He has gone from what looked to be a can’t miss prospect to one of the most decorated stars in the history of WWE. That’s rather impressive. There are all kinds of wrestling matches to be had, some of which add something extra to ramp up the violence. These matches make things even more intense than usual and it feels special when you see one of them take place. Another was held over the weekend, and now we know something about it that made things all the more impressive. This weekend at WWE Crown Jewel, Drew McIntyre defeated Karrion Kross in a steel cage match. However, according to PWInsider.com, McIntyre wrestled the match while “extremely sick”. McIntyre missed some of the run throughs for his match but was adamant about wrestling no matter what. There is nothing to suggest that McIntyre will miss any ring time due to his illness. The group has dominated almost anyone who has come in front of them and there are only a few names left who can come up against them. It means something for a star to face off of them and now another former champion seems ready to come after the all star team. Last week on SmackDown, Ricochet faced Solo Sikoa. Prior to the show, Ricochet gave an interview backstage where he talked about being sick of the Bloodline. Ricochet spoke about how he wanted to take out all of the teams, beginning with Sikoa that night. Wrestlers with a large shiny title in their hands are going to be treated as a bigger deal than others and it can mean a lot when a title changes hands. That is what happened on one night, as multiple championships changed hands on a single show. Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event on Friday night where two championships changed hands. First up, Frankie Kazarian defeated Mike Bailey to win the X-Division Title for the sixth time. Later, the Death Dollz (Taya Valkyrie/Jessicka) defeated VXT (Chelsea Green/Deonna Purrazzo) to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles for the first time. Back in the fold. There have been a lot of returns to WWE in recent months and those do not seem to be coming to an end. Following Triple H’s return to power in recent months, several former WWE and NXT stars have returned to the company in one form or another. That can make for some very nice moments and now we might be seeing it happen again, at least in the short form. According to PWInsider.com, former NXT Tag Team Champion Biff Busick, formerly known as Oney Lorcan, was back at the WWE Performance Center as a guest coach. The stint is only in a guest role and there is no word on if Busick will be back with the company full time. Busick was released from WWE in November 2021 along with several other wrestlers as part of WWE’s string of releases. That’s a different way to go. Wrestlers need to have the right gimmick to make things work out for them as well as possible. Having the wrong name or character can wreck a wrestler’s potential and that is one of the worst things that can take place. Unfortunately it happens more often than it should, but WWE is making an adjustment to one of its newer stars. Last week on SmackDown, Max Dupri walked away from the Maximum Male Models after being sick of them not being serious enough. Dupri also used his former “YEAH” catchphrase from his time as LA Knight in NXT. According to PWInsider.com, Dupri is internally listed as Knight and will be using that gimmick going forward. The rest of the Maximum Male Models will be continuing without Dupri. Opinion: Good, as the Dupri stuff never really worked out for Knight. That’s never good to hear. There are a lot of people who work for a wrestling promotion besides just the people you see in the ring. In addition to the wrestlers, there are also the people who help train the wrestlers but rarely get that much attention. Some of those names are famous in their own right though and one such name was missing in action this week. AEW star and trainer Dustin Rhodes announced that he would not be at this week’s Dynamite tapings in Savannah, Georgia as he was home sick. Rhodes did not specify what was wrong with him or suggest that he would be missing any additional time. In addition to wrestling, Rhodes works with the women’s division as a coach and trainer. It might be the delivery, it might be the context and it might be what is being said, but sometimes it can be everything coming together. That was the case with a promo last week, but it seems that one wrestling legend was certainly not impressed. Last week on AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman cut a promo bashing AEW President Tony Khan and the company as a whole. The promo followed Friedman no showing a scheduled meet and greet over Double Or Nothing weekend.
