Her Take: Charlotte Explains Why WWE Should Not Unify Titles

That does make sense. Titles are some of the most important parts of any wrestling promotion. They can drive any storyline and identify the wrestlers that the promotion wants to present. A title changing hands can make a huge difference for both a wrestler and the company as a whole, but it can mean even more when one of them goes away. One of the top WWE stars is now explaining why that is a bad thing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Naomi And Mercedes Mone Appear Together In New Advertisement SmackDown Women’s Champion Charlotte was interviewed by the Daytona Beach News-Journal and talked about the possibility of unifying the Raw and SmackDown Women’s Titles. Charlotte said that she was not in favor of unifying the titles, as while it can be special for one woman to have both titles at once, it takes away opportunities for the women. Charlotte is currently scheduled to defend her title against Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 39. There have been some big title unifications. Check out som..

Welcome Back Soon! NXT Announces Two Stars Returning In The Near Future

They’re on the way back. We are less than a month away from the Royal Rumble and that means it is time to start getting the names together for the show’s namesake matches. With sixty names between two matches, WWE is going to need to beef up its rosters rather quickly. That can involve bringing in some more names and that is what they announced this week. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: She’s All Gone Now: More Details On Stephanie McMahon Leaving WWE (Again) Two upcoming returns were announced this week during NXT. First up, Tyler Bate announced that he would be returning on the January 17 episode. Bate was last seen at Worlds Collide, losing a title unification match to Bron Breakker. Later in the show, Stevie Turner, from NXT UK, aired a video announcing that she was now streaming and described herself as the resident data collector. There is no word on when she will be debuting. This was in addition to five stars making their returns on the same show. This could go in a few ways. Check o..

AEW Had Huge Main Event Planned For All Out

They had an idea. AEW has been in the middle of all kinds of changes in recent months and things are only starting to settle down. This has included things behind the scenes as well as in front of the camera, some of which have impacted the other. The company had to make some changes and rewrite some of its original plans. Now we know what one of those original plans was going to be. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original plan for the main event of All Out would have seen CM Punk defending the World Title against Maxwell Jacob Friedman. However, the match never took place as Punk broke his foot, resulting in the creation of the Interim World Title and a unification match taking place at All Out instead. There is no word on if AEW will ever run Punk vs. Friedman again, though Punk is set to be out of action until next spring due to a tricep injury. Opinion: It can be interesting to see what was going on before everything changed and that is what we got to see here. Punk v..

The Cult Of Punksonality: Update On CM Punk’s Return To AEW

That’s a bit of a gap. The AEW World Title scene is in a bit of a unique state at the moment, as there are currently two World Champions. Jon Moxley is the reigning Interim AEW World Champion, but there is also the official AEW World Champion, CM Punk. The Interim title was introduced when Punk was out of action, with a unification match coming up. Now we might have an idea of when that is coming. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Punk is expected to be back at either All Out in September or Full Gear in November, though it is not clear when the unification match will take place. Punk has been out of action since early June with an injury, forcing the creation of the Interim Title. There is no word on if Punk will be returning to television before either pay per view match. Opinion: This is probably the most likely scenario, though it is a bit hard to imagine that Punk will be gone all the way into November. That is quite the long time to be out of action and still officially be..

There Is It: Main Event Set For AEW Forbidden Door

That’s the next big one. AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works as it has brought in a variety of different changes. This includes bringing in several new wrestlers to the fold, as AEW has worked together with a variety of promotions over its existence. That will include the upcoming Forbidden Door event, and now we know what one of the biggest matches on the card will be. Over the weekend, Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Hirooki Goto at New Japan’s Dominion event. As a result, Tanahashi has advanced to Forbidden Door on June 26 where he will face Jon Moxley to crown the new AEW Interim World Champion. The title was introduced when reigning World Champion CM Punk was injured, forcing him to take time off. Punk will face the winner in a unification match at some point in the future. Opinion: This probably isn’t the biggest surprise and that isn’t he worst thing. Putting an all time legend like Tanahashi in the show’s main event is a good idea and the match with Moxley will almos..

