What could have been. There are all kinds of records and accomplishments in WWE history but only a few stand out above the rest. These are the moments and triumphs that are remembered for years to come and it can mean a lot to see one of them either reached or ended. Perhaps the most famous one cane to an end about nine years ago, but it was almost much sooner. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Battle Continues: WWE Interested In Star Who Appeared On AEW Dynamite At WrestleMania 30 in 2014, the Undertaker’s 21-0 undefeated streak at WrestleMania came to an end. The Streak, which began in 1991, had seen Undertaker defeat several future Hall of Famers and win multiple World Titles at WrestleMania. However, in an interview with Ariel Helwani on BT Sport, Undertaker revealed that there had been other names considered to break the Streak. This included Vladimir Kozlov, as well as Edge, the latter of whom refused to do it because of his respect for what the Streak meant. Undertaker did not learn ..

He Did It: Jon Moxley Is First To Reach Major AEW Milestone

He’s the first. While they might not always seem like it, wins and losses make a big difference in wrestling. If a wrestler is not treated as someone who can win matches when they matter, or at all really, the fans are going to pick up on it. That is why winning consistently can make someone a big star, and now someone has reached quite the winning milestone. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Ouch: AEW Personality Says He Might Have Suffered A Broken Jaw This Week The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Jon Moxley defeat Evil Uno via submission. No Vacancy? Update On Former WWE Stars Returning To The Company

There had to be a limit. One of the bigger wrestling stories over the last several months has been the return of several former WWE stars to the company. WWE released well over 100 wrestlers from their contracts over the previous year and a half, but now the Triple H regime has brought several of them back. However, things might be changing a bit as we move forward. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: They Deserve It: WWE Hypes Several Records Broken At Elimination Chamber Earlier this month, a report said that WWE was negotiating with the Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering about a return to the company. However, according to Fightful Select, other than those returns, “things have been quiet” on the returns front. There is no word on if WWE is interested in bringing back more names or if the company has run out of wrestlers they want to have return. There have been some big returns. They Deserve It: WWE Hypes Several Records Broken At Elimination Chamber

They did well. WWE normally runs a premium live event a month on average, many of which have been running for a very long time now. It makes for quite the tradition as you know what you are going to get most of the time, which can help build up the anticipation. That was the situation over the weekend and now it seems that WWE has done rather well with its annual event. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Showdown Time: Here Are Two More Showdowns You Can Pencil In For WrestleMania 39 Over the weekend, WWE presented its annual Elimination Chamber event, featuring a pair of the show’s namesake matches and Roman Reigns defending the Undisputed WWE Universal Title against Sami Zayn. DIG IT! Randy Savage’s Rap Album (Yes That One) Is Coming Back In A Special Way

OH YEAH! There have been all kinds of wrestling merchandise over the years and some of them are more unique than others. You never know what you might find out there as occasionally wrestlers will go a bit out of the box to market themselves. On occasion these items are more infamous than anything else and now one of the weirder ones ever is coming back. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Oh Yeah: Steve Austin Officially Set For Upcoming A&E Series Back in 2003, Macho Man Randy Savage released his debut, and only, rap album called “Be A Man”. The album featured an infamous title track attacking Hulk Hogan for various reasons. Recordstoreday.com has announced that the album will be re-released on vinyl for National Record Store Day on April 22. However, there will only be 1000 copies made and released throughout the country. It was a different time. The New King: Gunther Sets Impressive All Time Record In Royal Rumble Match

Down it goes. Wrestling is like any other sport in a lot of ways, including by having numbers and statistics play a huge role. There are certain records that are well known among wrestling fans, but every now and then one of those numbers will fall. It can be a big deal when something like that happens, and it happened again in a big way this weekend on a grand stage. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Homecoming: Surprise Return Kicks Off WWE Royal Rumble This weekend, WWE presented its annual Royal Rumble event. The show opened with the Men’s Royal Rumble match, which saw Gunther enter at #1 and set a new longevity record for the match. Gunther lasted 1:11:25, breaking Rey Mysterio’s record of 62:12 set in 2006. Commentary did make it clear that Gunther’s record was in traditional Royal Rumble matches, as Daniel Bryan lasted 74:12 in the Greatest Royal Rumble in 2018, though that match had 50 entrants compared to the traditional 30. Gunther finished as the match’s runner up to Cody Rhodes. Th..

