That could be an issue. There are a variety of different aspects that come together to present a wrestler in the right way. This includes the wrestler’s look, character and in some ways, nicknames. Finding the right moniker can be quite the trick but if it done right, it can bring about a lot of good. WWE is trying out a new nickname for one of its stars, but there might be a snag. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Another One: Update On Gable Steveson, Possible Major Delay To WWE Career In recent weeks, WWE has begin referring to Liv Morgan as “the Queen Of Extreme” as Morgan has been using more hardcore and weapons based offenses. Corey Graves also used this nickname for Lita on Monday Night Raw. During a recent edition of her “Eyes Up Here” podcast, former ECW and WWE star Francine, who was known as the “Queen Of Extreme”, took issue with WWE using the name. Francine claimed that she applied for the trademark for the name, though she is still waiting on it to come through. While Francine do..
They might want to fix that. While WWE and AEW get the most attention throughout the wrestling world, there are all kinds of wrestlers who work throughout the industry but rarely get the same amount of attention. Those wrestlers work incredibly hard to make a name for themselves without the same backing that comes with working for WWE. Now two of them have a problem with something WWE is doing. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: NXT Champion Collapses, Taken Away In Ambulance In an interview with the Hudson Valley Post, independent tag team The Now (Vik Dalishus and Hale Collins) revealed that they have sent two cease and desist letters to WWE over the company’s use of the term “the now” in regards to Austin Theory. Dalishus said that the name has been copyrighted since 2006 and people in WWE know their names. WWE has replied to one of the letters and is looking into the matter. Dalishus also said that their next step is a lawsuit for trademark infringement. The team has been around for ..
NXT LVL Up Date: February 24, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Blake Howard, Byron Saxton It’s another LVL Up and again I’m not sure what to expect. The best formula around here seems to be having some midcard NXT stars in the main event and the younger stars filling in the rest of the show. That has worked well in the past, but you never know what direction the show is going to take. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Axiom vs. Kale Dixon Dixon works on the arm to start but Axiom reverses into an armbar of his own. A springboard kick to the side of the head drops Dixon but he’s right back with some clubbing forearms. They trade kicks to the ribs until Dixon gets two off a delayed vertical suplex. Axiom strikes his way out of a chinlock and there’s a high crossbody. The Golden Ratio finishes for Axiom at 4:35. Result: Axiom b. Kale Dixon – Golden Ratio (4:35) Myles Borne and Tank Ledger are different on paper but they can win together tonight..
Call her a champion. Mercedes Mone, known as Sasha Banks in WWE, has won her first championship as a member of the NJPW roster. She defeated Kairi for the IWGP Women’s Championship at NJPW’s Battle in the Valley show in San Jose, California. From Bleacher Report: NJPW sold out tickets to Battle in the Valley after Kairi vs. Mercedes Moné was announced and it showed as the crowd erupted as it began. It was the loudest the audience in attendance got all night. Mone entered the arena wearing new gear as a tribute to the late Hana Kimura. You could see how much she reveres Japanese wrestling, and how much this moment means to her. The former WWE star hasn’t wrestled since May 13, 2022, but she hasn’t missed a beat. The Blueprint dominated early on with the crowd behind her, but Kairi came roaring back. It looked like the champion could retain when she locked in the Ikari, but Mone fought out and cinched in her trademark crossface. Then, Kairi hit her staggering spinning back fist to f..

Elimination Chamber 2023 Date: February 18, 2023 Location: Bell Center, Montreal, Quebec, Canada Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves It’s the last major stop on the Road To Wrestlemania and this is all going to be about Sami Zayn vs. Roman Reigns. In spite of the show’s title, the Elimination Chamber matches are far, far down the ladder in importance from the main event, which should have one of the most electric atmospheres WWE has seen in years. Let’s get to it. The opening video looks at the Chamber matches, before shifting to the Zayn vs. Reigns main event. Women’s Elimination Chamber The winner moves on to face Bianca Belair for the Raw Women’s Title at Wrestlemania and there is no word on the length of intervals. Natalya is in first and Liv Morgan is in second to get things going. A shoulder runs Morgan over to start and they trade rollups for a standoff. They go outside with Natalya being sent into the Chamber wall a few times and Morgan kissing her on the cheek. Back u..