Monday Night Raw Date: May 23, 2022 Location: Ford Center, Evansville, Indiana Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re in a bit of a different era these days, as we now have unified Tag Team Champions, plus the lack of Sasha Banks and Naomi. I know WWE got their chance to complain about Banks and Naomi last week, but why do it once when you can do it again? Other than that, we might actually get something new set for the pay per view next weekend. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the Usos beating RKBro to win the Raw Tag Team Titles. The Bloodline wrecked RKBro after the match. Here is Riddle for a chat. Riddle talks about how things have been hard for Randy Orton in the last few years. His back was messed up before the unification match and he could barely walk. Riddle isn’t happy with “that tribal piece of trash” Roman Reigns and he wants revenge on all of the Bloodline. Vengeance is sworn and he knows that Orton is watching at home. The RKBro chants ta..

WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE May Have Spoiled Major Title Change

Can we get a warning next time? There is a lot going on at any given point in WWE and sometimes the company builds on the idea of wondering what they are going to do next. In theory, this is going to draw interest in what is going on and there can be some great drama as a result. WWE was trying to do that this week but they might have accidentally spoiled it in advance. The main event of this week’s SmackDown was a Tag Team Title unification match between the Usos and RKBro. The Usos would win the match to unify the titles, becoming the first sole WWE Tag Team Champions since 2016. However, WWE’s United Kingdom Facebook page may have accidentally spoiled the result. An image has appeared on Twitter, showing a since deleted post from the account with the Usos holding both sets of titles before SmackDown began. The post was since restored, though no such photo of RKBro was ever posted. WWE UK Facebook Page accidentally posted this and deleted it immediately. Oh Boyy ? pic.twitter.com..

Huge Title Change On SmackDown, Two Titles Might Be Going Away

History has been made! Title changes are some of the most important things that you will see in wrestling, though some of them are a lot bigger than others. You know one of the bigger ones when you see them and the right kind of change can make a huge difference for everyone involved. That was the case again this week, as not only did a title change happen, but a title might have been eliminated. The main event of this week’s edition of SmackDown saw the Usos defeat RKBro to both retain the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and win the Raw Tag Team Titles. The match was billed as a unification match, though it is not clear if one of the sets of titles will be going away. This match was originally announced for WrestleMania Backlash before Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre were added to make it a six man tag. Opinion: I have no idea what to expect from this as you never know what a unification will mean in WWE’s minds. This is the kind of thing that sounds good on paper, but I have a hard time b..

SmackDown Results – May 20, 2022

Smackdown Date: May 20, 2022 Location: Van Andel Arena, Grand Rapids, Michigan Commentators: Pat McAfee, Michael Cole We are about two weeks away from Hell In A Cell and I think that means you know what you’re getting. The big story tonight is the Tag Team Title unification match between RKBro and the Usos, which will probably get quite a bit of hype. Other than that, we have a lot more to cover before the pay per view so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Here is the Bloodline to get things going, with Michael Cole saying that if the Usos unify the titles, it will establish the Bloodline as the greatest faction in WWE history. Roman Reigns tells the fans to acknowledge him and then has Paul Heyman tell the people why this night is so important. Heyman talks about how the Bloodline is amazing, including Roman Reigns, who is better than Hogan, Austin, Sammartino and Cena. Tonight though, the Usos are unifying the Tag Team Titles and beating the best team on Raw to become the greates..

When 4 become 2. On tonight’s episode of SmackDown, the much anticipated Tag Team Championship unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos was finally set. The match will be taking place on next week’s edition of Smackdown. You can see the match being accepted below: [This post contains video, click to play] From WWE.com: The Winner Take All Tag Team Title Unification Match between RK-Bro and The Usos is back on and set for Friday Night SmackDown on May 20. Originally slated for WrestleMania Backlash, the budding rivalry between Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre converted the clash into a Six-Man Tag Team showdown. The Bloodline got the best of the newly-formed trio, but Riddle, Randy Orgon & McIntyre showed they could push the blue brand champions to the absolute limit. So will The Bloodline be leaving SmackDown next week with all the gold, or can RK-Bro make those dreams go up in smoke? Editor’s Opinion: We reported earlier today that it was a rumor that the unification of th..