WATCH: WWE Continues To Erase Bryan Danielson From Its History

The new history. There have been all kinds of moments and incidents throughout WWE history, some of which are more notable than others. In most cases, the issues are written in black and white, but there are some cases that can be a bit more of a gray area. Now WWE is changing something up from what once was pretty straightforward to something a bit more complicated. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Extension Granted: Sami Zayn’s Original Plans With The Bloodline Were Very, Very Different In the 2023 edition of the Rumble By The Numbers video, the all time longevity record is once again held by Rey Mysterio in the 2006 Royal Rumble. There is no word on why WWE made the change but the Greatest Royal Rumble stats are included in other records in the video. There’s the history. WWE Breaks All-Time Gate Record For WrestleMania 39

People are excited. WWE issued a press release today, stating that they have broken the company’s all-time gate record for any WrestleMania, despite having yet to announce a single match. The previous record announced was $17.3 million in 2016 at WrestleMania 32 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas. From the press release: The record gate comes on the heels of unprecedented ticket sales demand for WWE in 2022, in which it produced the highest-grossing gates of all-time for Royal Rumble, Survivor Series and Extreme Rules. Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales, which marked WWE’s first major stadium show in the U.K. in 30 years, was the highest-grossing U.K. event in company history. Additionally, WWE set in-market gate records for SmackDown and Raw events in more than 20 markets for the year, including the December 30 SmackDown, which took place in Tampa, Fla. and heralded the return of WWE Superstar John Cena. Limited single and two-day combo tickets for WrestleMania Goes Hollywood ..

Uh, Yay? AEW Star Officially Reaches Dubious Benchmark

Call it an honor? AEW launched nearly four years ago with its first event in May 2019. The company promised to offer several new ideas and concepts, with one being a more sports based presentation. This included keeping track of wins and losses, which can pile up in a hurry. Now one AEW wrestler has reached a milestone that is noteworthy, but maybe not in the most positive way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: AEW’s Thunder Rosa Records First Song This week on AEW Dark: Elevation, Lee Moriarty defeated Serpentico in a singles match. The loss gave Serpentico his 100th defeat in AEW, making him the first wrestler to reach that total number of losses in the company. Serpentico made his AEW debut in March 2020 and has wrestled both singles matches as well as teaming with Luther as the Chaos Project. Following his loss, Serpentico commented on the milestone: hold up y’all were counting this ENTIRE time? — MR. PENTICO ?? (@KingSerpentico) December 6, 2022 Serpentico has been around for a ..

WATCH: AEW’s Thunder Rosa Records First Song

It’s another field. Wrestlers are very talented performers in that they are able to go to a ring or grab a microphone and convince fans to watch something that they are doing. That is more difficult than it seems but it can be very effective when it is done right. It also isn’t the only talent that wrestlers have though, and now one prominent name is getting to showcase another one. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Perfect Timing: AEW’s Saraya Undergoes Ironic Surgery AEW’s Thunder Rosa has released a video on her Instagram showing her recording her first single in a studio. Rosa says that the song will be released at some point in early 2023 and that she would be releasing a video of her recording the song on her Patreon. She has also been working with a writer and a singing coach for the song. Rosa has been injured since August and there is no word on when she will be returning to the ring. She seems interested. That’s What’s Up: Internal WWE Memo Reveals Several New Survivor Series Records

