WWE Monday Night Raw Results – 12 June 2017

Welcome to what promises to be an explosive episode of Monday Night Raw!

WWE.com has already confirmed that tonight’s show will open with Brock Lesnar, who will look to confront Samoa Joe! Last week Joe choked-out Paul Heyman and made this title match a lot more personal. Lesnar is liable to be fuming tonight and we could see a knock-down drag-out brawl between these two behemoths, although I think WWE should look to keep them apart.

Also on tonight’s show, The Hardy Boyz will get a Tag Team Championship rematch against Sheamus & Cesaro. Can Matt and Jeff win the titles back, or will Shesaro win by hook or crook? This could serve as the end of the feud tonight, or a simple roadblock on route to their next big encounter. It’s a little too soon to end this feud, especially when there’s no viable contender’s in the immediate background.

The Miz and Dean Ambrose are still embroiled in a feud over the Intercontinental Championship, although last week The Miz angered his wife Maryse. Ambrose is deep inside Miz’s head and I would expect that to continue here tonight. Elsewhere, Nia Jax got screwed out of a proper title match with Alexa Bliss last week and she will no doubt be on the hunt for revenge. And then we have Enzo and Cass, who are still getting attacked on a weekly basis. Are The Revival really the culprits? That seems far too obvious at this point, but we will hopefully find out tonight just who is behind the attacks.

That’s the preview for tonight’s show! What do you think is going to go down? Let us know in the comments and be sure to check out the awesome Ringside News app, enjoy the show!

John Cena on How Many Title Runs He Has Left

John Cena spoke with WSVN-TV promoting the upcoming second season of American Grit. Highlights are below:

If he wrestled the entire match at WrestleMania 33 with the engagement ring in his pocket: “There are some secrets that should be kept secret my friend. That one’s for me to know. I like the fact that a lot of folks ask me where I kept the ring. I know where I kept it and I think that’s a secret I’ll keep with me.”

What to expect from his WWE return: “I just want to get back in the fray. I think it’s a wonderful time to be a fan, to be a member of our WWE Universe. The rosters on both sides, SmackDown Live and Monday Night Raw, is packed with very capable, unbelievable superstars and I’m just waiting to get back into the mix and try to prove my worth once again.”

His interaction with Ric Flair immediately after tying his record at the Royal Rumble: “I have a longstanding friendship with Ric Flair. He’s been a mentor to me over the years. It was very important to me that he was there for me that night. He was nothing but encouraging, so honorable and so inspirational. He’s a wonderful guy and a lot of fun and I’m really happy that he was there. It was a great moment for all of us.”

How many more title runs he thinks he has left: “I truly don’t look at it like that. I just want to be able to be able to perform at an elite level. I know that at 40 years old and 15 years in the WWE now it’s been a long journey, longer than most. I have to find my grit every day to keep working hard to keep up with all of these young, strong guys. It truly is a young man’s game but I feel really good. I look forward to July 4th and I think everybody will see that I haven’t lost a step yet.”

Who he thinks he should pass the torch to: “I think it’s been passed without me. There’s a lot of folks who are currently doing a lot of damage on the roster. The show is thriving in my absence. I think it’s extremely competitive. I did win the 16th Championship at the Rumble but I was unfortunate in my first defense at Elimination Chamber and before that I hadn’t really been in the Championship picture for a while. I think the company is moving on quite well. I don’t know if there needs to be a formal anointment but they’re really doing well without me.”

Sheamus Going After the Intercontinental Championship?

Sheamus indicated on Twitter that he wants to hold the Intercontinental Championship, the one title that has eluded him to date. Here is his twitter, which sparked a response The Miz:

Austin Aries Turning Heel Soon?

After suffering three straight pay-per-view losses against Neville for Crusierweight Championship, Austin Aries may be turning heel soon.

Bryan Alvarez discussed Aries’ status on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live and speculates that the company will turn Aries. Aries teased “serious life reflection” and “career reevaluation” after his loss on Twitter Sunday night after his loss. This could ben an indication that we will see something new with Aries moving forward.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results – June 5 2017

Welcome to another exciting edition of Monday Night Raw!