SmackDown Results – May 13, 2022

Smackdown Date: May 13, 2022 Location: Mohegan Sun Arena, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We’re fresh off of Wrestlemania Backlash and the biggest story coming out of the show is Ronda Rousey breaking Charlotte’s arm to become the new Smackdown Women’s Champion. Other than that, Roman Reigns continued to dominate and has pretty much no one left in front of him. That isn’t good with the Cell in less than a month. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of the six man main event at Wrestlemania Backlash, with Roman Reigns spearing Riddle for the pin. Here is RKBro to get things going. Riddle takes the blame for the loss on Sunday but they want Roman Reigns out here right now to let the Usos make the Tag Team Title unification match. Instead, here is Sami Zayn, in a Bloodline shirt, to answer. As the locker room fleader and representing the Bloodline, no one wants this unification match. Zayn thinks the Raw Tag Team Champions need to go back to Raw, but..

RUMOR: WWE Not Unifying Tag Team Titles

This is a rumor so take it for what it’s worth. According to a report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is now changing its current storyline and is not planning to unify the tag team championships. Before Wrestlemania Backlash, the company was planning to have a tag team championship unification match between RK-Bro and The Usos. However, those plans were changed, and a 6-man match between RK-Bro & Drew McIntyre and The Bloodline took place. The plan is still for the two teams to have a match, perhaps as early as Hell in a Cell in June, but for each team to continue holding its tag team championship. Editor’s Opinion: As with everything that involves the future, I will believe it when I see it. However, I can see why WWE would not want to unify the Tag Team titles, as there are a lot of superstars on both raw and SmackDown who are not doing a lot right now. Having multiple tag team championships allows more storylines and more competitors to be featured on televis..

They Do Have A Plan: Update On WWE Tag Team Title Unification Match

They do have a plan. There are a lot of titles in WWE at the moment and that can cause some issues as having too many people carrying championships can water down their status. That seems to be the case again in WWE, at least in a certain division, so WWE seems to be doing something about it. At least in theory that is, as they might have a way out of the change. One of the original main events for WrestleMania Backlash was to have seen Raw Tag Team Champions RKBro vs. SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos in a title unification match. The match was eventually changed to a non-title six man tag, though RKBro mentioned the match again on Monday Night Raw after WrestleMania Backlash. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is still planning to have the match, but no title change is planned, meaning some sort of no contest or double countout/double disqualification is expected. There is no word on when the match will take place. Opinion: I would like to believe that WWE has something..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – May 9, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: May 9, 2022 Location: XL Center, Hartford, Connecticut Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We’re done with Wrestlemania Backlash and now it is time to start getting ready for Hell In A Cell. This means that we are likely in for MORE rematches, as WWE continues to get more time out of their one set of ideas. Not much happened last night on the Raw side, but Cody Rhodes’ rise continues. Let’s get to it. We open with a recap of last night’s main event, with Roman Reigns pinning Riddle so the Bloodline could beat RKBro/Drew McIntyre. Here is RKBro for a chat. Randy Orton talks about how they came up short last night, but that was just a battle and they will win the war. The original plan was for a Tag Team Title unification match, but Roman Reigns cut that off because he knows the Usos can’t beat RKBro. That’s why they’re going to Smackdown this week and DEMANDING that Reigns allow the match. If Reigns doesn’t say yes, it shows how little he beli..

Backstage News On Plans For WrestleMania Backlash Main Event

So that was the plan? We are coming up on WrestleMania Backlash which is always in a tough spot. WWE is trying to follow up on WrestleMania while also doing something to get things off on a new foot. That is a rather tricky balancing act and WWE has the card all set up. The show has a bit of an interesting main event, and now we know what WWE was thinking when they set it up. One of the main events of WrestleMania Backlash will see RKBro/Drew McIntyre vs. the Bloodline. The match was originally a Tag Team Title unification match between RKBro and the Usos but Roman Reigns and McIntyre were added to make it a non-title six man. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the six man tag was always the plan for the match, even with the Tag Team Title match being announced. McIntyre vs. Reigns is still planned for later this year but there is no word on if the Tag Team Title unification match is still planned. Opinion: This makes me all the more confused, as I’m not sure why WWE wou..

