NXT Date: December 6, 2022 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Booker T., Vic Joseph It’s the go home show for Deadline and I’m not exactly expecting much tonight as a result. The card is mostly set, though we do need to determine the final entrants in each Iron Survivor Challenge. That means a pair of triple threat matches and they at least have some stakes going in. Let’s get to it. Iron Survivor Challenge Qualifying Match: Axiom vs. Von Wagner vs. Andre Chase The rest of Chase U is here with Chase. A running boot rocks Wagner at the bell but he’s fine enough to headlock both of them at once. That’s broken up and a double shoulder puts Wagner on the floor. Axiom loads up a dive but gets rolled up for two by Chase. That’s enough for Wagner to get back up and send them both outside as we take a break. WWE Made A Match, Upgraded The Match And Didn’t Air The Match
They changed their minds. There are a lot of issues with WWE at the moment and one of them is their inability to present the matches and segments that they advertise. WWE has a bad tendency to change their minds on something they plan to present and it can create issues. That was the case again this week, despite a last minute advertisement of the match. Last week on Monday Night Raw, Kevin Owens issued a challenge to either Ezekiel, Elias or their brother Elrod. Ezekiel accepted the challenge on behalf of his family and it was officially announced for this week’s show. On top of that, at 6am on Monday morning, WWE announced that the match would be a Money in the Bank qualifying match. AEW Wanted To Run Two HUGE Tournaments
They had a different plan. Tournaments are a common idea in wrestling and something that can be used to quite the success. There is something so simple about putting a bunch of people into a field and seeing who comes out on top in the end. You can see all kinds of tournaments today and we almost saw another one, albeit not one that you see very often around here. Back in March, AEW began holding qualifying matches for the men’s and women’s Owen Hart Foundation tournaments, which will officially begin later this week. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, the original format would have been a round robin style tournament with all eight participants in each field facing each other once. However, this was seen as impossible due to time constraints. The finals of both tournaments will take place at Double Or Nothing. Welcome to the team. WWE has released well over one hundred wrestlers during the last year and a half. It is not clear if the string of releases has ended, but they have flooded the free agent market with some very talented wrestlers. That makes for some very interesting moments as wrestlers are able to appear all over the wrestling world. The same thing took place this week as another major name made his debut elsewhere. It’s Ready: Lineup Set For Elimination Chamber Match For WWE Title
And then there were six. With about two months to go before WrestleMania 38, it is time for WWE to start setting up the card. They have already set up what is likely to be the main event, but that match could very well change, as there is still a major event left to air. That event will be held on February 19 in Saudi Arabia with Elimination Chamber, and now we know what is going to be headlining the show. Is that a popular opinion? We are on the way to Survivor Series, with less than two weeks to go before this year’s edition. The show will again be focused on a battle between Monday Night Raw and SmackDown for brand supremacy, which has been the case for the last several years. Two of the big ones. We are just over two weeks away from one of the biggest events of the year, with Survivor Series coming up soon. Over the last few years, the show has been built around the idea of Monday Night Raw vs. SmackDown in a battle for brand supremacy. This has usually been done via traditional Survivor Series matches and that will be the case again this year. Now we know some important details.
