the announcers began screaming “Oh my God, it’s Jericho!”

Taz says that commentators need to use their monitors because that’s what the viewers at home are seeing. He recalls McMahon telling him and Michael Cole in their ear pieces to look right into their monitors because a surprise was coming and he wanted the announcers to react to what the viewers were seeing at home.

He points out that NJPW is usually great at keeping secrets, but he can tell by the way that they called the action that the commentary team knew Jericho was going to make an appearance. If Taz was running NJPW he would have kept this from the commentators so they would have reacted organically like a fan.

He credits Jericho for his great beatdown of Omega, and he adds that Omega sold all of Jericho’s offence  wonderfully. The entire thing felt old school and Taz calls it ‘badass’. Jericho is the perfect guy to pull this off in Taz’s opinion because he has the experience and knowledge, and he knows exactly the kind of heat that was needed to make this angle work.

While speaking to CBS Sports, Triple H was asked about Chris Jericho facing Kenny Omega at Wrestle Kingdom next month.

“I think it’s great. Good for Chris,” Triple H said. “It’s phenomenal. Good for Kenny, good for New Japan. We were aware. That was a conversation that was had.”

Triple H continued, “It’s great, it’s good for him. Chris is one of the greatest talents in the history of the business, so I think it’s great. Good product is good product. I’m happy for them, happy for Chris and happy for everybody.”

As previously reported, Chris Jericho attacked Kenny Omega at NJPW’s World Tag League Final show as part of the build to their Wrestle Kingdom 12 match next month.

Jericho posted a new video on Instagram where he formally introduces himself to Omega and says that the attack was both a warning and introduction of what Omega can expect to happen to him at Wrestle Kingdom.

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane, Chris and Kenny Bolin, and Big Vito.

Vito and Kenny Bolin open today’s show by addressing the heat between the two of them after they had a huge argument last week. During last week’s disagreement, Kenny made a disrespectful comment about Vito’s wife and Vito responded by wishing that Kenny would die, and he also threatened to go to Kenny’s home and physically assault him.

That attempted to make up since then but there were still some underlying issues and Kenny couldn’t get over the fact that Vito threatened him physically. Kenny informs that he’s in terrible physical shape currently, and he requires surgery soon which he might not even survive. He thought Vito took things too far by threatening to harm a physically disabled man.

Kenny’s son, Chris, points out that his father has been living this ‘Starmaker’ gimmick for as long as he can remember, and when he gets caught up in an argument he can go into promo mode and cross the line without even noticing. Chris believes his father, Kenny, went too far by disrespecting Vito’s wife and Kenny agrees, so he apologizes for that.

Russo says he’s going to discuss how he had to hold someone accountable on Twitter this past week. He says he covers wrestling because wrestling is his job, but he feels that he has a responsibility to talk to people about the hardships in life from time to time, and to assure people that God will be there for them. He says that some people have recently called him out for becoming very religious all of a sudden, but he points out that he’s been a Christian for 14 years so this is nothing new.

He says that there was an exchange of tweets over this past weekend between Chris Jericho and Ryan Satin of ProWrestlingSheet. In an attempt to promote his upcoming cruise, Jericho joked on Twitter that there are going to be a lot of sexy women in bikinis on the cruise.

Russo says he had no issue with this whatsoever, because he has no issue with promoting the beauty of the human body, either male or female. However, Satin apparently had a big issue with this because he tweeted back at Jericho, sarcastically saying that he’s sure Jericho’s female fans will be happy with being objectified like that.

Russo says he doesn’t understand why Satin is on such a high horse, attempting to play social justice warrior from behind his laptop in his apartment building. Jericho’s initial remark was a funny, entertaining way to promote the cruise and Russo saw nothing wrong with it.
