WATCH: Nikki Cross Teases Return Of Former Stable

Welcome back? Stables have been a huge part of WWE for decades and that will likely continue to be the case for a long time to come. The idea makes perfect sense as a stable allows several wrestlers to get television time at once while often uniting under a common theme. Now a current WWE star is teasing the return of a stable which did not get the best chance in the company. WWE star Nikki Cross has released a video of herself talking to a series of drawings on a chalkboard. Cross blows bubbles at the pictures and says she’ll make sure the drawings will get what they want for Christmas before wiping them away. The drawing appears to be Cross from her time as part of the Sanity stable. This comes as rumors of Eric Young returning to WWE have been circulating, suggesting that Sanity could reform. However, there is nothing to confirm that the team will be back. She’s a bit out there. Check out Cross’ video and what could be coming back: [This post contains video, click to play] [This..

REVIEW: Halloween Havoc 1998: Time’s Up

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over ten years now and have reviewed over 5,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net, starting today. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Halloween Havoc 1998 Date: October 25, 1998 Location: MGM Grand Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 10,663 Commentators: Tony Schiavone, Mike Tenay, Bobby Heenan We’re FINALLY here after six weeks of buildup. It’s a double main event with Warrior and Hogan in the battle for Hollywood’s sanity and ego as well as Diamond Dallas Page challenging Goldberg for the World Title. However the show is remembered far more for something that had nothing to do with the wrestling. Let’s get to it. The open..

REVIEW: Halloween Havoc 1999: The Zaniness Is Upon Us

Halloween Havoc 1999 Date: October 24, 1999 Location: MGM Garden Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada Attendance: 8,464 Commentators: Bobby Heenan, Tony Schiavone The Russo Era is officially upon us as we got a big time preview this past Monday. However, this show is the real thing with Russo getting to direct where things go from here. Expect to see a lot more pointless talking, a lot more insanity and a lot more shouting about what I did to deserve this. Let’s get to it. The opening video focuses on Sid vs. Goldberg and mentions the whole “Goldberg can’t touch him” bit, which has basically been ignored. Hogan vs. Sting gets even less hype. A LOUD Weasel chant is ignored by Heenan as Tony announces that due to Rey Mysterio being injured, the Filthy Animals have been stripped of the Tag Team Titles. The solution? A triple threat hardcore title match for the belts with Kidman substituting for Mysterio. Well why bother having a match when you can just make it hardcore? They run down the rest of ..

AEW Rampage Results – July 15, 2022

Rampage Date: July 15, 2022 Location: Enmarket Arena, Savannah, Georgia Commentators: Jim Ross, Taz, Chris Jericho We’re still in Fyter Fest with the second of four shows in two weeks. I’m not sure what that is going to mean, but we do have a big time Ring Of Honor World Title match as Jonathan Gresham defends against Lee Moriarty. Odds are we’re going to be seeing some kind of a surprise challenger to come out after the match and set up Death Before Dishonor so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dark Order vs. House Of Black Black rolls Reynolds to the mat to start but Reynolds is back up with a wristlock. That doesn’t last long as Black knees him in the ribs to set up a chinlock before it’s off to Brody King. The big chop misses though, meaning John Silver wants to try King out of a slight case of insanity. King runs him over with a shoulder but misses a backsplash. Everything breaks down and the Order gets to clean house, including a double dropkick to send King outside. Reynolds..

Update On Charlotte’s Upcoming Return To WWE TV

Not just yet. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world and some of them wind up together as a wrestling couple. It makes sense that two wrestlers would get together as it means both will understand the insanity that comes with the wrestling business. That is the case at the moment with a WWE and AEW star, though in this case, what one of them is doing is not the same as the other. Earlier this week on AEW Dynamite, Andrade El Idolo made his return after a month and a half long absence, appearing in the Joker’s Wild battle royal. This came after El Idolo took time off to get married to WWE’s Charlotte, which sparked speculation that Charlotte could be ready to return as well. However, according to PWInsider.com, Charlotte is not currently scheduled for this week’s SmackDown. It is not known when Charlotte will return to the ring. Opinion: El Idolo’s return is the kind of thing that is going to get people talking and that is the case here, as it is easy to assume that Charlotte would ..

