BREAKING: NXT Suspends Three Stars After Assaulting Referee

September 28, 2022

They’re gone for a bit. With so many wrestlers on any of the WWE rosters, it can be difficult to find something for all of them to do. There are only so many ways around this problem, with one of the simplest being to have less wrestlers. WWE has already let a bunch of wrestlers go in recent years, but now there are three more who will not be around for the time being. The main event of this week’s edition of NXT saw Brooks Jensen and Josh Briggs defeat Gallus in a Pub Rules match. Following the match, Gallus attacked a referee and were arrested to end the show. NXT’s Twitter has sent out an announcement saying that the team was suspended indefinitely. Gallus moved to NXT from NXT UK in July and has challenged for the NXT Tag Team Titles. BREAKING: #Gallus have been suspended indefinitely#WWENXT @Joe_Coffey @WolfgangYoung @m_coffey90 pic.twitter.com/V5Ztp8hK4r — WWE NXT (@WWENXT) September 28, 2022 Opinion: This is an interesting way to go and I’m not sure what is happening with Ga..

NXT UK Results – August 4, 2022

August 5, 2022

NXT UK Date: August 4, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things should be getting a bit more energized around here as we had the big showdown for the United Kingdom Title last week. Ilja Dragunov is going to need a fresh opponent after dispatching Wolfgang and a bigger one would be nice. This week is a title week also, as we have Meiko Satomura defending the Women’s Title against Sarray. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov for a chat….and he’s on crutches. Dragunov says he suffered a severe ankle injury during his title defense last week (insert clip here) and that means he cannot defend his title. Therefore it has to be vacated, but he isn’t going to talk about how hard this is for him. Everyone back there is fighting hard every day and there is nothing special about him. He doesn’t regret anything he did in the ring and when he looks around the ring, there are bits of his so..

NXT United Kingdom Title Vacated, Tournament To Be Held

August 4, 2022

That’s one way to get it off of him. Titles are one of the most important parts of any wrestling show, as they are the way to determine the best around. A wrestler might be the reigning champion or chasing the title and that can often be the centerpiece of any promotion. That means a title change can be a huge moment, but unfortunately this one did not go as originally intended. This week on NXT UK, United Kingdom Champion Ilja Dragunov was forced to vacate his championship due to an injury suffered in his recent title defense against Wolfgang. As a result, an eight man tournament will be held to crown the new champion. This is the first time in the title’s history that the title has been vacant for any reason, with Dragunov’s reign ending at 347 days. Here are the brackets for the tournament: Oliver Carter vs. Charlie Dempsey Trent Seven vs. Wolfgang Tyler Bate vs. Kenny Williams Mark Andrews vs. Joe Coffey Opinion: This is one of those things that is never good but sometimes it j..

NXT UK Results – July 28, 2022

August 2, 2022

NXT UK Date: July 28, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s title time again this week as Ilja Dragunov remembers that he is the United Kingdom Champion and defends against Wolfgang. Gallus has been doing better in recent weeks with Mark Coffey winning the Heritage Cup so maybe we are in for some more of their momentum. Other than that, I’m sure it will be the usual random assortment around here. Let’s get to it. The opening video runs down tonight’s card. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Josh Briggs/Brooks Jensen vs. Wild Boar/Mark Andrews Boar and Andrews, who commentary says have been friends for years, are challenging. Boar cranks on Jensen’s arm to start and Andrews comes in to work on the knee. A blind tag brings Briggs in though and a double shoulder runs Boar over. It’s back to Andrews, who gets planted with an assisted powerslam and the chinlock goes on. Briggs comes back in for a chinlock of his own but thr..

Hand It Over: Record Setting Title Reign Comes To An End In Upset

July 15, 2022

The gold it is a changing. There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them have a unique setup that allow for some variation. It can be nice to have something different, as you can only do so many things with a standard championship format. One of those titles changed hands this week, with a record setting reign coming to an end after a bit of an upset. The main event of this week’s NXT UK saw Mark Coffey defeat Noam Dar to win the NXT Heritage Cup. Coffey defeated Dar two falls to one in the sixth and final round. The win ends Dar’s reign after 259 days, the longest in the title’s history. Coffey’s title win marks the first singles title win of his NXT UK career, though he is a former NXT UK Tag Team Champion with Wolfgang. Opinion: This is something that had to happen and it makes sense given Gallus’ issues as of late. Coffey winning the title opens up some doors for him as he wins something of his own and might even set up a title match against his brother Joe do..

NXT UK Results – February 17, 2022

February 18, 2022

NXT UK Date: February 17, 2022 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness Things toned down a bit last week after back to back title match weeks. This time around seems to be more of the former as well, with the main event being a grudge match between Wolfgang and Jordan Devlin. Other than that, it’s hard to say what we might be getting around here week to week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Sam Gradwell vs. Kenny Williams Hold on though as Williams, in street clothes, is out on crutches. There was a terrible accident so the match cannot happen. Hold on to that holding on though as Sid Scala pops up on screen to say there is no evidence of Williams being injured, so start the match. Gradwell pulls him in and hammers away to start as Williams is rocked early. A forearm out of the corner staggers Gradwell and a rake to the eyes lets Williams hit a rebound lariat. The cravate goes on for a bit before Williams rakes at the back. Grad..

