Maybe Later: Grudge Match Officially Pulled From Summerslam Card Due To Injury

The card is subject to change. We are less than a week away from Summerslam and that means the card is mostly set up. There is not much time left to change things around but every now and then, WWE will wait for the last minute to switch things up, and that is the case again this time. Unfortunately, it seems to be that it is due to an injury to one of the wrestlers. This week on the Bump, it was announced that Seth Rollins vs. Riddle has been pulled from the Summerslam card. Riddle was injured during an attack from Rollins on Monday Night Raw, resulting in Riddle suffering a stinger. The match has officially been postponed, but according to Fightful Select, is scheduled to take place at Clash At The Castle. Riddle’s injury is storyline only and he is cleared to compete. It’s A Special Case: Monday Night Raw Match Ends Due To Secret Rule

That’s the reason. Wrestling is a lot of things, but it is supposed to be presented as a sport. That means following various rules and regulations, with most matches following the same ones. On occasion there will be a match with something changed for a special situation, but this time around things were even more out there, as a match ended due to a rule that few know about. This week on Monday Night Raw, AJ Styles and Ezekiel defeated the Miz and Ciampa via disqualification when the illegal Ciampa attacked AJ Styles. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, this was due to a secret rule in WWE. In a tag match, a wrestler is allowed to make one illegal save, with the second drawing a disqualification. Ciampa was making his second save and was disqualified as a result. Opinion: I’m not sure I get why this is a secret rule. We aren’t done yet. One of the most interesting WWE stories over the last ten months has been Roman Reigns, who has dominated the SmackDown landscape. Reigns won the Universal Title on August 30 and there is nothing to suggest that he is slowing down anytime soon. One of the biggest problem is that Reigns is running out of challengers, but someone seems to have his eyes set on the title. This week on Talking Smack, Kevin Owens called Paul Heyman, who was not hosting the show as usual. Owens told Heyman not to hang up and promised to win the Money In The Bank contract and come after Reigns. He also said that there was nothing Heyman or Reigns could do about it. More Names Qualify For Money In The Bank Ladder Matches

Two less spots. We are less than a month away from Money In The Bank and that means it is time to start getting things ready for the for the show’s namesake matches. The Money In The Bank ladder matches are some of the biggest matches of the year and that will be the case again this time around, with eight entrants each in the men’s and women’s version. Now we know a few more names involved. Two more entrants were confirmed for the Money In The Bank ladder matches were confirmed during this week’s SmackDown. First up, Big E. defeated Apollo Crews with the Big Ending. Big E. was in trouble thanks to Commander Azeez, who was then ejected, allowing Big E. to pin Crews. Later, Carmella was announced for the match by Sonya Deville without having to win a match. Big E. joins Ricochet, Riddle and John Morrison in the men’s match while Carmella joins Asuka, Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross in the women’s match after they qualified on Monday Night Raw. Keep the card growing. Money In The Bank is in less than a month and it is time to start getting ready for the show. Part of the problem with the show is having so many people involved in the namesake matches, leaving the rest of the card with a bit less to pick from. That makes the non-ladder matches a bit more interesting, and now we know one of the bigger ones. This week on Monday Night Raw, Sonya Deville announced that Charlotte will challenges Rhea Ripley for the Raw Women’s Title at Money In The Bank. This will be a rematch from Hell In A Cell, where Ripley was disqualified for hitting Charlotte in the face with part of the announcers’ table. New Names Confirmed For Survivor Series Matches

The card keeps growing. We are just over three weeks away from Survivor Series and that means things are starting to pick up in a hurry. There are a lot of things going on already but several more details need to be put in place. With so many matches to come and so many spots on the card to fill, that can be quite the task, but WWE has been taking care of some things this week, including on SmackDown. Over the last few years, the main focus of Survivor Series has been on the Battle For Brand Supremacy. Both Monday Night Raw and SmackDown will send in wrestlers to compete in a series of elimination tags, with the winners gaining bragging rights for the year. Vince McMahon’s Secret Rule Caused Monday Night Raw Ending

