As previously reported, Dave Sahadi, who had been working the past decade as the Director and Producer for Impact Wrestling, was let go by the company two weeks ago.

Sahadi came to the company and worked in post-production until March 2006 before being promoted to Director of Impact. Dave Meltzer reported in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter that during his time with the company, he had taken five different pay cuts — four with the old regime and one with the new one to help money issues the company have had.

Sahadi was also owed $24,000 and $39,000 when the company was sold to Anthem, which he never collected. The idea was that he wanted to start a new clean slate with the new ownership but he was instead fired shortly after and replaced by Scott D’Amore’s buddy, Michael Vedder.

Sahadi’s release was described as a “budget cut.”

According to PWInsider, both John “Big” Gaburick and Dutch Mantel are expected to be leaving Impact Wrestling very soon.

The word making the rounds among talents is that Gaburick will officially be leaving at the first of next month. Anthem kept Gaburick on as a consultant and was working at television tapings but he was there more as insurance in case the Jeff Jarrett regime didn’t work out. With Scott D’Amore and Don Callis taking over operations, Gaburick will now be exiting.

In regards to Mantel, one source has stated that he’s already been let go but we are unable to confirm those claims at the time. Regardless, he is expected to leave next year if he hasn’t already.

Matt Hardy’s application for the ownership of the “BROKEN” character has reached the publication stage, according to PWInsider.

Anthem now has a 30-day period to file an opposition. If Anthem doesn’t respond by December 15th, Hardy will legally own the gimmick on December 19th. From there, Hardy will be allowed to use it in WWE or any other company he chooses.

Jeff Jarrett Responds To Impact Terminating Him

As we reported earlier today, Impact Wrestling has officially severed all ties with Jeff Jarrett and Global Force Wrestling. When asked for his response to the situation, Jarrett had the following to say:

“Anthem is out of money.”

In response, Anthem commented:

“That statement is inaccurate. Anthem and IMPACT Wrestling are looking forward to a successful 6-day tour in Ottawa, Nov. 5-10, and much more.”

At this point, who the hell knows what’s really going on with these people. All we know for sure is that the drama never ends with Impact Wrestling; they are the story that keeps on giving, and not in a good way.

Impact Wrestling One Night Only Spoilers

Over the weekend Impact Wrestling, in partnership with Imperial Wrestling Revolution, taped a One Night Only PPV. The show is scheduled to air sometime in January and will apparently be titled When Worlds Collide

With that being said, Anthem and Impact Wrestling announced that they will be introducing Impact Pizza during a press conference/media call on Friday in Ottawa.

Wrestling Stars Bobby Lashley & Eli Drake to Taste First-Ever IMPACT PIZZA & Drink

IMPACT Wrestling and Crust & Crate Fast Fired Pizza Pub have announced a press conference for Friday, October 20, starting at 3pm ET at Crust & Crate, located at 105-325 Marche Way, in the Lansdowne Park area of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.

The two companies will announce details of the formal partnership over the next month, as IMPACT Wrestling will hold six back-to-back nights of high-flying pro wrestling action, kicking off Sunday night, November 5, with Bound For Glory – the company’s premier annual pay-per-view, which will be broadcast live worldwide.

Bound For Glory will be held at Aberdeen Pavilion in Ottawa, and there will be wrestling shows Monday through Friday, November 6-10, at Aberdeen Pavilion for the company’s weekly TV show, which airs every Thursday night on Pop TV in the U.S., and the Fight Network and GameTV in Canada.

IMPACT superstar Bobby Lashley and reigning IMPACT World Champion Eli Drake will attend the Press Conference, along with representatives from Crust & Crate, who will serve as the Title Partner with IMPACT Wrestling over the next month.

At the Press Conference, Crust & Crate Fast Fired Pizza Pub will unveil the first-ever IMPACT PIZZA – with Lashley and Drake set to eat slices from the inaugural IMPACT PIZZA, along with the IMPACT official signature beverage. George Hanna, President, Gabriel Pizza Franchise Corporation also will be available to discuss the launch of both the IMPACT PIZZA and Drink, which will be available exclusively at Crust & Crate from November 4-10.

Crust & Crate will serve as the host for the official post-IMPACT party every night from November 5-10, with nightly appearances by select members of the IMPACT roster.

The media and public are invited to the press conference and tasting, starting at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 20. Lashley and Drake will be in Ottawa on Thursday and Friday, October 19-20, and this will be their only autograph signing while in Ottawa.

We noted last week that Impact Wrestling is phasing out the ‘GFW’ name, as the company never completed the deal with Jeff Jarrett to own the rights to owning it. The belief is that Jarrett will be back with the company, but privately and no one is certain of anything.

Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer reports that the long-term goal is to make Impact a Canadian company because Anthem is based in Toronto and they believe they can have some economic advantages there. There had been some sentiment against another re-branding and continuing to use the ‘GFW’ name but it appears that is no longer an issue moving forward.

The feeling is that the company wants to get away from the negativity associated with the “TNA” name and as long as they are based in Orlando, that will never change.

Russo is joined on today’s show by his co-host Jeff Lane.

Russo points out that five hours of WWE programming each week is the equivalent of ten episodes of Seinfeld, or five hours of The Sopranos. He can’t even begin to think about how much stuff happens through five hours of Sopranos, but absolutely nothing happened on RAW and Smackdown Live this week.

He was making excuses early on for RAW, since they were treading water just to get to their big show on Sunday. Then Smackdown Live was just as bad or worse and he realized that this was just a lack of effort from WWE’s creative team. He says WWE put out five hours of ‘miserable’ television this week, and they should be ashamed of themselves.

Apparently Anthem’s Ed Nordholm has gone on the record as saying that Impact Wrestling will now be embracing the athletic, in-ring side of professional wrestling. Russo says the problem with the wrestling business is that nobody in it has a clue what they’re doing. Lane says that in-ring action has never made a profit, and Russo agrees saying that 93,000 people didn’t tune into WrestleMania to watch the athletic ability of Hulk Hogan and Andre The Giant.

Jim Cornette is already done with Impact Wrestling, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer.

It’s being said that there is no heat between Anthem and Cornette. Cornette agreed to work one set of television tapings but Jeff Jarrett had asked him to work another set and the upcoming Bound for Glory event. Cornette is unable to travel to Canada and won’t be used at the upcoming Bound for Glory show.

The creative team is now being ran by Scott D’Amore and Sonjay Dutt now that Jarrett is no longer around. They are planning on focusing more on the in-ring action and less on authority figure angles, which is what Cornette was brought in for.

Cornette has agreed to go to Nashville and tape whatever storyline they needed for his exit. Nothing right now is set in that regard.
