That’s an amazing turnaround. You never want to see a wrestler get hurt as it can leave them out of the ring for a very long time. There are some incredibly serious injuries out there and some of them can take years away from a wrestler’s career. It can be quite the sight to see them get back in the ring and we might be on the way to seeing that with a wrestling legend. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: On The Bad List: WWE Star Reveals She Is “Beat Up”, Possibly Out Of Action Buff Bagwell was involved in a June 2020 car wreck that resulted in a variety of injuries, including a hurt knee. Bagwell appeared on Road Dogg’s Oh…You Didn’t Know podcast and revealed that if an upcoming test shows no evidence of infection in his knee, he can have a rod planted into it, followed by a knee replacement. If those procedures go well, Bagwell could return to the ring after he recovers. Bagwell, 53 years old, has only wrestled four times since his injury, most recently in October 2023. Bagwell has had a nice..
That could keep him out for a bit. AEW’s roster has been built up from several varieties of wrestlers. The company consists of current stars, up and coming wrestlers and legends, all of whom have come together for a variety of storylines and matches. Now though, one of the biggest names the company has is going to be missing in action for a bit due to a needed medical procedure. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Maybe Not? Conflicting Reports On Reason Behind Miro’s AEW Absence AEW’s Sting recently appeared on the K&C Masterpiece podcast and revealed he had knee surgery “six or seven weeks ago” in order to clear his knees out. Sting also spoke about how important physical therapy is to the recovery process. He did not say when he would be able to return to the ring. Sting last wrestled at AEW Full Gear on November 19 in a tag match. Sting has done quite well during his time in AEW. Check out some of his tenure in the company: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains vid..
That’s a valid reason. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be easy to lose track of some of them. When someone goes away, you might miss them at first but then they have been gone so long that they are forgotten altogether. That is the situation with a current WWE star who has been missing for a good while but now we might know where he has been. WWE’s Robert Roode has revealed on Instagram that he underwent a medical procedure in Birmingham, Alabama this week. There is no word on what kind of procedure it was or how severe Roode’s condition was prior to the procedure. Roode has not wrestled since a live event on June 25 and there is no word on when he will be returning to the ring following his procedure. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Robert Roode (@realrobertroode) Opinion: That does explain a few things, as Roode has not been around for a rather long time now. It was weird not seeing him around whatsoever and hopefully he can be back in the ring sooner..
That might be for the best. There have been a lot of wrestlers throughout history but only a few of them have reached the top level. Fans know the biggest names in history because they have left enough of a mark throughout their careers. That is the case with one wrestling legend, though he has announced that he can never wrestle again as the injuries have caught up with him. During an appearance on the Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle revealed that he will never wrestle again after double knee replacement surgery. As a result, he is not wrestling again out of fear of hurting his knees again. Angle said that while he is still in a lot of pain, he can walk around better than before the procedure. His final match took place at WrestleMania 35 against Baron Corbin. Opinion: Angle is one of the all time greats but it is nice to see that he has finally decided to hang it up. He has such a long history of injuries and sticking around through injuries th..
That’s never good to hear. A lot of wrestlers have stepped into the ring over the years and several of them have had quite the success. However, there are only a few who reach the very top levels and become legends. These are names that almost any wrestling fan knows and it can be sad to see them have health issues later in life. Unfortunately that is the case again, and now it is fairly serious. WWE Hall Of Famer Superstar Billy Graham has announced on Facebook that he will be undergoing surgery that will result in the amputation of some of his toes. The surgery is the result an infection in his toes with the procedure taking place at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Graham has had several health issues in recent years, including multiple issues with his kidneys. Opinion: This is something that you never want to see as Graham’s health issues continue. Having part of your body taken away is never a good thing and it seems to be another step down a fairly long and downhill slo..
Ouch. Injuries are some of the worst things that can happen to a wrestler as you never know how long they are going to keep someone out. In addition, there is always the chance that someone is going to come back and then get hurt all over again. Unfortunately that seems to be the case again, as a recently returned AEW wrestler is now going to be missing even more time. It was revealed during this week’s edition of AEW Rampage that Anthony Bowens has been attacked and suffered a knee injury. Bowens has sent out a tweet showing himself in the hospital and revealing that he will be undergoing a procedure on his knee to repair an injury. This comes after Bowens returned from a two month hiatus earlier this week due to a knee injury. It is not clear how long he will be out of action. Without getting into too much detail..bc of the attack after Elevation on Monday, I had to undergo a procedure this week to fix my knee. Story of my life..1 step forward, 2 steps back. #AEWRampage pic.twitter..
