Former WWE Diva AJ Lee Talks About Living With Mental Illness

While speaking to Chicago Magazine, former WWE Diva AJ Lee had some inspirational words for people battling mental illness.

“Some people might think it’s an illness but sometimes it does feel like an extra ability. I think when it’s a part of you, you can see it in other people. I think the fans saw it through the television. And I would see them outside the stands and they’d confide in me about their anxiety, about cutting themselves, about their suicide attempt, and [how] seeing my character on TV made them feel less alone.

As that happened more and more, I realized it was my responsibility to embrace that and be open to them and let them know that they weren’t wrong and they were seeing something that was very similar in me. They could see right through to my soul. So to connect with fans and be even more open was very important to me. Even the fans, I can remember their faces at the signings. I want them to know that we’re similar in that way.”

WWE Wants CM Punk Back In The Company

WWE apparently wants CM Punk to return to the company, according to Dave Meltzer of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter.

While speaking about Mauro Ranallo’s return to the company, he wrote about how some people will leave the company on horrible terms but most end up returning. Meltzer wrote, “That’s why, no matter what is said, WWE wants C.M. Punk back and even though Punk was adamant about never doing it, history tells you time heals a lot of wounds.”

Despite WWE wanting Punk to return the company, he apparently has no intentions on it according to his wife, AJ Lee. During her recent book tour, AJ Lee said that she misses wrestling but her husband does not. It’s also worth noting that Punk is still going through a legal battle with WWE’s doctor Chris Amann, so it looks like a return anytime in the near future won’t be happening.

Nikki Bella breaks AJ Lee’s record

This monday’s Raw saw Charlotte defeat Nikki Bella for the Divas Championship but it was reversed by Stephanie McMahon as Bella Twins had pulled “twin magic” and Charlotte had actually pinned Nikki’s sister Brie.
Nikki Bella is now set to pass the record set by AJ Lee as the longest reigning Divas Champion on Tuesday morning. Charlotte, however, will get her rematch at Night of Champions where Nikki would lose her title if she gets counted out or disqualified.
Nikki Bella posted the following on her Instagram account after the victory:
“I made history! Your Longest Reigning Divas Champion in WWE History! Words can’t even describe how I feel right now! I am so beyond blessed and honored! Tonight goes out to my Pop Pop. He taught me so much. He taught me to always be a hard worker, be respectable and kind to others, put God first and family second, and always stay humble. He always told me he was proud of me, I’ll never forget that. He lead by example. I wish I could call him right now and tell him about this moment but instead I’ll look above me and pray and know he was watching and is listening. Never give up on your dreams because if you have heart and passion they will come true! Pop Pop I can just imagine your smile right now and the big south Philly hug I would have gotten! Thank you for teaching me to be a strong, hard working, independent woman! I love you so much, always and forever! As well as my #BellaArmy I would be nothing without you all! You created Nikki Bella, Team Bella and the Divas Revolution! None of this wouldn’t exist without your voices! Thank you!
