WWE NXT held television tapings at Full Sail University on Friday, June 23. The shows taped are expected to air June 28, July 5, and July 12. It was noted that some of these matches may have been taped out of order.

Mae Young Classic Qualifier: Bianca Blair defeated Aliyah. Reports said this didn’t appear to be part of the June 28 show, though it was taped. Blair won with a modified White Noise across the knee.

June 28 Episode

The Velveteen Dream defeated Ho Ho Lun. Quick match won with the elbow.

Oney Lorcan vs. Hideo Itami was stopped. At the start of the match, Lorcan busted open Itami hardway with an uppercut. Trainers worked on him and there was a lot of blood on the mat. Possible broken nose. They stopped the match and had to change the ring apron. Itami did not look happy.

Mae Young Classic Qualifier: Vanessa Borne (Daniele Kamela) defeated Jayme Hachey (former SHINE Tag Champion Jayme Jameson). Borne won a very quick match with a tilt-o-whirl slam.

Johnny Gargano came back and cut a promo. We covered this return last night on the site. Gargano basically said that he never saw it coming from a guy (Ciampa) that he would take a bullet for. He talked about not dwelling in the past and wanting to be ready for NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn III.

Hideo Itami defeated Oney Lorcan, looking to be a reset from their earlier bout. Itami won with the GTS. Itami calledout Kassius Ohno after the match. As they were face to face, Nikki Cross distracted them, allowing SAnitY to come out and lay both men out.

No Way Jose defeated Cezar Bozoni in a very quick match. Andrade Almas came out, at the direction of Thea Trinidad, and attacked Bozoni after the match. Jose ran back out to make the save.

This show will likely feature the Asuka/Cross match that was the final filmed match of the tapings (more on that later in the report).

July 5 Episode

SAnitY defeated Hideo Itami and Kassius Ohno. Itami was hit with a running crossbody by Dain and took the pinfall after he and Ohno had problems getting along throughout the match. Afterwards, the two of them had words.

* Oney Lorcan def. Danny Burch. Burch was busted open from an uppercut. Lots of uppercuts back and forth in a hard hitting match. Lorcan won with a neckbreaker. Crowd was really into this one. They shook hands afterwards with Bruch asking for one more match and Lorcan accepting.

Strong had gone outside the ring and started celebrated with his wife, who was ringisde. The match was restarted and Roode went on to retain after the Glorious DDT. Sounds like it was an excellent match.

July 12 Episode

NXT Tag Team Champions The Authors of Pain defeated Heavy Machinery to retain the tag team titles. SAnitY (no Eric Young) confronted The Authors after the bout. Pages from Paul Ellering’s book fell from the rafters as they went face to face.