Big Damo, AKA Killian Dain Debuts in AEW

The Giant has arrived. On tonight’s episode of AEW rampage, Big Damo, known as Killian Dain in WWE, made his debut for the company. He would go on to lose in a squash against Shawn Spears. Damo was part of several releases by WWE in June 2021, after being with the company since 2016. He was initially part of the group known as Sanity in NXT from 2016 to 2018, and after a brief call-up to the SmackDown brand in WWE’s 2018 Superstar Shake-up, Damo returned to the NXT brand in 2019 Damo debuted for NJPW earlier this year and has remained active on both the international and American independent scenes since leaving NXT. He also appeared for the Control Your Narrative promotion earlier this month, winning both of his bouts for that company. He is married to WWE wrestler Nikki Cross (Nikki A.S.H.), and the two have been wed since January 2019. Editor’s Opinion: I am unapologetically not a fan of All Elite Wrestling, so I simply look at this as the company not worried about finding its ..

PHOTO: Former WWE Star Dramatically Changes Look

It’s an important factor. There are certain things that go into being a star in wrestling and one of the most important is having the right look. If a wrestler doesn’t catch the fans’ attention, it isn’t likely they are going to get much of a chance. At some point you have to do something to make fans care and the right look can go a long way. Now a former WWE star has changed his look in a big way. Former WWE star Killian Dain has revealed a completely different look, now with a shaved head and heavily trimmed beard. Dain was released from WWE on June 25 and has since begun wrestling on the independent circuit, including in the United Kingdom. He wrestled for WWE and NXT from 2016 until 2021, including a stint on SmackDown as part of the Sanity stable. Nevermind me, just having the time of me life in Dublin and Belfast with @OTT_wrestling cannot wait to return! Fun seminar today with @NXGWrestling Great effort on a cold Monday night in Carryduff! WWE “Legend” Getting His Own Video Game

Only in wrestling. There are certain people in wrestling who would probably not be anywhere near as big of a star elsewhere. Wrestling lends itself to tall tales and pure insanity at times, and some wrestlers have completely embraced this concept. When you see that take place, it can be incredibly interesting and one of the most fascinating of them all is getting some special treatment. Former WWE star Mike Jones, better known as Virgil, has announced that Meat Sauce Madness, a mobile game inspired by him, will be released on July 4. The game will feature Jones trying to make it to the main event, while eating beef and breadsticks. A portion of the proceeds of the game will be donated to malnourished families. Here is the official announcement of the game, courtesy of 411mania.com: On July 4, 2021, The Magen Group will be releasing Meatsauce Madness worldwide for play on all Apple and Android mobile devices. We hope you’re hungry! Inspired by his passion/obsession for Meatsauce and ..

WATCH: Monday Night Raw Star Debuts New Character

It’s something new. Characters are one of the most important ideas in all of wrestling. You can only get so far with someone being plain and boring so mixing it up with a different gimmick or personality can make all the difference in the world. Some of these can be rather over the top and that is not a bad idea. It seems to be the case again now, as someone is doing something rather new. During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Nikki Cross spoke about trying to overcome the odds and embracing her inner spirit. She wore a blue mask and superhero inspired costume, complete with cape, for her Money in the Bank qualifying tag match, where she and Alexa Bliss defeated Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler. There is nothing to suggest that Cross will be changing her name to go with the new character. Cross has wrestled for WWE since 2016, splitting her time between NXT and the main roster. During her time in NXT, she was a member of Sanity, where she was often unhinged in her matches and interviews. She..

Ex-WWE Star Reveals How WWE Used Sanity’s Ideas For Retribution

What could have been. There have been a lot of stales in WWE history and some of them do not receive a lot of attention. For every Evolution, there are several more which do not make the biggest impact. That can leave a lot of groups mostly lost to history, but every now and then you see a bit of a reference to one of them. It turns out that was the case last year, but it was not exactly what you would have expected. In an interview with Fightful Select, former WWE star Alexander Wolfe revealed that several of the original ideas for the Retribution stable was pitched by Sanity when they were called up to SmackDown in 2018. Several of the same ideas are now being used by Eric Young, the former leader of Sanity, in his Violent By Design stable in Impact Wrestling. Sanity was part of WWE from April 2018 until April 2019. Wolfe was part of the Sanity stable along with Young, Killian Dain, Nikki Cross and Sawyer Fulton, the latter two of whom did not appear with them on SmackDown. The tea..

