We are living in a brand new reality in wrestling and that is going to take some getting used to over the next….well years probably. Following the retirement (or forcing out, whichever you prefer) of Vince McMahon, WWE is officially in uncharted waters and the boss is not there to steer the ship. That could create a lot of problems, but that certainly wasn’t the case this week. This week’s Monday Night Raw featured the fallout from Summerslam and happened to be one of the best editions of the show that I have seen in a LONG time. The show felt quite a bit different that anything Monday Night Raw had done in years and you could tell that there was a breath of fresh air to the whole thing. That was the case for a lot of reasons and we are going to look at some of the bigger ones this week. Note that this isn’t meant to be exhaustive, but rather the things that stood out to me the most. The biggest change that stood out was the wrestlers were acting more like humans. How often have you ..
The champ has been here for a long time. WWE has announced that June 2022 will be John Cena month and that the company will be celebrating the superstar to honor the 20th anniversary of his debut. You can see his debut match below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: WWE was forever changed on June 27, 2002, when a then-unknown powerhouse by the name of John Cena stormed onto SmackDown for the very first time. Answering an open challenge issued by Kurt Angle, Cena boldly declared himself an agent of “ruthless aggression” before paint-brushing The Olympic Gold Medalist across the face. The rest, as they say, is history. Sixteen World Title reigns, countless Attitude Adjustments, and numerous Hollywood blockbusters later, Cena’s debut remains a watershed moment in sports-entertainment lore, the introduction of arguably the biggest Superstar of the modern era, if not WWE history. In honor of the upcoming 20-year anniversary of that seminal night, WWE is paying ..

Well now, that’s interesting. Mixed martial arts and wrestling seem to go hand in hand at times. Some wrestlers have gone on to UFC for a successful career and now it’s starting to come back the other way, with names like Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler moving towards a four sided ring instead of the eight sided version. While nothing is confirmed, it seems that we may be seeing another big name sticking his toe into the WWE waters. You can hear Brock Lesnar squirming. [This post contains video, click to play] Former UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Velasquez recently trained at the WWE Performance Center. Velasquez, who turns 36 later this month, hasn’t been mentioned as possibly coming to WWE full time, but he hasn’t had a fight in the UFC in two years and has only fought twice since 2013 due to a variety of injuries, nor does he have a fight scheduled at any point in the near future. Opinion: I don’t know if Velasquez is coming to WWE or not but the idea is rather appealing. He’s ..