Samoa Joe shocked the world last night at Extreme Rules when he grabbed Finn Balor in a Coquida Clutch and choked him out. Joe became the number one contender to Brock Lesnar’s Universal Championship and the Samoan Bulldozer had some words for Brock Lesnar on Raw Talk:

WWE.COM has been teasing a response from Paul Heyman and Brock Lesnar tonight but I would be shocked if The Beast actually appeared. A showdown between Joe and Lesnar will be amazing, even if it is just a one-off match. Joe will also look to keep his momentum tonight with a comfortable win over some poor soul.

Two title changes also occurred at Extreme Rules last night, with The Miz winning his 7th Intercontinental Championship, and Sheamus and Cesaro regaining the Tag Team Championships from The Hardy Boyz. The Miz was able to beat Dean Ambrose, with a little cheating, to win another Intercontinental Championship and hopefully begin to restore meaning to that title again. Ambrose has been a fairly lacklustre champion every time he has held a belt, whereas The Miz thrive with a title on his shoulder. The Hardy Boyz lost their first tag match since returning last night, and thus lost their titles as well. It was a solid match and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a rematch at Great Balls of Fire.

Alexa Bliss battled Bayley in a weird match last night. I say weird because the story built around the match was that Bayley wasn’t able to get extreme, well then you would think the match would climax when Bayley finally discovered her edge. Nope, Alexa just blasted Bayley with the Kendo Stick multiple times, hit the Bliss DDT and pinned her clean. It was a really odd finish but, frankly, I’m glad to see the end of this rivalry. Nia Jax made it clear on the pre-show last night that she is next in line, no matter who the Champion is, so I would expect an altercation on tonight’s program.

Then there’s Neville, still the Cruiserweight Champion, Kurt Angle’s cryptic phone messages, and Elias Samson still singing his heart out. All that and loads more happening on tonight’s Raw. What are you excited to see? Let us know in the comments, check out the Ringside News app, and enjoy the show!

Samoe Joe No Longer the Favorite to Win at Extreme Rules

Samoa Joe is no longer the favorite to win the Fatal 5-Way match at tonight’s Extreme Rules match.

5 Dimes has released the updated betting odd’s for tonight’s show and Seth Rollins is now the favorite to leave the event as the new #1 contender for Brock Lesnar’s WWE Universal Championship.

Seth Rollins comes in as a -100 favorite, while Samoa Joe is sitting at +145. Finn Balor is at +700, Bray Wyatt at +1450 and Roman Reigns at +3000.

There are no other drastic changes in the last 24-hours except for the Fatal 5-Way match. We will keep you updated if there are any other major changes.

WWE Extreme Rules Results – June 4 2017

Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of WWE Extreme Rules 2017!

Let’s start at the top for a change: the Kick-Off show begins at 7:00 PM EST, and the main show starts at 8 PM. The Kick-Off show will see another rematch between Kalisto and Apollo Crews, with Titus O’Neil in Apollo’s corner. Originally the pre-show match was supposed to be the mixed tag match but it was changed just today. So join us for the Kick-Off show and get the results of this match and the rundown of the entire card.

Two tag team matches take place on the main card tonight, one of which is The Hardy Boyz Vs Sheamus & Cesaro for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. This match will take place inside of a steel cage and the stipulation is fitting because things have gotten personal between the two teams. The other match is the mixed tag team match with Rich Swann & Sasha Banks against Noam Dar and Alicia Fox. This match was on the pre-show but was moved to the main card, as far as I can tell. The match doesn’t really have a stipulation, besides the genders, but it will look to settle the score once and for all between Noam Dar, Alicia Fox, and Rich Swann.

Dean Ambrose puts his Intercontinental Championship on the line against The Miz on tonight’s show. This match is kind of the opposite of every other on the card tonight, as Dean Ambrose will lose his title if he gets disqualified against Miz. This stipulation was put in place because The Miz claims Ambrose cannot win matches without getting crazy, and also to differentiate it from the rest of the card. The odds are already stacked against Ambrose, but there is a strong chance Elias Samson may interfere and attack The Miz – reflecting his “eye for an eye” lyric on Raw this past week. Let us know who you think will walk out with the gold!

