As the wrestling landscape continues to evolve, as PWMania.com previously relayed, the details from Monday night’s WWE SmackDown taping unveiled that “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes was set to compete against “Marquee match” Jey Uso in an Undisputed WWE Championship #1 Aspirant’s Match.

As noted by the full spoilers for the edition, Rhodes emerged victorious in this matchup and will now face Sami Zayn for the Undisputed WWE Title the week ahead on RAW.

Next week’s show of RAW will take place at the Allstate Facility in Chicago, Illinois.

Although this has not yet been acknowledged, the situation was relayed concluding week that CM Punk has been actively pushing for his return to WWE TV for Monday’s RAW. Punk, a Chicago native, has been absent from WWE television since the RAW following The showcase of the immortals 42, where he hinted at a potential showdown with Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Crown in the future.

Additionally, the program has set up a non-crown showdown for the week ahead’s SmackDown between WWE United States Defending champion Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes. WWE SmackDown will take place at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, next week.
