Someone can be in the middle of a match and be taken down in an instant, which unfortunately is what happened this week. It became a question of what would happen next and now we have a very important, and thankfully positive, update. This week on AEW Dynamite, Hangman Page was injured in a match against Jon Moxley. Page was hit with a clothesline and landed on his head, resulting in the match being instantly stopped, with Page being taken out on a stretcher. AEW has posted an update on Twitter, saying that Page was taken to a hospital where he was diagnosed with a concussion and discharged. During an appearance on the AEW Unrestricted podcast, Julia Hart revealed that she and fellow AEW star Lee Johnson are engaged. The two met and began dating at the Nightmare Factory before having to be apart due to Hart having to move back to Minnesota. They were both sent to AEW full time and have been together ever since. Injury Update After Scary Crash On AEW Rampage

That could have been worse. Injuries are one of the worst things that you can see in wrestling and unfortunately you never know when someone is going to get hurt. Something can just happen out of nowhere and result in someone being put on the shelf. At the same time though, sometimes something looks a lot worse than it is, which thankfully is what happened here. This week on AEW Rampage, the Great Muta made a surprise appearance and saved Sting from the House Of Black. Muta sprayed mist into Buddy Matthews’ eyes, sending him into Julia Hart, who was knocked off the apron and through a table. Hart mostly missed the table, which did not fall down and only had a small piece knocked out. Both Hart and her stablemate Brody King announced on Twitter that Hart (and her hat) are fine. Update On Injured WWE Star, Expected Return Time

You never want to hear that. An injury is one of the worst possible things that can happen to any wrestler as you never know how long someone is going to be out of action. Someone can be injured in any way and miss time, which can lead to some difficult situations. Thankfully though, this time things might not be as bad as they seem given the circumstances. Earlier this month, WWE announced that SmackDown’s Aliyah had suffered an unspecified injury and would be out of action. However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the injury is not said to be serious and Aliyah should be back on television as early as next week. Aliyah has been teaming with Raquel Rodriguez, with the team winning the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles in August, only to lose them two weeks later. That is some great news. There have been some famous names throughout wrestling history and some of them are among the most likable athletes that you will ever see. That makes it all the sadder when something bad happens to them, but sometimes that kind of story can have a happy ending. Thankfully that seems to be the case again with one of the most memorable stars of the last few decades. WWE Hall Of Famer Hacksaw Jim Duggan has shared a video showing him ringing a bell at a hospital, meaning that he has completed cancer treatment and is now cancer free. Duggan had announced in May that his cancer had returned after having previously beaten it in the 1990s. There is no word on when Duggan will be able to return to his public appearances. He’s Back: NXT Star Makes Surprise Return From Injury

It’s good to have him back. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today but there are also a lot of ways to slow them down. Sometimes a wrestler is going to have something happen to them that puts them on the shelf for one reason or another and they are rarely good things. That was the case with an NXT star but now a little time has passed and he is back. NXT’s Nathan Frazer made his return to television this week, following about a month away. Frazer sent out a tweet on June 28 announcing that he was dealing with a bit of an injury but would be back “before you know it”. He made his return this week, appearing with Chase U and saving Andre Chase from a post match attack at the hands of Giovanni Vinci. Frazer has not wrestled on television since June 7. That can happen to anyone and the question becomes how long someone is going to be out of action. That time can range from a little while to a very long time, but thankfully this instance seems to be a bit more on the lighter side. Last week on SmackDown, Sami Zayn appeared with his arm in a sling while talking to Theory. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Zayn’s injury is legitimate, though it is not clear what exactly is wrong. Beast Switch: Brock Lesnar Does Appear On WWE SmackDown After All, What Happened

Friday was one of the busiest days in WWE history, as not only did Triple H return to his role as Head of Talent Relations, but Vince McMahon also retired from the company entirely. That is the kind of day you never expect to see happen and it remains to be seen how far some of these changes go. Now though we do know one change that doesn’t seem to have happened. Following McMahon’s announcement, another story broke saying that Brock Lesnar had walked out on SmackDown and would not be appearing. However, Lesnar did appear at the end of the show and attacked Theory. According to Fightful Select, a wrestler said that the situation was “overblown” but it was not clear if Lesnar would be back for the show or not. The ending was intentionally written so that it could take place with or without Lesnar being involved. Welcome to the team. With WWE being as competitive as it is, there is only so much that can be done to make yourself stand out. At some point, a wrestler has to do something that gives you a reason for WWE to believe in them enough to give them a new role. That seems to be the case again, as an NXT star has been moved up to the main roster as someone completely new. This week on SmackDown, NXT’s Sofia Cromwell made her main roster debut as Maxxine Dupri, the sister of Max Dupri. Maxxine promised that Maximum Male Models would debut their swimwear collection next week, though that had originally been announced for this week. Maxxine had appeared as Cromwell in NXT as part of the Robert Stone Brand for the last few months, though she has yet to wrestle a match on television. That might slow things down. Later this month, Ric Flair will wrestle his final match at an event appropriately called Ric Flair’s Last Match. The announcement of the match earlier this year brought up a variety of questions, including if Flair’s health would allow him to wrestle such a match. Now we know that things are starting to go badly for Flair, who is already a bit banged up. During an appearance on Busted Open Radio, Flair revealed that he has suffered plantar fasciitis in his left foot which is causing him to have difficulty training. However, the match is still scheduled to take place as scheduled, with Flair saying that he would deaden the bottom of his foot if he had to in order to make the match happen. Yes again, but not too bad. AEW has a very talented roster but the company has been going through a nasty run of injuries in recent months. The company has had one wrestler injured after another and some of the wrestlers have been out of action over and over. That is the kind of thing that can take time to get over but thankfully the most recent injury might not be so bad. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, AEW’s Rey Fenix was injured during the Lucha Bros vs. Private Party match on Rampage. Fenix was injured taking an atomic drop, hurting his ankle in the process.