Speaking of gold, Neville stands a strong chance of losing his tonight, as he faces Austin Aries in a submission match. This is the third PPV in a row that Neville and Aries will have gone toe-to-toe and it seems like the chances of Neville retaining are super slim. Aries has been run through the gauntlet time and time again by Neville and TJP, but tonight the odds actually favour him, and the only way to keep things going is for Aries to grab a win against the King of the Cruiserweights.

Alexa Bliss battles Bayley in a Kendo Stick-On-A-Pole match, following one of the worst WWE TV segments in recent memory. Last Monday, Bliss gave us a Bayley, This Is Your Life segment, but what transpired was a lot more like Jerry Springer than The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection. This left us less-than-excited for the title match tonight, especially considering the gimmick of the match means that there won’t be any use of the Kendo Stick for the majority of the match. I expect this match to be as good as it could be, simply because of how good Bayley and Alexa are, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Bayley take the win!

The main event tonight is the first-ever Extreme Rules Fatal 5-Way between Finn Balor, Samoa Joe, Bray Wyatt, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns.

Another Switch In Tonight’s Betting Odds for Extreme Rules

We are about an hour away from Extreme Rules and the final betting odds are in. It was noted earlier today that Seth Rollins was the favorite to win the #1 contender match for the WWE Universal Championship, however there has been another switch. Samoe Joe, who was the favorite earlier this week, is once again the favorite to win the match.

Here are the updated odds:

Samoa Joe (-900), Seth Rollins (+600), Finn Balor (+3500), Bray Wyatt (+5000) and Roman Reigns (+7500).

The Miz (-4800) is favored to win where Dean Ambrose (+1600) will lose the title if he is disqualified.

Alexa Bliss (-2300) is favored to retain the Women’s Championship against Bayley (+1100) in a Kendo Stick-on-a-Pole match.

Cesaro and Sheamus (-16,000) are favored to win the Tag Team Championship from The Hardy Boyz (+4000) in a Steel Cage match.

Neville (-7500) is favored to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship against Austin Aries (+2500) in a Submission match.

Rich Swann & Sasha Banks (-6000) are favored to win the Mixed Tag Team match against Noam Dar & Alicia Fox (+2000).

Coverage of tonight’s show kicks off at 7PM ET. We will have a live fan discussion on RingsideTalk.net.

Possible Spoiler for the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match

As seen on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, Shane McMahon announced the first-ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match that will see 5-women fighting for a chance to win a briefcase that allows them the opportunity for a shot at the Women’s Championship anytime they want. Those names include Carmella, Tamina, Becky Lynch, Natalya and Charlotte.

Dave Meltzer indicated prior to the announcement that the match would see only four competitors because there was expected to be two women matches at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view event. With the announcement of five competitors, it is very unlikely now that two matches will take place on the card.

Bryan Alvarez suggested on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE may have changed it to five competitors because the winner of the MITB ladder match may cash it in later in the night. This could be the reason why the Women’s championship match isn’t being defend on the card now and the number of competitors was switch from four to five.

The Taz Show Recap – Smackdown Analysis, In-Ring Psychology, Nia Jax Lashes Out, More!

Block 1:

Taz says that he enjoyed the different open to Smackdown Live last night. All five women who are competing in the Money in the Bank Ladder match next month cut promos in an old school ‘cold open’. He believes that from time to time, it’s a good idea for WWE to open their shows in different ways like this in order to keep fans guessing.

The only thing Taz didn’t like about these promos is that they all felt very scripted to him. He understands that each of these promos were very short, and it would have been tough for these women to ad lib promos that short.

He also says that by opening the show like this, WWE made their Smackdown Live Women’s Championship feel very important. Later in the show these five women went all out in a crazy brawl before Shane McMahon came to the ring and announced the first ever Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Taz thinks this is a great idea, and he’s looking forward to watching this match.
