Shortly thereafter, Lyons announced that she had suffered a torn ACL and had undergone surgery to repair the injury. That’s new for her. Back in 2018, Ronda Rousey made her WWE debut and instantly became one of the biggest stars in the company. A year after she made her in-ring debut, she was headlining WrestleMania in the first ever all women’s main event. Rousey is back in WWE after a hiatus and now it turns out that the company has something different planned for her at WrestleMania this year. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: In The Making: WWE Planned This WrestleMania 39 Match Since Last July In recent weeks, Rousey and her friend Shayna Baszler have been working together more often and talking about dominating the company. While the matches might not have been announced on television as of yet, there might be something different going on behind the scenes. The following are spoilers for the December 23, 2022 edition of Smackdown, which was taped in Chicago last evening: Raquel Rodriguez won a gauntlet match to become the number one contender for the SmackDown Women’s title. Xia Li beat Emma and Tegan Nox. Raquel defeated Li, Liv Morgan, and Sonya Deville to win the match. Shayna Baszler came out as a surprise entrant, but Rodriguez defeated her as well. Bray Wyatt came out and said that LA Knight owes him an apology. He ends up attacking the camera man. Rey Mysterio defeated Angel of Los Lotharios. After an out of nowhere ending to her 413 day NXT Women’s Title reign, Rose was released from the company the following day. The release seems to be tied to Rose posting risque and adult photos to a subscription site. Now we know a bit more about what went down. They’re up next. AEW has built up a rather diverse and talented roster in its time. The company features a mixture of young, up and coming stars, current names and veterans, who have come together to create a mixture of matches and wrestlers. New names still need to be added though and that was the case again this week as three more names made their AEW debuts. The main event of this week’s AEW Rampage saw FTR and Shawn Spears defeat the Embassy in a six man tag match. Following the match, the Kingdom, comprised of Mike Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis, interrupted in their AEW debuts. The Kingdom and the Embassy then joined forces to attack FTR until Samoa Joe and Wardlow made the save. This comes less than a week after the Kingdom reportedly finished up with Impact Wrestling. Opinion: You can’t say that Tony Khan isn’t committed to the Ring Of Honor stuff as the brand seems to have landed even more stars.