December 31, 2021

NXT UK Date: December30, 2021 Hosts: Pretty Deadly It’s the final show of the year and for the second week in a row, it’s time for a Best Of special. The good thing is that NXT UK has quite the collection to pick from, as this was a pretty awesome year for them. Odds are we’ll be seeing a lot of Ilja Dragunov here, plus some more of the bigger names from NXT UK. Let’s get to it. As usual, I’ll be posting the full versions of the matches rather than the clipped ones. Pretty Deadly welcomes us to the show and throws us to the greatest moment of all time. We recap Pretty Deadly becoming #1 contenders to the Tag Team Titles and setting up their title shot against Gallus. From February 25. Tag Team Titles: Pretty Deadly vs. Gallus Gallus is defending and Mark Coffey drives Sam Stoker into the corner to start. It’s off to Lewis Howley, who is armdragged into an armbar without much effort. Wolfgang takes Howley down by the arm as well and there’s the same thing to Stoker. Therefore it’s..

NXT UK Results – October 28, 2021

October 29, 2021

NXT UK Date: October 28, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness It’s time for another title match and this week that means the Heritage Cup is on the line. After spending what has felt like the better part of forever crowning a new #1 contender, it is time for Tyler Bate to defend the Heritage Cup against Noam Dar. Other than that, I’m not sure what really matters because I’m too relieved that the tournament stuff is finally over. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Mark Coffey vs. Rohan Raja Wolfgang and Teoman are the seconds. Coffey takes him down into the armbar to start but Raja reverses, meaning it’s time to go to the ropes. Raja Codebreakers the arm and the fans are not pleased, though Coffey taking him into the corner makes it a bit better. Not that it matters though as Raja goes right back to the arm and some knees in the corner get two. The seated armbar goes on but Coffey comes back with a clothesline and middle rop..

October 8, 2021

NXT UK Date: October 7, 2021 Location: BT Sports Studios, London, England Commentators: Andy Shepherd, Nigel McGuinness Things are about to change again in a good way as the fans are going to be returning to the show rather soon. The taping has already taken place and now we get to see just how the show can work with an audience. As for tonight, it is FINALLY the end of the Heritage Cup #1 contenders tournament as Noam Dar faces Wolfgang. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the tournament to get us to the finals. Opening sequence. Jinny vs. Emilia McKenzie Joseph Conners is here with Jinny. They fight over wrist control to start until Jinny flips her over for two. A front facelock has Jinny in some trouble but she reverses into a leg crank and elbows at the head. McKenzie is back up with a dropkick and fisherman’s neckbreaker but can’t grab a German suplex. Instead Jinny twists her down by the arm and puts on an Iron Octopus for the always cool sounding hold. Now it’s off to a..

NXT UK Results – September 23, 2021

September 24, 2021

NXT UK Date: September 23, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd The tournament to crown a new #1 contender to the Heritage Cup is STILL GOING, despite the fact that Tyler Bate could have probably given everyone in the field a shot at this rate. It’s time for another semfinal match this week as we’re finally close to wrapping up. Other than that, stuff will happen. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Heritage Cup #1 Contenders Tournament Semifinals: Teoman vs. Wolfgang Rohan Raja and the rest of Gallus are here too. Round one begins with Wolfgang going simple by hitting him in the face and then knocking Teoman down into the corner. Teoman punches him in the arm and takes it to the mat with a wristlock. A suplex sets up a failed Crossface attempt so Wolfgang is up with a clothesline, setting up the Caber Toss for the first fall at 2:01. Round two begins with Wolfgang hammering away again but missing a charge to crash out to the floor..

NXT UK Results – September 9, 2021

September 10, 2021

NXT UK Date: September 9, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Believe it or not we have a bit of a special episode here, which will feature the Walter vs. Ilja Dragunov rematch from Takeover, albeit with some additional insight, which sounds like talking heads throughout. Other than that, the tournament to crown a new #1 contender to the Heritage Cup continues. Let’s get to it. We open with a quick preview for the show. Opening sequence. Heritage Cup #1 Contenders Tournament First Round: Sam Gradwell vs. Wolfgang Gradwell doesn’t think Wolfgang is much about heritage and calls him a deep fried yogurt. Round one begins with both of them taking their time, including Wolfgang scaring him into the corner. A test of strength goes to Wolfgang and he takes Gradwell down by the wrist. Wolfgang shoulders him out to the floor but they switch places and Gradwell nails a running elbow off the apron to put Wolfgang down. The count is beaten t..

