Announcing that a wrestler is hurt can take a story in several ways, including the option of someone specific causing the injury. That is a favorite in NXT and now we have seen it again, with another wrestler being attacked. That’s longer than expected. There are certain reasons that a wrestler has to be taken off of television at times and some of them are a lot more serious than others. Occasionally it is due to a health reason that needs to be addressed, meaning they need to go away for the time being. That seemed to be the case with a WWE star last year, but now things are getting a bit more complicated. This includes a full medical staff to take care of various issues, but there are other instances where additional help is needed. Occasionally WWE will send wrestlers to get help outside of the company and that seemed to be the case with one of its stars. That just might not be what happened though. IN CASE YOU MIsSED IT: Clean Bill: NXT Star Announces He Is Medically Cleared After Two Month Absence Earlier this month, a report surfaced saying that Matt Riddle had been sent to rehab following a second failed drug test. The Wrestling Observer reports that this is not the case though, as Riddle’s situation violates the WWE Wellness Policy. Riddle’s first positive test resulted would have likely resulted in a thirty day suspension (as per WWE’s policy), but he did not wrestle from July 25 until August 20, which is less than thirty days. Not So Far: Scarlett Reportedly Pulled From SmackDown Dark Match, What May Have Happened

Not so fast? There is a lot that comes together to make a wrestling show work, but the most important is of course the wrestlers themselves. This means a promotion has to keep the roster fresh and moving in order to prevent things from getting stale. For some reason though, a WWE star was not allowed to return to the ring this week despite being ready to do so. According to Fightful Select, there were plans for Scarlett to return to the ring during a SmackDown dark match after this week’s show. The original match would have seen Scarlett, Karrion Kross and Damian Priest face Matt Riddle, Braun Strowman and Liv Morgan. However, the match was changed, with Legado del Fantasma taking Kross and Scarlett’s place. According to 411mania.com, Scarlett was never told about the match and it was likely the result of either a match being merely pitched or some sort of internal error. The Usos Make Major WWE History

Down since Day One. Tonight on Smackdown, The Usos successfully defended their Undisputed Tag Team Championships against the New Day. In doing so, they ensured that they would be making WWE history. This coming Monday, November 14, will mark their 484th day as champions. This means that they will officially become the longest-reigning WWE Tag Team Champions of all time. Jimmy and Jey Uso have held the Smackdown Tag Team Championships since July 18, 2021, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio at the Money in the Bank premium live event. They would add the Raw Tag Team Championships on May 20 of this year, when they defeated Randy Orton and Matt Riddle (RK-Bro) on an episode of Smackdown. Editor’s Opinion: This is freaking awesome and also very expected. The Bloodline has been the best storyline in professional wrestling over the last several years, and the Usos have firmly established themselves as one of the greatest tag teams of all time. One of the most common stories that you will see is a betrayal of a friendship, where one wrestler turns on his partner and friend out of nowhere. WWE had plans to do that again on a big scale but now an injury has changed those plans in a big way. Back in May, Randy Orton was forced to take time away from WWE due to a serious back injury. During his absence, Orton’s partner Matt Riddle has continued to talk about Orton as well as using his signature moves. According to WrestleVotes during an interview with GiveMeSport, the original plan for Orton’s return would have seen him turn on Riddle the night he came back. He’ll get better at it. There are all kinds of ways to spice up a match and one of the most common is to bring in someone from outside to make the match feel more special. This could include anything from a stipulation to someone extra being included. Last weekend WWE included someone extra in a match but things almost went rather bad just before the match was starting. Last Saturday at WWE Extreme Rules, UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier refereed the show’s main event between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle in the Fight Pit. Cormier discussed the event on the DC & RC Show (the Extreme Rules portion begins around 3:30), revealing that he was incredibly nervous before the match began. The issue reached the point that Cormier even forgot the finish to the match and had to ask what it was supposed to be again. There is no word on if WWE plans to use Cormier again. There are only so many ways to make that work though and WWE has to strive to make it work. One of the best ways to be ahead of the pack is to be a big success and WWE seems to be rather happy with their most recent major show, perhaps more than ever. Over the weekend, WWE presented their annual Extreme Rules event. According to Wrestlinginc.com, WWE sent out an internal memo celebrating the event’s success. The event was said to be the highest grossing Extreme Rules as well as the most viewed Extreme Rules of all time. The show was headlined by Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle inside the Fight Pit and the reveal of the White Rabbit, who wound up being a returning Bray Wyatt. He’ll pass for now. There are very few stars in the history of WWE who have become anything close to Brock Lesnar. Over the years, Lesnar has become one of the top attractions in modern WWE and it takes the right kind of opponent to give him a challenge. To make it more impressive, Lesnar was also a success in mixed martial arts, and it turns out that he turned down a fight there as well. Back in 2018, Lesnar seemed to be ready to set up a fight with fellow UFC heavyweight Daniel Cormier. However, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Lesnar turned down the idea of fighting Cormier for unknown reasons. Lesnar would eventually fight once more in the UFC before returning to WWE. Cormier made his WWE debut this weekend as the guest referee in the Fight Pit between Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle at Extreme Rules. The night wasn’t over. There is a lot that takes place at any given WWE television taping. Of course you have the main show that you came to see, but there is also a lot more that you only get live rather than at home. Sometimes that is the best part of the night as it can be a little more loose than anything else. That might have been the situation this week after a TV show. One of the biggest feuds currently taking place in WWE is Seth Rollins vs. Matt Riddle. The two are scheduled to face each other in a Fight Pit match at Extreme Rules but they were not allowed to get physical this week on Monday Night Raw. After the show was over though, Rollins came to the ring and said that the no physicality rule expired, leading to Riddle coming out for a brawl.
