While appearing on on FOX News, Dana White was asked about the rumors of Conor McGregor being in talks with WWE.

White responded, “It’s not true. It’s absolutely not true.” White said that he texted the article to Vince McMahon. Vince’s response was, “It’s news to me! It may be a good idea someday but not now.”

You can check out White’s remarks embedded in the video below:

A beast incarnate, a Samoan machine, a big dog and a monster among men – a.k.a the Summerslam main event. Excitement for this match is understandably through the roof. At any rate these men will hopefully – and likely will – tear the roof off of the Barclays Centre.

The most intriguing part of this match-up is Brock Lesnar possibly leaving WWE. In the event that Lesnar loses his championship this Sunday, Heyman is promising the pair will leave WWE. With the rumours of Lesnar returning to UFC to face Jon Jones this is a massive stipulation. However the expectation is for Lesnar to retain his title this Sunday and remain with WWE until at least Wrestlemania. Furthering the intrigue though is the revelation that WWE is keeping the finish of the match completely under wraps. That itself leaves many possibilities in place. It also adds an aspect of doubt to whether or not Lesnar will actually retain his belt. For me that only makes this match that little bit more exciting.

With that this article looks at a few bold potential finishes to that very match. As a disclaimer these are not predictions just some bold possibilities. For my Summerslam 2017 match predictions check out my article below!

...

How good is Samoa Joe? Seriously how has any one involved in the wrestling world doubted this man’s limitless capabilities. While Joe is 38 years old he is 2017’s breakout star and his stock is only going in one direction.

The next stop for Joe in his fantastic main roster run thus far is the main event of Summerslam. Exactly where the Samoan Submission Machine belongs. Samoa Joe will challenge for the Universal Championship in a highly anticipated contest. As he has done so often in his career Joe will undoubtedly exceed expectations and steal the show. Even in a crowded environment Joe’s skill will allow him to stick out in the match as a highlight.

Following this up with an arguably surprise win for Joe is the best route for WWE. This article looks at just why exactly that is the case.

The Brock Lesnar Rub

Brock Lesnar has faced many huge opponents since returning the night after Wrestlemania 28. From John Cena and Triple H to The Undertaker and Goldberg, Lesnar has faced a plethora of legends. Lesnar has yet to put over a younger/up and coming talent however. While the three former Shield members have faced Lesnar, none have gone over the Beast Incarnate.

Most expect Reigns to get this rub however what is the point? Reigns has already cleanly retired the Undertaker (seemingly), arguably the greatest of all time. A victory over Lesnar does not compare. For Joe however a win over Lesnar will be another career defining moment. Joe does not need to pin Brock at Summerslam, but if he does he officially becomes RAW’s biggest star. Even if Joe pins Strowman or Reigns which is much more likely as long as he performs against the Beast like he did at Great Balls of Fire, Joe will go down in history as the man who slew the Beast.

Great Balls of Fire proved Joe’s potential as a mega star. A win at Summerslam over Lesnar makes him a mega star. We already adore Joe and see him among the best of the best. A win at Summerslam however will surely draw the attention of many casual and more mainstream fans putting the cherry on top of the massive rub Joe will gain from winning at the ‘Biggest Party of the Summer’.

For a more in depth look at Lesnar and his ability to turn talents into super stars check out the article below written by yours truly.

WWE Needs A Mega Star

This point follows up from the previous. Brock Lesnar’s rub already puts Joe in the position of being the man on RAW. However the victory in general will create a mega star out of a man with the skill of one. Joe feels special and he is. But with a win at Summerslam he will be recognised on a wider scale as the star he is.

WWE has a serious lack of huge stars in today’s roster. With Undertaker gone and Triple H’s, John Cena’s and Brock Lesnar’s careers winding down WWE is in a vulnerable position. They need to start making an effort to create these huge stars and stop focussing purely on Roman Reigns. Finn Bálor and Shinsuke Nakamura can be 2 huge stars for WWE but simply are not being used correctly. Kevin Owens, Bray Wyatt and others are more talents who can be these huge stars for WWE but are not getting the chance to be and need to have more effort put into them by WWE.

At this moment however WWE has a chance to immediately create a star. Or at the very least send him on his way to super-stardom. Braun Strowman can potentially gain this from a victory also. But Strowman has much more time than Joe and as of this writing Joe is 10x the performer Strowman is. As much as we all love the Monster Among Men. WWE cannot miss this opportunity. WWE has mishandled so many stars. A lot of those stars still have many opportunities left. But as of right now Samoa Joe must be the priority. A win at Summerslam could well lead to such an iconic star being made that in 5 years Joe gets what he wants in the form of a Brock Lesnar schedule.