He’ll be back. Retirement is a weird thing in wrestling, as it is rare for a wrestler to ever truly walk away from wrestling as a whole. There is always the chance to see someone get back in the ring for a one off appearance or one final run, which can take some fans by surprise. Now another wrestler who seemed like he might have been done has clarified his status and explained where he has been. Titus O’Neil Appeared on 95.3 WDAE (St. Petersburg, Florida) and revealed that he is currently rehabbing from a medical procedure on his knee. O’Neil made it clear that he has not retired from the ring and plans to wrestle again. There is no word on what O’Neil had done or when he will be back in the ring. O’Neil’s most recent match took place on the November 9, 2020 edition of Monday Night Raw when he lost to Bobby Lashley. Opinion: O’Neil is one of the most fascinating cases in WWE as he has never had the greatest success in the ring, but everything else he does outside of it more than mak..
It might be a bit. Injuries are one of the few universals in the wrestling world. No matter how experienced or talented a wrestler may be, there is always the chance that they are going to suffer some sort of an injury. It might come all at once or be built up over time, but it is always a possibility. That is the case in for a rather prominent star, and he might be gone for awhile. According to PWInsider.com, former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega may be missing an extended period of time due to injuries. Omega is likely to undergo shoulder surgery and there is no word on how long he will be out, assuming he does undergo the procedure. Omega lost the AEW World Title to Hangman Page in the main event of last weekend’s Full Gear pay per view. AEW would miss Omega if he has to go away. Check out what he can do while he is around: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: This is never a g..
Hopefully the surgery makes things better. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who we watch on TV every week, but there are things that take place when the cameras go off. Unfortunately some of these things are a lot more serious than others, including a wrestler’s health. That is the case again with a wrestling legend, who is undergoing a procedure while already in pretty serious shape. Bobby Fulton, most well known as part of the Fantastics tag team, has announced that he underwent throat surgery on Monday. There is no word on what Fulton’s surgery is for, though he was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2019. Fulton retired from wrestling in 2020, following a forty three year career in wrestling. He last wrestled on December 14, 2019 in an eight man tag at Bobby Eaton: A Night Of Appreciation. Having surgery today on my throat! Please pray for wisdom for the surgeons and that all goes well! Hopefully it isn’t too bad. Wrestlers are larger than life characters and you are going to see them doing some completely insane things at various times. That can make it hard to believe that anything could ever happen to them, but that is often the case every so often. It was the case again this week and it is something rather serious to one of the more prominent names in wrestling. WWE has announced that Paul Levesque, better known as Triple H, underwent a successful procedure last week following a cardiac incident. The issue was caused due to a genetic issue and Triple H is expected to make a full recovery. There is no word on when Triple H will be able to make a return to work. Triple H has recently lost much of his authority in NXT due to various backstage changes in WWE. That’s certainly not good. That’s a valid reason. Despite there being so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be rather telling when someone goes missing. That can be the case for a lot of reasons and some of them are more serious than others. Sometimes someone is going to have a physical issue of some sort, which is the case again now with a missing member of the NXT roster. Last week, NXT’s Ember Moon was pulled from her scheduled match on the day of the show with no explanation. According to Fightful Select, Moon was recovering from a dental procedure and was not medically cleared to compete. Moon offered to wrestle the match anyway but WWE would not allow her to do so. There is no word on when Moon will return to the ring. Dakota Kai took her place against Sarray and went on to win the match. Moon is going to be fine. 205 Live Date: July 30, 2021 Location: Capitol Wrestling Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Nigel McGuinness, Vic Joseph We seem to be getting back into the standard operating procedure with this show and that is kind of an annoying situation. It means that we are going to be seeing a lot of the same stuff over and over again with some different faces. The show is far from awful, but it’s forgettable, which might be worse. Let’s get to it. Grayson Waller vs. Ikemen Jiro The watermelon jacket is back this week. Waller actually shakes hands but then begs off as the fans chant for the jacket. Some knees to the ribs and a shoulder put Jiro down but he’s right back with a running hurricanrana. Waller is knocked outside so Jiro joins him only to be dropped…face first on the floor, though I think Waller was aiming for the apron. Back in and Waller clotheslines him down hard as the aggression continues. Jiro comes right back with a spinwheel kick and some shots to the face. The Tarantul..
