Crown Jewel Date: November 2, 2018 Location: King Saud University, Stadium, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Commentators: Michael Cole, Corey Graves, Renee Young We’re back on the other side of the world this time and things aren’t exactly going well. The focal point of the show is D-Generation X vs. the Brothers of Destruction with Shawn Michaels coming out of retirement in a detail that has been forgotten in the whole ordeal. Other than that we’re going to have a new Universal Champion today as Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar face off for the title vacated by Roman Reigns. Let’s get to it. New Title Match With Personal Touch Added To AEW Full Gear
The card continues to grow. We are less than three weeks away from AEW Full Gear, which will be one of the few times that AEW goes on pay per view during the year. As a result, the company tends to stack up its pay per view cards, which seems to be the case again. Now the card has gotten even bigger, as a new title match has been added to the show with a bit of a personal touch. This week on AEW Dynamite, an Interim Women’s Title match was announced for Full Gear, with Toni Storm defending against Jamie Hayter. A vignette aired showing the personal history between the two, revealing that they even lived together in England during the Coronavirus pandemic. This will be the second singles match between the two, with Storm having previously defeated Hayter in the first round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. However, this show is the real thing with Russo getting to direct where things go from here. LOOK: WWE Officially Reveals WrestleMania 38 Set
That’s the first step. WrestleMania 38 takes place this weekend and that means the finishing touches should have already been made for the card. Whether WWE is ready or not, the show is in less than two days and the fans are already in Texas for the event. WWE needs to have everything ready, and now they have covered one of the biggest things they have left. WWE has released a video, officially revealing the WrestleMania 38 set. The video features WWE broadcasters Pat McAfee and Michael Cole, plus sports comedy team Dude Perfect. The set has a large WRESTLEMANIA logo in the middle in front of a large blue star. WATCH: WWE Releases Touching Tribute To Shad Gaspard
He deserves the attention. We are well on our way to WrestleMania weekend and that means it is time to wrap up all of the preparations. In addition to WrestleMania itself, WWE presents the annual Hall of Fame induction ceremony. This includes a variety of wrestlers getting their recognition, including one special inductee each year. Now one of them is receiving some extra attention. WWE has released a tribute video to Shad Gaspard, who will posthumously receive the Warrior Award at this Friday’s Hall of Fame induction. Gaspard passed away via drowning after telling lifeguards to save his son instead. During his WWE career, Gaspard primarily wrestled in a tag team with JTG as part of Cryme Tyme, though he did compete as a singles wrestler as well. It’s a touching tribute. Another WWE Star May Not Be Long For The Company
Enjoy him while you can. Wrestlers have been leaving WWE in droves in recent years, with several of them being due to mass releases the company has undergone. The majority of these releases came from NXT, which has been almost completely overhauled since last fall. There is a wing that has remained mostly untouched, though one of its names may be on the way out as well. According to Fightful Select, WWE’s contract negotiations with Flash Morgan Webster have stalled and the NXT UK star’s contract has expired. However, he is still with the company on a short term extension. There is no word on if the two sides are expected to come to an agreement or not. Webster has not wrestled since October due to a shoulder injury and he is not expected back in the ring until June. Opinion: Maybe it’s due to the different location, but you don’t hear much about NXT UK wrestlers leaving WWE. WRESTLING RUMORS: WWE May Be Bringing Back Former WCW Shows
You might remember them. Prior to the rise of AEW, WWE had been by far and away the most dominant wrestling promotion in the world. No one came close to touching them and that had been the case since WCW went out of business. By outlasting their competition, WWE was able to pick up some of the trademarks that had been forgotten, which was the case with two former events. According to Wrestlingnews.co, WWE has filed trademark applications for Uncensored and SuperBrawl. Both of these were events used by WCW in the 1990s and neither has been used since WCW folded. It is not clear what WWE would be using the names for, though they have brought back former WCW concepts such as WarGames and Halloween Havoc among others, in NXT. SuperBrawl and Uncensored were regular WCW pay per view events, running in the 1990s and into the 2000s. WCW mainly ran the shows in February and March respectively, though the first SuperBrawl was held in May. SuperBrawl did not usually have a special theme, though..