Vince McMahon’s Radical Idea For WrestleMania 36

You can picture him doing this. We are less than a day away from WrestleMania 36 and that means we are coming up on one of the most unique shows in wrestling history. Nothing has ever been done like this before and it is going to be one of the most important events on the WWE calendar. While the show in the empty Performance Center is going to look strange, it could have been a lot stranger. While we are finally at the final home stretch for WrestleMania 36, it has been a long road to get here. It had not been clear what is going to happen with all kinds of ideas being thrown out there. Some of these ranged from what felt like good ideas to complete insanity, but now we know that Vince McMahon had an even more out there idea which would have certainly been memorable. Sports Illustrated’s Justin Barrasso reports that despite the issues with the Coronavirus, McMahon still wanted to hold WrestleMania in the empty Raymond James Stadium. The show was eventually moved to the Performance Ce..

Rumor: Alexander Wolfe Not Leaving WWE; Heading To NXT?

This is only a rumor, so take it for what it’s worth. It had been previously reported that Alexander Wolfe was leaving WWE, and wrote a farewell message to everyone on his social media accounts. However, according to the latest issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, this may not be the case. It is being reported that Wolfe isn’t leaving the company, but he may be going back to NXT as a singles competitor, or he could be used as one of the top stars on the European brand. Wolfe has always been known as one of the members of the group SAnitY, along with Eric Young, Killian Dain and Nikki Cross. Check out what they are capable of: [This post contains video, click to play] Young was traded to Raw as a part of the 2019 Superstar Shakeup. However, it is unknown what the future of Dain and Cross is. Editor’s Opinion: This is great news. He is a very talented competitor who could be a big deal in one of the NXT brands. What do you think the future holds for Alexander Wolfe? Leave ..

Now That Has Potential. Matt Hardy Pushing For A Very Different Kind Of Story (With Multiple Characters).

A flashback worth the time. A few years ago, Matt Hardy’s Broken Matt character took Impact Wrestling by storm and made him the hottest act in wrestling for a little while. The character eventually made its way to WWE and became a hit as well, due to Hardy’s ability to sell the heck out of the character. Now though, we might be in for three times the insanity going forward. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Hardy is pitching a storyline to WWE that would see him appear as four different characters at the same time ala the Three Faces of Foley. The characters would include Woken Matt, Big Money Matt (which was hinted at earlier this week), Matt Hardy V1 and regular Matt Hardy, which he has used in recent weeks. There is no word on if the story will begin or if it will be taking place whatsoever. In case you don’t remember. Check out Big Money Matt: [This post contains video, click to play] Then there’s this flashback. Check out v1: [This post contains video, click to..

Big Names Involved In Pre And Post SmackDown Live Dark Matches

You have to start well and end better. There’s a lot going on at a WWE TV taping with a bunch of stuff that you don’t see on the broadcasts. With so many people running around and all those things to take care of, sometimes you forget about all the matches you get to see. Most of the time though you get a pair of bonus matches that the TV audience doesn’t get, which was the case on Tuesday. According to Wrestlinginc.com, there was a dark match both before and after last night’s SmackDown Live tapings. Before the show went on the air, Ricochet and Heavy Machinery teamed up to defeat Sanity. After the show was over, Becky Lynch defeated Charlotte by submission. Lynch and Charlotte were both on SmackDown Live where they brawled as guests on the Kevin Owens Show. And now, the brawl. Check out Lynch and Charlotte going at it on SmackDown Live: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Starting the night off with people like Heavy Machinery and Ricochet is a good idea as you ha..

Survivor Series 2018 Live Coverage And Results

Survivor Series 2018 Date: November 18, 2018 Location: Staples Center, Los Angeles, California Commentators: Michael Cole, Renee Young, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton, Tom Phillips We’re finally here after what felt like the longest, most eventful two week build I’ve ever seen. The theme of the night is Raw vs. Smackdown and that likely means a lot of bantering between the commentators about the scoreboard and brand supremacy, which is all that matters around here. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Raw Tag Teams vs. Smackdown Tag Team Raw: Bobby Roode/Chad Gable (captains), Revival, B-Team, Lucha House Party, Ascension Smackdown: Usos (captains), New Day Colons, Good Brothers, Sanity New Day handles the Smackdown introductions. Gable and Roode on the other hand promise a glorious victory. If one member of a team is eliminated, their partner is gone as well. Epico and Kalisto start things off with Kalisto tweaking his leg while flipping out of a belly to back suplex. Woods: “SWEEP THE LEG!..