It deserves some praise. WWE runs several events a year, some of which are among the biggest shows put on by any wrestling company in the world. It means a lot for a star to appear on one of those shows as there is great exposure than on almost any other platform. That is the case this week as well, and now we know just how big things were on a recent major event. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Ouch: Damage Ctrl Member’s Neck Issues May Be More Serious Than They Seem According to Fightful Select, WWE released an internal memo about the success of this year’s Survivor Series. Some of the highlights include: Viewership was up 46%, making it the more viewed Survivor Series on record. In-venue merchandise sales were the highest on record and up 20% over the 2021 Survivor Series. The live gate set records for both Survivor Series and any WWE event in Boston. WWE’s “fan enjoyment rating” saw a 48% increase over the 2021 event. The show was a blast. Check out some of the highlights: [This post co..

WATCH: The Miz Fights A Cactus (And Loses)

It’s a dangerous sport. There are all kinds of ways a wrestler can be injured in the ring, but there are even more possible issues outside of the ring. It can be a terrible thing to see a wrestler be hurt, but not all injures are created equally. There are instances where an injury might not be as serious as another, and it certainly helps when the injury doesn’t seem to actually have happened. That seems to be the case again. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RUMOR KILLERS On Two WWE Money In The Bank Stories This week on Monday Night Raw, the Miz announced that he was unable to face Johnny Gargano in a match as he had injured his hand on a cactus. Miz has now posted a video to Instagram, showing himself hitting a toy cactus that records and repeats anything he says in a distorted voice. After hitting the cactus, Miz says that he is hurt again and it’s bad, though there is a disclaimer saying that it is NOT the real cactus. He is currently still scheduled to face Dexter Lumis next week on Mond..

WWE Set To Likely Break All Time Royal Rumble Record

Records are made to be broken. WWE has been around for a very long time now and the company has quite the history. Over the decades, WWE has put together all kinds of shows and events that take place on a regular basis. These are some of the most famous events in all of wrestling and now WWE seems set to break a record with a show that has been running for well over thirty years. WWE has announced that the 2023 Royal Rumble will be held at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas on January 28. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the show has already sold $4.6 million in tickets, the second highest advance total ever. The show is likely to break the record in the nearly three months left to sell tickets. There is currently no premium live event scheduled between this Saturday’s Crown Jewel and the Royal Rumble. Opinion: WWE seems to be doing a lot of things right at the moment and this is even more proof that things are going their way. Being able to point to a record like this helps a..

Former WWE Star Gets Very Good Legal News

That’s a good step forward. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who are regularly on television doing things that no one else would ever do in regular life. That can make for some rather interesting moments, though that is not the end of what happens to them. There are several things that take place after the cameras stop rolling and now a former wrestler is getting some good news in his personal life. Last month, Patrick Clark, better known as Velveteen Dream, was arrested twice in the span of a week on various charges. However, according to PWInsider.com, the August 20 charges of First Degree Battery and Trespassing have been closed, as a hearing scheduled for September 28 has been canceled. Court records cited a lack of evidence in dropping the charges. Clark was recently released from a 25 day jail sentence for a probation violation stemming from the August 20 charges. Opinion: That is some good news for Clark, but he still has more than enough legal issues to worry about. ..

Well Done: Upcoming WWE Event Likely To Set An All Time Record

Records are made to be broken. WWE has been running major events for a very long time now and that will continue to be the case for several years to come. After nearly forty years of pay per view events, WWE is running out of ideas, but there are still some things that they have not done very often. This includes not running many outside of the United States, though that will change this year, and in a record setting way. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, September’s Clash At The Castle event in Cardiff, Wales has sold about 40,000 tickets so far. A sellout of the stadium will be about 69,000 fans and if that takes place, as it should, the event will be the largest non-WrestleMania gate in wrestling history, as well as beating most WrestleManias. No matches have been announced for the card so far. Opinion: This is one of those things that WWE can do like no one else, as they are basically getting a WrestleMania sized event for a show that probably won’t be anywhere clos..