That never sounds good. With so many wrestlers on the WWE roster, it can be hard to keep track of what everyone is doing. Sometimes this means that one of them might slip underneath the radar, allowing them to do something else if they need to. That is not always the best news to hear, and in this case it seems that someone has been gone for a less than great reason. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, SmackDown’s Montez Ford has undergone surgery but will not be out of action for very long. There is no word on what kind of procedure Ford had done, but it is not related to any kind of an injury. Ford has posted a photo of himself in the hospital, with the caption of “GOD IS GOOD”. While Ford has been appearing on WWE TV, he has been out of action since June 11 due to a storyline rib injury at the hands of Otis. View this post on Instagram A post shared by ???? ??? A slight delay. There are stars in WWE and then there are THE stars in WWE. The company’s biggest names are the people that you know by sight or even by nickname and those are the people that WWE is going to push the hardest. Those wrestlers have star power that can’t be manufactured but one of those big names is not going to be around for a little longer than expected. Back in June, Charlotte took a hiatus from WWE, which really did shake things up a bit. The timing did not help things as Charlotte’s departure came only about a month after Becky Lynch went on maternity leave, meaning that the two biggest stars of the women’s division were both gone within a few weeks of each other. Neither are back yet and it might be a bit longer before we Charlotte again. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there is no word on when Charlotte will be back. While Charlotte initially left to have a cosmetic procedure, she is also missing time due to work outside of WWE. Charlotte has signed with t..
The more you know. The COVID-19 pandemic has been at the forefront of world culture for the past 6 months, and almost every industry has been affected by its devastation. However, professional wrestling has found a way to remain on the air, using testing to providing a safe working environment for all of their performers, staff, and production team. But how have they done it? According to a report from Wrestling Inc., both WWE and AEW are doing weekly COVID-19 tests to all performers, to ensure that it is safe for them to be in a wrestling ring each night. Furthermore, the fact that all performers have been tested has led to the relaxed nature of mask-wearing by the talent for both companies. Here is how each company is handling its testing procedures: WWE: All talents are instructed to show up to a parking garage the day before tapings. Talents stay in their cars and are given a nasal swab test. The talent then leave and are sent a text, or other message, later that night letting..
Some people have a drive that just won’t quit. According to the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Jerry “The King” Lawler is in need of double knee replacement surgery, but will not be undergoing the procedure. He, in fact, will continue to compete in the ring. Here’s a clip of him in a heated rivalry with Michael Cole from 2013: [This post contains video, click to play] The King has made sporadic appearances with WWE, mostly as a member of various kick-off panels prior to pay-per-view events. However, has not competed in a match with them in quite some time. Lawler was most recently in the news when it was reported that his son, Brian, took his own life while being in person for a Disorderly Conduct charge. Editor’s Opinion: No matter where he goes, he will always be a draw and people will always look forward to seeing him. The King is one of the most legendary figures in the history of professional wrestling, both on the mic and in the ring, and is always e..
She’s hardcore. There are very few things in athletics harder than winning an Olympic medal. It takes several years of dedication and training, as the competition is literally the best in the world. A few of them have made the move over to professional wrestling, including Ronda Rousey. That same toughness that helped earn her an Olympic medal in judo has helped her in other areas, as a new story explains. Mark Henry was recently a guest on Busted Open Radio and told a story about Rousey undergoing treatment for an injury that involved having stem cells injected. Henry had undergone the same procedure and upon waking up, begged to be put back to sleep to avoid the pain. Rousey underwent the procedure while awake without anesthesia, which was enough for Henry to see her as one of the toughest people in the world. Here is Henry’s version of the story, with transcription courtesy of Wrestlinginc.com: “Maybe it’s not for me to tell this story, but I’ll let the cat out the bag. I heard, b..