NXT UK Results – August 12, 2021

August 13, 2021

NXT UK Date: August 12, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andrew Shepherd It’s tournament time as we have eight people vying to become the new #1 contender to the Heritage Cup. That alone should take quite a while to cover so hopefully they have something else going on to fill in some of the gaps. I’m not sure what that is going to be, but NXT UK has surprised me before. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Flash Morgan Webster vs. Wolfgang This is fallout from Webster slapping Wolfgang. Webster knocks him into the corner to start but Wolfgang takes him to the mat without much trouble. That means a third slap to Wolfgang so he runs Webster over and grabs a cravate. A dropkick puts Wolfgang on the floor but he sends Webster hard into the barricade. Back in and a hard whip into the corner rocks Webster’s ribs and it’s time for some forearms to make them worse. We hit the nearly required bearhug, followed by the slightly less required abdominal s..

New Tournament Begins Next Week With Special Rules

August 6, 2021

They need someone new. Tournaments are an easy concept in wrestling as anyone can get what you are going for with them. You have a bunch of people in a bracket of some kind and whoever is the most successful or the last wrestler standing gets a prize. That could be just about anything, and now we know what WWE is going to put on the line in its next tournament. This week on NXT UK, a new tournament was announced to crown a #1 contender for the Heritage Cup Title, currently held by Tyler Bate. The eight man tournament will begin next week with the initial first round match, though there is no word on when the finals will be held. The Heritage Cup uses a rounds based system with multiple falls or a knockout being needed to win a match. Here are the brackets: Mark Andrews Noam Dar Kenny Williams Oliver Carter Wolfgang Sam Gradwell Teoman Nathan Frazier The Heritage Cup is rather cool. NXT UK Results – June 17, 2021

June 18, 2021

NXT UK Date: June 17, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd Things might be a bit slower this week as we are coming off a pretty awesome title change last week. Meiko Satomura is the new Women’s Champion, meaning we could be in for something a bit slower this time around. I’m not sure what that is going to mean for the show, but NXT UK is pretty awesome at the moment so they should be fine. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of Meiko Satomura finally ending Kay Lee Ray’s record setting Women’s Title reign last week. Wolfgang vs. Sam Gradwell Before the match, Gradwell makes Big Bad Wolf jokes but is very clear that his house is made of stone. Wolfgang shoulders him down without much trouble to start and grabs an armbar. Back up and Wolfgang’s big whip sends Gradwell into the corner as this is one sided so far. Wolfgang heads up but gets knocked down to the floor, meaning it’s time to grab a shoulder. That doesn’t last long thou..

NXT UK Date: May 20, 2021 Location: BT Studios, London, England Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Andy Shepherd It’s time for a title match as we have A-Kid defending the Heritage Cup against Tyler Bate in their rubber match. That alone should be enough to carry the show but we should be getting some other good stuff around here to make the rest of the show work. If it is like their recent efforts, everything should be fine. Let’s get to it. We open with a video on A-Kid vs. Bate, with Bate becoming a huge star and A-Kid needing to become his own man. Bate needs to win something to get back on top and it’s time for a showdown. Opening sequence. Rampage Brown vs. Wolfgang They trade cravates to start as we hear about their various European championships. Brown hits a dropkick but gets whipped hard into the corner to put him down as well. It’s already time to go outside for the slugout with Wolfgang sending him into the post. A backbreaker gives Wolfgang two back inside and we hit the ..

NXT UK Results – March 13, 2019

NXT UK Date: March 13, 2019 Location: Coventry Skydome Arena, Coventry, England Commentators: Vic Joseph, Nigel McGuinness With less than a month to go before Wrestlemania, it’s time to get things ready for what should be the most obvious title match in years. Tonight Pete Dunne and Walter team up to face the Coffey Brothers in what should be an interesting match. Other than that it’s time to keep setting things up for what is probably coming up after New York. Let’s get to it. Sid Scala and Johnny Saint arrive and promise a big night. Opening sequence. Flash Morgan Webster vs. Wolfgang The Coffey Brothers go to the back as Wolfgang goes after Webster, who comes out with a jumping knee to the face and some right hands. The springboard attempt earns him a face first drop onto the top turnbuckle and a clothesline turns Webster inside out. Update On Toni Storm Potentially Signing A WWE Contract

May 26, 2018

We have an update on independent star Toni Storm potentially signing with WWE via Dave Meltzer and the Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Storm famously took part in the Mae Young Classic last year, ultimately coming short. When she wasn’t signed to WWE after the tournament, many thought she’d never appear in a WWE ring again… but that may be about to change. Storm, a New Zealand native, appears to have signed with WWE. Her new deal is not for the next Mae Young Classic itself, but a U.K, deal similar to that of the U.K. Championship competitors. This contract means that Storm can compete with other promotions, but any time WWE calls for her to compete with them, they take priority. This is the same deal for other talents such as Pete Dunne, Trent Seven, Wolfgang, Tyler Bate and others. We noticed that Storm is listed on advertisements for the upcoming U.K. Championship Tournament, so we expect that she’ll be there in some fashion over the coming weeks. Now while we mention Storm hasn’..