You Might Not Be Seeing A Special Grudge Match At AEW Revolution

We might have to wait on that one. AEW has not been around for very long but they have managed to put together one of the best pay per view track records in wrestling history. It is rare for the company to have a major show that is less than great and that makes the announcement of a new one all the more special. AEW will be back on pay per view next month but one match might be missing from the card. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite featured the debut of Buddy Matthews as the newest member of the House of Black. Matthews helped attack Pac and Penta Obscura of the Death Triangle, including stomping Obsccura’s face into a chair. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this is not expected to result in a six man tag between Death Triangle and the House of Black as Rey Fenix will not be medically cleared from his elbow injury in January. Fenix is expected to be out of action for three more weeks, though there is a possibility that he will return to action by Revolution on March 6. Opi..

Former AEW Star Announces Awesome Career Move

It’s a different career. Professional wrestlers are very talented people. You don’t get to the top level of your profession without a good deal of skill and that is often on display. However, it does not mean that wrestling is the only thing these wrestlers can do well, though you do not get to see it very often. Now though, you might be seeing someone getting to showcase their talents in another way. Lio Rush has announced that he has signed a deal with the Universal Music Group, Thump Records and Virgin Music. There is no word on what this means for Rush or if he will be releasing an album or singles in the near future. Rush had previously stepped away from the ring to work on music before returning. Earlier this month, Rush announced that his AEW contract would be expiring, making him a free agent. Today I signed a deal with @UMG #UniversalMusicGroup , @ThumpRecords and @virginmusic . ??? ? #LioRush pic.twitter.com/GvaXC7CtZX — Lio Rush (@IamLioRush) January 28, 2022 Opinion: I’..

A WWE Title Record Was Broken This Week (And That Makes It More Impressive)

That’s what they are made for. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it cannot be easy to make yourself stand out. One of the few ways to do so is win a title and then hold onto it for a very long time. There have been quite a few longstanding title reigns over the years and several records have been set in the company’s history. One of them was broken this week. Earlier this week, the Usos became the longest reigning SmackDown Tag Team Champions in history, with their reign having reached 188 days as of Saturday. This breaks the previous record of 182 days, which was also set by the Usos in their 2017-2018 reign. The Usos are currently in their fifth reign with the titles and have held the championships for a record 568 days and counting. Opinion: This is one of those records that is going to be around for a very long time to come as it is hard to imagine most title reigns making it all the way to six months. The Usos have lapped the field with these titles and no one, including..

WATCH: All Time WWE Record Set On SmackDown

Records are made to be broken. WWE has been around for a very long time now and that means there have been a lot of moments over the years. Some of these are more notable than others, while some of them are flat out better than others. That can make for some interesting situations, including some that are rather noteworthy. Another one of those took place this week. This week on SmackDown, Aliyah defeated Natalya in a record 3.17 seconds, as she rolled Natalya up for the pin at the bell. Before the match, Natalya had been bragging about her three Guinness World Records and wanted to add a fourth to the list by defeating Aliyah in the fastest time ever. This was Aliyah’s singles debut on WWE television, though she had wrestled several tag matches. Aliyah has been around for a bit. WWE Star Sets Third Guinness World Record This Year

She did it again. Wrestling is a little bit different when it comes to records as it is a little bit difficult to buy what a wrestling promotion or a wrestler says happened. It can get a little confusing with everything going on and how many different ways a company likes to stretch the truth, but sometimes you can get some outside sources. That is the case again for a pretty impressive WWE milestone. Guinness World Records has announced that WWE’s Natalya has officially set the record for most matches won by a woman in the history of the company. As of November 2021, Natalya won her 641st match, which means the record breaking win could have come on November 10 at a live event in Manchester, England or in a tag match on the November 19 SmackDown. This comes less than two months after Natalya was certified as having the most matches and pay per view appearances by a woman in WWE history. She's made the most PPV appearances and had the most matches for a female in WWE history… N..