He’s worth the tribute. There are certain ways to honor a wrestler that you will see come up over and over. The easiest way tends to be to name something after them, which can come in a variety of forms. Some of these are a bit more effective than others as you can tell when a promotion has put in the effort. That is the case at the moment, as one legend is getting a double shot. AEW has announced a pair of tournaments honoring Owen Hart, with one men’s and one women’s edition. The tournaments will begin in May with the finals taking place at Double Or Nothing. This week, AEW has released a video tribute to Hart, showing various home movies and photos of him, along with wrestlers talking about what Hart meant to their careers. Major Update On Alberto El Patron’s Sexual Assault Charges
That takes care of things. Wrestling fans watch their favorite, and sometimes not so favorite, stars on TV on a regular basis. It can be easy to forget that we are watching real people get in the ring every so often. These people have real life situations going on outside of the ring and no one of the most serious issues has been wrapped up in a bit of a surprise. According to PWInsider.com, former WWE Champion Alberto El Patron’s sexual assault charges were dismissed on Friday and the case is officially closed. A witness was said to be missing, meaning that El Patron is cleared of all liability in the situation. The trial was scheduled to have begun on Monday. El Patron has been regularly wrestling for a variety of promotions in Mexico over the last few months. This is a bit of a touchy situation so we’ll try something else. What Made Vince McMahon Apologize To A WWE Star
It takes a lot to do that. Vince McMahon is a lot of things and some of those are not as good as others. One of the main criticisms of McMahon is that he can be a bit out of touch at times, but he is still going to get what is going on at least some of the time. Earlier this year, there was a decision made that left a lot of people confused, but McMahon did try to make up for it. In a new interview with TalkSport, Zelina Vega revealed that McMahon personally called her to apologize for leaving her off of the September 10 SmackDown. Vega’s father passed away nearly twenty years before the show on September 11, 2001 and Vega had been featured in materials promoting the show. However, she did not appear on the show as her appearance was cut due to time issues. McMahon told her that it was not a personal matter but rather making time for other things. Maybe that can help things. There are all kinds of stories in the history of wrestling and some of them are a lot better than others. You often hear stories of wrestlers doing good things, but unfortunately you hear bad stories all the more often. Some of these have been told on television, which was the case last week. Now though, one of the people involved has had to issue an apology. The most recent episode of Dark Side of the Ring focused on the infamous Plane Ride From Hell. Back in 2002, a group of WWE stars flew on a transatlantic flight after a European tour. What followed was quite the mess, with all kinds of alcohol being consumed and wrestlers doing some rather bad things. WWE Scrapped Plans For A Pair Of New Championships
What could have been. There are all kinds of titles in the wrestling world and that can create a bit of a problem at times. With so many titles out there, it can be easy to have the title scene over saturated with champions. If a good percentage of wrestlers have a title, then the championships don’t mean as much. That has been a common criticism of WWE for a long time now and it was almost worse. In a post on his Instagram account, former WWE wrestler Jack Gallagher revealed that WWE had Cruiserweight Tag Team Titles created and ready from the time 205 Live debuted in 2016. The titles were purple and gold and were found on the prop truck which was brought to weekly television. They were never officially introduced either backstage or on television. Rules suggested for the titles included lucha libre rules for tag matches, meaning both feet touching the floor allowed the partner to come in, or trios titles. AJ Styles Had A Really Cool Exchange With Undertaker
That’s a special moment. There are a lot of wrestling legends but there are only a handful of wrestlers who are at the top of that list. Last year’s WrestleMania 36 saw the final match (for now) match of the Undertaker, who would certainly qualify as a top legend. Undertaker wrestled his last match against AJ Styles in the Boneyard match, which was quite the moment. It turns out that they shared another special moment. During an appearance on Ryan Satin’s Out Of Character podcast, Styles mentioned that he wanted to give the Undertaker a special gift after the Boneyard match. Styles got in touch with Undertaker’s wife Michelle McCool, who said that Undertaker would appreciate the gloves that Styles wore during the match. Styles sent the autographed gloves to Undertaker, who sent Styles his gloves as well, along with a thank you letter for the match.