Survivor Series 2018 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

We’re finally here and odds are the lineups for the matches have changed another 194 times since Tuesday. It’s another year focused on Brand Supremacy and things are changing every day for the sake of…I have no idea really. This time there are seven brand vs. brand matches and a lonesome Cruiserweight Title match (the only title match on the whole show), the latter of which you would expect to be on the Kickoff Show so the whole show could be built around one concept. You know, because that’s how you do a show like this. Let’s get to it. Kickoff Show: Monday Raw Tag Teams vs. SmackDown Live Tag Teams Raw: Bobby Roode/Chad Gable (captains), Revival, Lucha House Party, B-Team, Ascension SmackDown: Usos (captains), New Day, Sanity, Good Brothers, Colons For some reason this is on the Kickoff Show, with the likely reason of allowing the entrances to not eat up such a ridiculous amount of time. At the moment this is the only Kickoff Show match and I can’t imagine that winding up being th..

Well Hello There. Video: NXT Star Makes Main Roster Debut.

A little insanity never hurt anyone. The WWE roster changes constantly. There are almost always new people showing up or doing something new to change things in one way or another. This can include names coming up from NXT, which is often one of the most interesting parts of the year. That was the case again this week, as an NXT name made their main roster debut. How did she look? [This post contains video, click to play] This week on SmackDown Live, Nikki Cross made her debut on the main roster in a losing effort against SmackDown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch. The match was a result of an open challenge from Lynch, with Sanity coming out before Cross followed. Cross was a member of the group in NXT but didn’t follow them up to the main roster. There is no word on if this is a one time appearance of a full time move for Cross. Opinion: This is certainly a nice surprise and I could go for Cross being around full time. She’s the kind of person who actually comes off as insane and th..

Dean Ambrose to Betray Seth Rollins at WWE ‘SummerSlam’?

Dean Ambrose has finally returned to WWE. The Lunatic Fringe came out on the August 13 edition of Monday Night Raw and joined Seth Rollins in a physical confrontation with Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre. The two former Shield teammates stood tall in the ring and fought side by side against the Intercontinental champion and his Scottish enforcer. Rollins is booked against Dolph for the IC title at SummerSlam on August 19 and Ambrose will be in his corner. But will Dean do the unthinkable and turn on his best friend? It seems like a long shot perhaps but the timing may be right for Ambrose to turn heel once again. Dean’s mission at SummerSlam is to bring his unique level of insanity to Seth’s corner. He can even the odds for Rollins against Ziggler and McIntyre, which is something Seth has needed for quite some time. The Kingslayer has been trying to find a way to fend off both Drew and Dolph but to no avail. Rollins wants his Intercontinental Championship back but so far, he has been ..

WWE Officials Have Changed Their Minds About SAnitY’s Debut On SmackDown Live

Last week, it was reported that WWE officials were holding off on SAnitY’s debut on SmackDown Live because they wanted to slowly bring new talent to television after the Superstar Shakeup rather than have too many debuts and new characters to balance. However, it’s been two months and Eric Young, Killian Dain, and Alexander Wolfe have yet to appear on SmackDown or NXT since WrestleMania 34. While Nikki Cross was left behind in NXT and is getting a push, a lot of fans want to know what’s happening with SAnitY. Related: Backstage News On Why Nikki Cross Of SAnitY Isn’t Being Promoted To Main Roster According to the Wrestling Observer, WWE officials don’t have anything planned for the stable. The group has always garnered comparisons to The Wyatt Family. It will be pivotal to the trio’s success that they establish themselves as something very different and it’s clear WWE officials are still trying to figure out how to do that on SmackDown. With Harper and Rowan dominating the tag team..

Here Is Why SAnitY Haven’t Debuted on SmackDown Live Yet

Ringside News has an article up to explain why SmackDown Live stable SAnitY hasn’t made their debut on the blue brand yet. SAnitY SAnitY was announced to be getting their call-up from NXT during the Superstar Shake-Up the week after WrestleMania 34. Over a month on and we will haven’t seen them debut for the blue brand. So why is that? Bryan Alvarez spoke briefly during Wrestling Observer Live about why the faction has likely not made their debut yet. Here is what he had to say: “I’d like for them to be there soon. But they did the Superstar Shake-Up and a lot of names came up so it’s better to slowly bring some of them in instead of just throwing them all on tv at the same time and having people lost in the shuffle like Bobby Lashley.” If that is the case, it is likely WWE is waiting to capitalize on the faction when the time is right. One idea we’ve seen that has been speculated as a possible debut feud against The Bludgeon Brothers. This comes as the SmackDown Tag Team Champions..
