Brock Lesnar will be working a heavier scheduled heading into this year’s WrestleMania 34 event.

As of this writing, Lesnar is confirmed to appear on the January 1st, January 8th and January 22nd episodes of RAW. Lesnar is also schedule to appear on the February 26th episode of RAW in Anaheim as well.

In addition to those dates, Lesnar is being advertised to work the January 27th WWE Live Event in Baltimore against Kane, in what the company is billing as the first ever one-on-one match between the two.

Lesnar will be added to even more events as we draw closer to the biggest show of the year, WrestleMania.

– Dave Meltzer pointed out on Wrestling Observer Radio that The USA Network has had a streak of being the #1 overall cable network in prime time for the past 12 years. This goes without saying that the network is not going to give up it’s right to have WWE programming easily when the contract between the two expire in 2019.

According to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE is not building to a Shane McMahon vs. Daniel Bryan match.

While Shane & Bryan are feuding on SmackDown Live, there is no blow-off match planned for a match between the two because Bryan has not been medically cleared to compete inside a WWE ring. Vince McMahon has made it clear to Bryan that the decision will come from Dr. Joseph Maroon on whether he gets cleared to return or not.

Meltzer mentioned that if he does get cleared, there has been talk about him possibly wrestling at next year’s SummerSlam event and even working a limited schedule after that.

Rusev reportedly lost to Randy Orton at Sunday’s SummerSlam event in seconds because it was WWE’s way of starting a program between the two.

According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea behind it is that it was a “fluke loss” for Rusev and it will play a factor into their storyline. There is also the belief that Orton needed a pay-per-view win after his poor run of PPV matches with Bray Wyatt & Jinder Mahal. The loss was not to punish Rusev but a major pro-Orton decision.

Reby Hardy revealed on Twitter a screenshot of Global Force Wrestling reaching out of Jimmy’s Seafood restaurant about a possible partnership between the two. Thing’s didn’t work in GFW’s favor, as the Jimmy’s Seafood asked them to release the rights to the “BROKEN” gimmick to The Hardys before they would discuss any dealings.

PWInsider reports that all four Broken Universe-related trademarks that were filed by Global Force Wrestling have be given an initial refusal by the United States Patent & Trademark Office for a variety of reasons.

Matt Hardy filed for the “Broken Matt Hardy” trademark first, which the United States Patent & Trademark Office could see as confusing similar. Global Force Wrestling will need to prove there is no conflict between the two and will also need to indicate whether “Broken Matt” refers to a living person. Matt will have to sign off on it if it does.

“Brother Nero” was refused because GFW failed to indicate whether or not it was to identify a living person. They will need the consent of Jeff Hardy if it does.

“Broken Brilliance” was refused because Global Force Wrestling failed to specify whether or not the term has any significance in professional wrestling or if it is just a “term of art” in the wrestling business.

“Vanguard1” was refused because it is confusingly similar to a non wrestling-related trademark.

It was also noted that all four trademarks were also refused because it was ruled that the wordings used for identification and classification of goods and services in the initial filing were too broad, thus the USPTO ruled those filings needed additional clarification.

As seen on Tuesday’s episode of SmackDown Live, WWE announced that John Cena would face Rusev in a flag match at the upcoming WWE Battleground event. Bryan Alvarez speculated on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Live that the reason WWE decided to have a flag match between the two was in case they decide to have Rusev win.

“The Flag match is essentially the professional wrestling version of capture the flag. For the match two flags are placed on opposite turnbuckles, each representing a specific wrestler or team of wrestlers, and the object of the match is to retrieve the opponent’s flag and raise it while defending the flag in the wrestler’s corner.”

According to the rules (seen above), the match will conclude when a specific wrestler retrieves the flag of their opponent. This means Cena doesn’t have to actually be pinned to lose the match. Historically, WWE normally has gimmick matches as a blow-off match in a feud or as an “out” for a screwy finish.

Seth Rollins made an appearance at Saturday’s WWE Live Event and challenged Jinder Mahal for the WWE Championship. The incident went down while Jinder Mahal was cutting an in-ring promo and Rollins made his surprise appearance and cut a promo as well. This led to a match between the two. The match ended in disqualification when the Singh brothers interfered.

Originally Shinsuke Nakamura was scheduled to face Mahal at the event, however Rollins’ filled in as the replacement.

The following audio clip of Jim Cornette challenging former WWE writer Vince Russo to a face-to-face meeting was published to his Talking Sense YouTube channel. For those not keeping track, the two have been bad mouthing each other on their podcasts ever since the “Table for 3” episode aired on the WWE Network that saw both Eric Bischoff and Cornette making remarks about Russo.
