We reported earlier today that WWE has hired on longtime Impact Wrestling employee Jeremy Borash to be a part of the company. At the time of press, we were unable to confirm his exact role with the company but we can now tell you that he will be working for the NXT brand. It was also Triple H’s decision to bring him on.

While there is no official word on when he will start with the company, NXT will be taping television in Atlanta, GA this week so it’s possible he could start at that time. We are unable to confirm at this time if he will have an on-screen role, but we will keep you updated if we hear anything.

Here are some backstage notes and spoilers from tonight’s Impact Wrestling tapings in Orlando, Florida at Universal Studios:

* Lucha Undergrounds’ Brian Cage is backstage at tonight’s tapings and will be debuting this week. He was also at last night’s tapings but not used.

* Anthem has attempted to bring in Pat Kennedy in as a producer for this week’s tapings but he was too busy with his real estate business.

* It was speculated that Moose had suffered an injury at Wednesday night tapings. The belief is that all signs are positive for his knee.

It doesn’t appear that WWE has plans to bring back the Slammy Awards anytime soon.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider was recently asked about the company bringing annual awards and mentioned that they decided to drop the concept last year but have been looking at new ideas for the event. As of this writing, there are no plans to bring it back. Johnson speculates that it could return in a few years.

WWE will be taping the Tribute to the Troops show on December 5th at the Naval Base in San Diego, California. The show will air on the USA Network on December 14th.

PWInsider reports that one of the legends that company plans on bringing in for the show is WWE Hall of Famer Sgt. Slaughter. It remains to be seen if they bring in another other legends for the show. We will keep you updated.

Señor Benjamin has made a brief appearance in a new video teasing Matt Hardy’s “WOKEN” character. You can check out the video below, which the caption reads: “It has begun. The #7Deities have WOKEN my #BROKENBrilliance on the plane identified as WWE. Senor Benjamin, PROCURE my Coat of Battle. The #GreatWar has begun.”

As previously reported, WWE has plans to bring the “BROKEN” character back but under the “WOKEN” name. Hardy has been teasing the return all week on social media and on RAW this past week.

While speaking to The Trentonian, Daniel Bryan revealed that he has continued to get cleared to return to action and revealed that all his tests have came back fantastic.

“I’m trying to get cleared as we speak,” Bryan said. “All my tests have come back fantastic, better than people who have never had any concussion-type stuff. But it’s a weird thing. We’re in a weird situation politically with the climate around concussions; right now, it’s very difficult. WWE would love to have me back, but is that the smart thing for me as a business to bring me back? If I was to come back, and they let me back, would they get a lot of flak for it? They have a ton of stockholders that they’re responsible for. It’s more than just, ‘Is he healthy to do it?’”

He continued, “There’s more than that to the whole situation. All the concussion doctors think that I’m healthy enough to do it, and that I should be able to do it — well, I don’t want to say all of them, I’m sure there’s somebody out there who doesn’t think that — but there’s a lot more than goes into it than just that. That’s the unfortunate situation with giant corporations and big business in the United States.”

Bryan hasn’t wrestled in the WWE since April of 2015. He has expressed in multiple interviews that once his contract is up, he will be leaving the company if they don’t allow him to perform.

Following his WWE Championship Title victory over Jinder Mahal on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, WWE caught up with AJ Styles and asked him what’s going through his head.

“I’m a two time WWE Champion, that’s all I can think about,” said Styles. “Those people and how much they cared what was happening in that match based on the guy that they love. I don’t think it’s because of what everyone thinks it is. I think it’s because I am one of them. I’m not the strongest. I’m not the biggest. I’m the guy that would do anything and everything to bring their child to an event like this. Scrape up the money, so that their kid could have a great time. I’m one of them. The only difference is, when I step into a WWE ring, there ain’t no body like me.”

When asked about about the WWE Championship changing hands for the first time overseas and the WWE Championship changing time for the first time in nearly 15 years on SmackDown, Styles responded, “Well, I have a question for you. Who was the last man, to do that 15 years ago?”

The interviewer responded, “Brock Lesnar.”

“Brock and I, we have a lot of similarities, don’t we?,” said Styles. “Only once huge difference. I’m the SmackDown champion and he’s not. “

With Impact Wrestling losing a good portion of their talents, it’s safe to say that they will need to bring in new ones now to fill the roster.

According to PWInsider, Tamara McNeill will be debuting at this week’s Impact Wrestling’s television tapings in Ottawa, Ontario.

McNeill is known to many as Hania the Huntress. Hania originally broke into the business under a mask as Saturnyne back in 2011 for CHIKARA before working for Ring of Honor and several other independent promotions over the last several years.

As noted earlier today, Rusev’s Survivor Series qualifying match against AJ Styles for next week’s episode of SmackDown Live is off and Styles will be facing Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship instead.

Styles took to his Twitter account to react to the announcement, writing, “I’m sure he’ll bring his two cronies…I’ll bring a Phenomenal Forearm and a Styles Clash. #AndNew #SDLive”

According to PWInsider, the company has had some “recent negotiations” with Ricochet, who won the PWG Championship over Chuck Taylor last weekend. Additionally, they are also looking to bring in Tessa Blanchard, who could begin with the company as soon as the post-PPV tapings begin.
