He’s Back: AEW Star Returning To Action After 8+ Month Hiatus

He’s back. Injuries are one of the worst things that can happen to any wrestler. You never want to see someone put on the shelf and the question instantly becomes how long it might be before the injured star can get back in the ring. That can take a very long time, but the big return is often worth it. Now we know when another star is going to be back after a long time away. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: It Grows: Two Big Matches Added To AEW Revolution This week on AEW Dynamite, Adam Cole announced that he will be returning to the ring next month. Cole’s return will take place on the Dynamite before the premiere of AEW All-Access at some point in March. Cole has not wrestled since Forbidden Door in June 2022, having suffered multiple concussions. There is no word on who Cole’s opponent is going to be. Cole has been a star in AEW. She’s worth it? One of the bigger moments of the wrestling year so far was the debut of Mercedes Mone, formerly known as Sasha Banks during her time in WWE, in New Japan Pro Wrestling. This was Mone’s first wrestling appearance in about seven months after walking out on WWE. It was a big acquisition for New Japan but now we know a little something else about the appearance. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the rumor, which has begun circulating again, is inaccurate, as Mone is not making as much as Jericho. This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. A former WWE champion, who has been injured for quite some time, may be returning to the ring before WrestleMania 39. In a response to a fan on his Facebook Stories, wrestling bootmaker Jose G Sanz stated that Randy Orton recently contacted him about making boots for his return to the ring. He said the following: “I haven’t made them yet but Randy Orton contacted me via email for his return. Currently, Drew McIntyre and Bray Wyatt are some of the biggest superstars. Following the match, the Bloodline attacked Owens, with Reigns telling Sami Zayn to attack Owens. Instead, Zayn turned on Reigns by hitting him with a chair. That could be worse. There are all kinds of injuries in wrestling and some of them are a lot more severe than others. You never know when you are going to see someone get hurt and put on the shelf for a long time. That is the kind of thing that can derail a lot of plans, but thankfully in this situation it seems that the injury is only going to cause a minor delay instead of a big change. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: He’s In For Now: Former WWE Star Set For AEW Debut This week, AEW announced that Britt Baker had suffered an undisclosed injury and would be pulled from her scheduled triple threat match along with Toni Storm and Ruby Soho. Baker did appear during the match, offering a distraction to Storm so Soho could pick up the win. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Baker’s injury “wasn’t serious” and she should be returning to the ring soon. Maybe Later: Raw XXX Match Canceled When Segment Goes “Extremely” Long

You can’t fit everything in. This week’s edition of Monday Night Raw was the Raw XXX special. The show celebrated thirty years of Monday Night Raw, which saw a stacked show. The card featured a pair of title matches, along with a huge grudge match several weeks in the making. However, one of those things did not happen as something else took up too much time. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Return: Brock Lesnar Returns, Interferes In Main Event On Monday Night Raw A scheduled cage match between Bayley and Becky Lynch did not take place on Raw XXX. While the two came to the cage, the rest of Damage Ctrl attacked Lynch and left her laying with the match never starting. According to Fightful Select and later PWInsider.com, the match was cut due to the Trial Of Sami Zayn segment running long. Other unnamed segments were reportedly cut down as well.