Ok then. The biggest story of the week in WWE was Retribution coming up to the next level on Monday Night Raw. The team not only unmasked, but were also announced as having signed contracts with WWE. This meant that they were suddenly allowed to wrestle on the show, which took place in Monday’s main event. However, it ended in a weird way and now we know why. This week’s Monday Night Raw main event featured Retribution vs. the Hurt Business in a six man tag. The match ended with Retribution being disqualified when T-Bar attacked Bobby Lashley from the apron. As soon as the match was over, the reset of the masked members of Retribution came in and attacked the Hurt Business to end the show. Two more spots down. We’re getting close to Money in the Bank and now we’re down to the wire with the qualifiers. After several weeks though, we’re getting closer and closer to having the final lineups for both matches. Over the course of the last two days, we’ve seen three more names added to the match’s lineups. All three of those names were women, leaving very few names left to be filled in. So who made it this week? Check out this week’s Monday Night Raw results right here. During this week, Natalya, Lana and Naomi all qualified for the women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. Competitors Qualify for Mae Young Classic at NXT Tapings

The Mae Young Classic keeps getting stacked week after week. Two more participants got qualified into the prestigious tournament at the NXT Tapings this week.As we reported in our <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/2017/06/23/wwe-nxt-spoilers-june-28th-july-12th-2017/">spoiler results</a>, the two wrestlers who qualified for the tournament were NXT wrestlers Bianca BelAir (formerly known as Bianca Blair) and Vanessa Borne (formerly known as Danielle Kamella). The former qualified by defeating a fellow NXT wrestler, <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/aliyah" title="Aliyah">Aliyah</a> and the latter got into the tournament by surpassing an Indy wrestler called Jayme Jameson (originally known as Jayme Hachey).The Mae Young Classic will keep on recruiting quality female talent from all around the globe before it kicks off later this year.

Welcome to Ringside News’ coverage of WWE Extreme Rules 2017!Let’s start at the top for a change: the Kick-Off show begins at 7:00 PM EST, and the main show starts at 8 PM. The Kick-Off show will see another rematch between Kalisto and Apollo Crews, with Titus O’Neil in Apollo’s corner. Originally the pre-show match was supposed to be the mixed tag match but it was changed just today. So join us for the Kick-Off show and get the results of this match and the rundown of the entire card.Two tag team matches take place on the main card tonight, one of which is The Hardy Boyz Vs Sheamus & Cesaro for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships. This match will take place inside of a steel cage and the stipulation is fitting because things have gotten personal between the two teams. The other match is the mixed tag team match with Rich Swann & Sasha Banks against Noam Dar and Alicia Fox. This match was on the pre-show but was moved to the main card, as far as I can tell. The match doesn’t really have a stipulation, besides the genders, but it will look to settle the score once and for all between Noam Dar, Alicia Fox, and Rich Swann.Dean Ambrose puts his Intercontinental Championship on the line against The Miz on tonight’s show. This match is kind of the opposite of every other on the card tonight, as Dean Ambrose will lose his title if he gets disqualified against Miz. This stipulation was put in place because The Miz claims Ambrose cannot win matches without getting crazy, and also to differentiate it from the rest of the card. The odds are already stacked against Ambrose, but there is a strong chance <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/elias-samson" title="Elias Samson">Elias Samson</a> may interfere and attack The Miz – reflecting his “eye for an eye” lyric on Raw this past week. Let us know who you think will walk out with the gold!Speaking of gold, Neville stands a strong chance of losing his tonight, as he faces <a href="http://www.ringsidenews.com/wrestler/austin-aries" title="Austin Aries">Austin Aries</a> in a submission match. This is the third PPV in a row that Neville and Aries will have gone toe-to-toe and it seems like the chances of Neville retaining are super slim. Aries has been run through the gauntlet time and time again by Neville and TJP, but tonight the odds actually favour him, and the only way to keep things going is for Aries to grab a win against the King of the Cruiserweights.Alexa Bliss battles Bayley in a Kendo Stick-On-A-Pole match, following one of the worst WWE TV segments in recent memory. Last Monday, Bliss gave us a Bayley, This Is Your Life segment, but what transpired was a lot more like Jerry Springer than The Rock ‘n’ Sock Connection. This left us less-than-excited for the title match tonight, especially considering the gimmick of the match means that there won’t be any use of the Kendo Stick for the majority of the match.