Before Diamond Mine, Strong was a part of The Undisputed Era, which consisted of himself, Adam Cole, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish. After the group disbanded, Cole, O’Reilly, and Bobby Fish would sign with AEW. We will continue to monitor this story and provide any updates provided to us. Editor’s Opinion: Does this..

WWE Makes Major Change To WrestleMania Backlash Card, Top Match Off

Now it’s bigger. We are just over two weeks away from WWE’s WrestleMania Backlash pay per view but WWE has not exactly put much on the card. The show was lacking a main event, though the unification match between the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Champions did seem important. Now we know the show’s main event and it is a little bit different. This week on WWE SmackDown, Roman Reigns interrupted a contract signing between RKBro and the Usos for the Tag Team Title unification match at WrestleMania Backlash. Drew McIntyre came out and helped fight off Reigns and the Usos. Later, Reigns’ special counsel Paul Heyman told Adam Pearce to make a six man tag for the WrestleMania Backlash rather than the Tag Team Title match. The new match was made later in the show, with no titles being on the line at the moment. Opinion: I’m not entirely sure I get the thinking here but this certainly seems to be a match that takes away a lot of the importance. Maybe this leads to a bigger match down the line, ..

Try Again: WWE Had Some Very Different Plans For RKBro

What could have been. WWE has a weird history when it comes to tag teams as it often seems that the company doesn’t like them lasting long term. Other than a handful of teams, WWE rarely has tag teams last long term. You do see them though, and it turns out that one of the most popular teams today was never meant to be around more than a little while in the first place. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE had no intention of keeping RKBro together in the long term. The original plan for the team called for them to be together for only a few weeks before Randy Orton turned on Riddle. Then WWE liked the two together and kept it going, with the team being together for a year now. The team has won the Raw Tag Team Titles twice and are set to compete in a title unification match against SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos at WrestleMania Backlash. Opinion: This isn’t exactly a surprise as WWE has a long history of breaking up teams, but in this case you can see the team’s chemist..

Update On Status Of WWE Brand Split

You might want to get used to it. WWE has a huge roster with all kinds of talented wrestlers working for the company. The roster is so big that it is divided into several groups who primarily appear on their own show. That is a concept called the Brand Split, but the rosters have started to come together a little bit more over the last few months. It turns out that might not be a sign of things to come. WWE has announced that the Raw and SmackDown Tag Team Titles will be unified at the upcoming WrestleMania Backlash event. This has led to some speculation that the Brand Split may be coming to an end, but that is not the case according to the Wrestling Observer newsletter. Vince McMahon is currently not thinking about bringing the rosters back together and the title unifications are events that will not impact the Brand Split as a whole. Opinion: I’m glad to hear that the Brand Slit is not likely ending, as WWE did not exactly do well without it last time. It is kind of nice to have t..

Two To One: Huge Title Match Officially Set For WrestleMania Backlash

That’s the big one. We are on the way to WrestleMania Backlash and that makes for a tricky build. With WrestleMania out of the way, it is time to start doing things a little bit differently and WWE needs to come up with a way to make that work. Sometimes they try something a little out of the ordinary and that seems to be what they are doing with a title match that is doing something different. This week on SmackDown, a Tag Team Title unification match between Raw Tag Team Champions RKBro and SmackDown Tag Team Champions the Usos was officially announced. Last week, Roman Reigns ordered the Usos to bring him the Raw Tag Team Titles, prompting the Usos to go to Monday Night Raw and start the feud with RKBro. This will be the first time that there has been one set of men’s Tag Team Titles in WWE since 2016. Opinion: This is something that is long overdue as there is no reason for two sets of Tag Team Titles in WWE. There is barely enough challengers for one set so putting them together..
