The reason No Way Jose disappeared from NXT television and wasn’t at live events over the past month was because he was dealing with injuries.

The injuries were not too serious as he returned to action at Thursday’s set of television tapings at Center Stage in Atlanta. While Jose is not booked for the upcoming Takeover event in Philadelphia, it looks like he could be receiving a push because he defeated Cezar Bononi at the tapings.

WWE announced that Shayna Baszler will make her NXT TV in-ring debut on next Wednesday’s episode.

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane, Big Vito, and Kenny & Chris Bolin. On today’s show they’re going to share their thoughts on this past week’s episode of RAW & Smackdown Live.

Russo says that he was very dissapointed that WWE’s creative team ignored the fact that someone had to let The New Day into the building during last week’s episode of RAW. On this week’s show, he would have written the entire episode around the fact that there’s a mole on the inside who let those guys into the building the prior week. He thinks that would have been very captivating television, but WWE simply ignored it.

Russo saw no point of the in-ring promo segment between Miz, Sheamus and Cesaro on RAW. Lane agrees, saying that this was a filler segment. Bolin points out that he basically falls asleep anytime Sheamus speaks so he wasn’t captivated by this promo.

Bolin says that Jason Jordan has ‘Rocky Maivia’ heat right now, and the Atlanta fans were even thanking Bray Wyatt for hurting Jordan’s leg on RAW this week. It’s one thing for a Northeast crowd to act that way, but when a Southern crowd begins to turn on a babyface that heavily, you’re in real trouble.

According to PWInsider, Roman Reigns will be returning to WWE next week when the company hits up Atlanta for the go-home Survivor Series edition of RAW. This will be his first appearance since being pulled from the TLC event.

There was talk earlier today at the Manchester RAW tapings that Reigns may not be ready for a full blown return to the ring, leading to Jason Jordan taking his spot at at Survivor Series. WWE may do an angle where Roman is added to the Survivor Series team or they may just keep Jordan in the slot and have Reigns injected back into a Shield Reunion storyline instead.

The Shield are slated to headline several November and December RAW Live Events. We will have to wait and see how it plays out next week.

It was reported earlier this week that Brock Lesnar is rumored defend his WWE Universal Championship against Finn Balor at the Survivor Series event in November.

Lesnar has recently been added to the post-WWE TLC episode of RAW on Monday, October 23rd in Green Bay, Wisconsin. One would think this is when the company will start the build for the Survivor Series match between Balor and Lesnar. In addition to Lesnar appearing on those shows, he has also been added to the final RAW from Atlanta on November 13th.

As of this writing, Lesnar is not expected to work the upcoming Tables Ladders and Chairs pay-per-view event.

Smackdown Ring Announcer Greg Hamilton kept fans up-to-date on social media as he, Byron Saxton, Mike Rome and Dasha Fuentes left Florida to catch their flights for next week’s RAW & SmackDown Live in Atlanta. Hamilton posted three videos — one before leaving, on the road and a final one when they made it to their destination.

As previously reported, Ric Flair is in a medically induced coma in advance of a surgery after being admitted to the hospital early Saturday morning.

TMZ reports that Flair is set to undergo a procedure momentarily, though it’s not known what the procedure is. At last word it was for a heart related issue.

Ric Flair’s daughter Charlotte Flair flew to Atlanta this morning to be with her father.

AJ Styles just defeated Kevin Owens to become a two-time WWE United States Champion. With Styles looking to begin an open challenge, he will have many fresh challengers. One of these challengers will eventually dethrone Styles. Someone will dethrone the one who dethroned Styles. So on and so forth.

Who will be the next person to hold United States gold? Who will become a champion soon? Only time will tell, but here are some bold predictions. Who will become a United States champion before 2017 ends?

3. Kevin Owens

Styles is supposed to defend his championship next week on Smackdown. Given WWE’s recent fascination with nonsensical booking decisions, expect Owens to regain the title and become a four-time US Champion.

The match, if it’s anything like their last few matches, will be a mostly okay match. It will be good for a TV match. Eventually, though, some weird booking decision will work in Kevin Owens’ favor. Maybe the referee won’t see a weapon shot, or won’t see a rope break. Maybe Kevin Owens will pick up the whole announce table and hit AJ with it and the referee won’t know if he should disqualify Owens. At the end of a hard-fought match, though, Owens will walk away with the gold.

The next week, he’ll cut a promo saying he’s hosting an open challenge. Styles will answer, and Owens will deny him. Either Daniel Bryan or Shane McMahon will book  the match for the following week, because ratings or something. Whatever. Styles will get his rematch.

What will happen after Styles gets his rematch? It’s easy.

2. AJ Styles

At the rematch, AJ Styles will channel the strength of his home state of Georgia. With the weight of 10 million people squarely on his shoulders, Styles will vanquish that dastardly Canadian Kevin Owens and become a three-time United States champion. Ideally, the match would be a no holds barred street fight. The Atlanta Falcons will all be at ringside (despite the show being held in Providence, Rhode Island), and they’ll all attack Kevin Owens. Then the Montreal Canadiens will show up and attack the Falcons. Styles will then perform a Styles Clash to Kevin Owens off the top rope, outside the ring, and onto both teams, who are conveniently brawling near the turnbuckle. Amidst all the strewn bodies at ringside, Styles will roll Owens’ lifeless body into the ring and get the three-count.

Next week, AJ will announce that he’s holding an Open Challenge. John Cena will answer, because reasons. Kevin Owens will also appear, along with Jinder Mahal. They’ll have a tag team match, and Owens will face Styles at Summerslam for the United States Championship.

What happens at Summerslam? I think you know.

1. Kevin Owens

At Summerslam, Kevin Owens will defeat AJ Styles in a 60-minute 6-pack Iron Man Elimination match that will also feature Sami Zayn, Tye Dillinger, Aiden English, and Mike Kannelis. Owens will eliminate Styles by fighting with the weight of 35 million people on his shoulders. Styles will be fighting with the weight of 323 million people on his shoulders, but since his burden is heavier, Owens capitalizes on that and wins.

Owens will once again proclaim that he will be hosting an open challenge. Styles will demand a match, but Owens will deny him, saying he’s fought him too many times. Styles moves to the back of the line, and Kevin Owens faces new challengers.

Kevin Owens will then hold on to the United States Championship for the rest of his career. He’ll retire 10 years later, still the United States champion. At his last ever match, it will be for the championship. The match will end in a DQ, and Owens gets to retire with the title, forever the New Face of America.