NXT LVL Up Date: February 10, 2023 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Byron Saxton, Blake Howard So somehow, we’re coming off what was an actually entertaining episode last week. If they can keep up that energy this week, it should be another breeze of the show. What makes it more confusing is that it shouldn’t be hard to send in another middle of the road star to boost things up a bit. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. We meet new commentator Blake Howard. Tank Ledger vs. Kale Dixon They trade wristlocks to start until Ledger takes him down with an armbar. An armdrag sets up another armbar and a World’s Strongest Slam gives Ledger two. Dixon manages to send him into the corner though and a neckbreaker gets two. Ledger fights out of a chinlock and a cartwheel into a splash gets another near fall. The running powerslam finishes Dixon at 4:59. Result: Tank Ledger b. Kale Dixon – Running powerslam (4:59) Axiom isn’t sure how to deal with a masked man..
Rampage Date: February 3, 2023 Location: Nutter Center, Dayton, Ohio Commentators: Chris Jericho, Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur Rampage continues to be a bit all over the place as you know most of the card/lineup in advance but it still feels like a show that could go in a bunch of different directions. That could be the case again this week as there is some star power with the Elite around to defend the Trios Titles. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Trios Titles: Elite vs. Isiah Kassidy/Matt Hardy/Ethan Page The Elite is defending and for the sake of simplicity, Matt Hardy will be referred to as Hardy and Matt Jackson will be referred to as Matt. Nick Jackson and Kassidy trade some flips and takedowns to start before Matt comes in to take over. Kassidy gets over to Hardy for the tag, so Omega gets the overly dramatic tag. Hardy sends Omega outside and goes up but Page tags himself in to take over instead. Omega snaps off a hurricanrana and it’s the Bucks coming back in for..
Rampage Date: January 27, 2023 Location: Rupp Arena, Lexington, Kentucky Commentators: Jim Ross, Tony Schiavone, Excalibur, Chris Jericho We’re still in Kentucky and in this case that means it’s time for Hangman Page to face Wheeler Yuta on his way to next week’s showdown with Jon Moxley. Other than that, Jamie Hayter is in a Women’s Title eliminator match and we should be in for a treat there. The show continues to be up and down, but maybe they can make it work this week. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Hangman Page vs. Wheeler Yuta Yuta knocks him into the corner to start and hammers away. The Octopus has Page in early trouble before Yuta switches to the legs. They trade slaps to the face until Yuta bridges back into a leglock. Page fights up and knocks Yuta down for a change and a fall away slam sends Yuta to the apron. There’s the springboard clothesline to send him outside, setting up a slingshot dive. Page sends him back inside where Yuta hits a very fast dive of his own...
Hard To Kill 2023 Date: January 13, 2023 Location: Center Stage, Atlanta, Georgia Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt It’s back to pay per view and Impact is actually on a heck of a roll right now. They are getting almost everything right at the moment and I’m wanting to see the show a lot more than I would have expected. We have a double main event as Bully Ray is challenging Josh Alexander in a Full Metal Mayhem match, plus Mickie James’ Last Rodeo continues as she challenges Jordynne Grace for the Knockouts Title. Let’s get to it. Pre-Show: Kushida vs. Angels vs. Delirious vs. Mike Bailey vs. Mike Jackson vs. Yuya Uemura The previously unadvertised Delirious is replacing Bhupinder Gujjar). Delirious misses (maybe) a charge at the returning Kushida to start and winds up on the floor. Uemura and Kushida are left in the ring to trade arm holds until Kushida hiptosses him into the basement dropkick. Delirious comes back in to neckbreaker Kushida but it’s Jackson (73 years ol..

He’s available. The rise of AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works, as there is now another major platform for wrestlers to apply their trade. AEW allows more wrestlers a chance to go out in the ring on national television and that has been missing for a very long time now. More wrestlers are going to use that chance and now there is a major free agent out there who can sign wherever he likes. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Back Again: WWE Star Hypes Upcoming Return To The Ring After 8 Month Absence According to PWInsider.com, former NWA World Champion Nick Aldis is officially a free agent, with his NWA contract expiring at the start of the new year. He might not be done? This has been one of the busiest wrestling years in history with several game changing stories taking place. The biggest of them all has been Vince McMahon’s retirement from WWE. For the first time in nearly forty years, a new regime is in charge of WWE and that is leading to even more changes. Rampage Date: December 9, 2022 Location: H-E-B Center, Cedar Park, Texas Commentators: Jim Ross, Excalibur, Tony Schiavone We are a day away from Ring Of Honor Final Battle and odds are we are going to be seeing some of the very last build to the show. Other than that we have what should be a heck of a match between Konosuke Takeshita vs. Jon Moxley and Orange Cassidy defending the All-Atlantic Title against a mystery challenger. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jon Moxley vs. Konosuke Takeshita Moxley takes him down by the arm to start before it’s time to stand and trade chops. With that not working, Moxley bites Takeshita’s head in the corner and then chops some more. With Don Callis watching, Takeshita sends him outside and over the barricade as we take a break. Back with Moxley (bleeding) getting two off a piledriver but getting caught with a heck of a clothesline. Takeshita sends him to the apron, setting up a slingshot DDT for two back inside. What looked like a Blue Thunde..
The Boss is heading overseas. According to a report from PWInsider, Sasha Banks is expected to appear at New Japan Pro Wrestling’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 event next month. It is unknown in what capacity she will be used, if at all, during the show. Banks has not wrestled since she and Naomi walked out on WWE before the May 16 episode of Raw. Both women were upset about the creative direction of their characters, and were subsequently stripped of the Women’s Tag Team Championships. From the report: Back in October, Varnado teased the idea of wrestling former WWE star KAIRI in STARDOM, which shares the same corporate owner as NJPW and recently did a crossover event with NJPW. Banks has been training at a number of places in recent months in the United States and Mexico. Banks recently made a number of trademark filings related to her given name as well as the terms Mercedes Mone’, Mone’ Talks, Bank Mone’, and Statement Maker under company name Soulnado, obviously preparing for her next m..
We might have a glimpse. There are all kinds of things that need to come together to make a wrestling story work in the right way and one of the most important is finding the right people. Putting someone in the wrong spot can mess up quite a bit, especially if the first impression is wrong. Earlier this week, we might have gotten a look at the newest member of a big storyline. This week’s edition of SmackDown featured another segment where the Bray Wyatt mask hijacked the show. After a speech, an image of a cowboy appeared on screen and said “Howdy”, though as did not see his face. This comes after WWE trademarked the name “Uncle Howdy”, though it is not clear if this will be a different character or another of Wyatt’s alter egos. Opinion: We are firmly in the realm of weird with anything Wyatt does or is associated with and this seems to be the same. One would likely be able to assume that this is the Uncle Howdy that WWE trademarked, though how he is connected to Wyatt remains to ..
