Ring Of Honor TV Results – March 9, 2023

Ring Of Honor Date: March 9, 2023 Location: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman We’re still on the first taping of this new show so things are likely to look like they did last week. The wrestling itself was pretty good, but the length of the show was quite the drag. They did offer something big at the end with Eddie Kingston showing up to challenge Claudio Castagnoli, so there is at least a path forward in the main event. Let’s get to it. TV Title: Samoa Joe vs. Tony Deppen Joe is defending and works on the wrist to start. For some reason Deppen strikes away, earning himself a beating in the corner. Deppen fights back though and hits a running corner dropkick. A knee gives Deppen two more but Joe Rock Bottoms him out of the corner. Joe blasts him with a clothesline though and the MuscleBuster retains the title at 5:26. Result: Samoa Joe b. Tony Deppen – MuscleBuster (5:26) Post match Joe says that he always runs this place no matter wha..

WATCH: WWE And AEW Stars Reunite In New Music Video

Together again. The last few years have seen several changes in the rosters for both WWE and AEW. This has included all kinds of releases and signings to the other company, several of which have never gotten their first major change. It can mean a lot for those wrestlers to come back together, which is what happened again recently. This time though it had nothing to do with wrestling. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Mick Foley Wants To Join The Judgment Day (And It’s Great) Former Hit Row teammates Swerve Strickland (AEW), Top Dolla (WWE) and B Fab (WWE) reunited in a music video for the music video for the Monteasy song “Price Went Up”. The group, plus Ashante The Adonis, teamed together in NXT before being called up to the main roster, where they were released just over a month later. Everyone but Strickland was re-signed to WWE last year. It was something different. Ring Of Honor TV Results – March 2, 2023

Ring Of Honor Date: March 2, 2023 Location: Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman So after a year or so of Ring Of Honor being a major part of AEW, it is time for the company to get its own show. That might mean quite a few things, but there is a good chance that we are going to be seeing a bunch of AEW stars around here. This show could go in a few different ways though so let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Mark Briscoe vs. Slim J The rest of the Trustbusters are here with Slim J, who kicks away the Code Of Honor before the bell. Redneck Kung Fu sends J outside but a Mark Sterling distraction lets J get in a low blow. Briscoe is fine enough to kick J to the floor, setting up the dropkick through the ropes. It’s too early for the chair assisted dive so Briscoe strikes away back inside. Another Sterling distraction lets J hit a knee to the face, setting up a reverse DDT for two. Briscoe is busted open as J chokes away in the corner, followe..

They’re Next? WWE Reportedly Plans Callup For One Of These NXT Stars

That’s a big one. NXT is in a unique place as the television show is designed to be entertaining, but the wrestlers are there to develop well enough to be moved up to the main roster. It can be a career making moment for someone to get the call and it often comes after a huge match takes place. Now we might be ready to see what could be a huge promotion for someone. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: The Price Tag: Here Is What Vince McMahon Wants To Sell WWE Starting at Vengeance Day, Carmelo Hayes has targeted Bron Breakker and the NXT Title. While no match has been confirmed, Breakker has mentioned that it is the match people want to see. According to Wrestling Observer Live, WWE is planning to bring the loser of a Breakker vs. Hayes match up to the main roster. There is no word on if Trick Williams would be called up with Hayes. It’s a special one. Check out what might be coming up from NXT, and some of the best NXT appearances on the main roster: [This post contains video, click to play] ..

The Price Tag: Here Is What Vince McMahon Wants To Sell WWE

That’s a lot. The biggest wrestling story of the year thus far is Vince McMahon returning to WWE to steer the company towards a sale. That is the kind of move that can change the wrestling world forever as the new owners could completely reshape WWE into something very different. Now we know another detail that could change the entire sale process by eliminating some competitors. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: RUMOR: Ronda Rousey Up For Marvel Film Role According to Bloomberg, McMahon has targeted $9 billion as the selling price for WWE. This is reportedly 37% higher than the market value of $6.5 billion. The main potential buyer is said to be Endeavor Group Holdings, which owns the UFC, though they would likely need a third party to help them reach the purchase price. WWE has made no comments on potential buyers. WWE has done some money related things before. Check out some of their best: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post co..

Subtraction By Subtraction: Changes Coming To WWE Network/Peacock, Shows Leaving

It’s less wrestling. The WWE Network was an absolute game changer for wrestling fans. For the first time ever, fans were able to see almost every major WWE event in history for a relatively cheap price. It meant there was more content available to fans and more was added at a regular basis. However, that might not be the case anymore, at least for certain wrestling programming. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: You’re Up: Royal Rumble Described As “All Hands On Deck”, What That Means According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, a WWE source says that independent wrestling content will be discontinued on Peacock. This comes after various shows events are listed as leaving in a few days. Shows that seem to be leaving include ICW, Progress and Evolve, though it is not clear if all of them will be leaving permanently. A wXw event is set to premiere this coming Sunday. A WWE source indicated to Fightful that they'll be discontinuing indie content on the WWE Network. https://t.co/DwMvG4msM2 — Sean..

How Much? Sasha Banks’ New Japan Contract Reportedly Beats Chris Jericho’s

That’s a lot. One of the most up and down stories of this year has been that of Sasha Banks. After walking out on WWE in May, Banks has still yet to return and as of last week, was reportedly “done” with the company. Instead she will be heading to New Japan Pro Wrestling beginning in January, and now we know some more interesting details about the entire situation. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: WATCH: Major Update To Bobby Lashley’s Monday Night Raw Status According to Voices Of Wrestling, Banks will be appearing for New Japan on a per appearance basis, “at the highest price” that the company has ever paid anyone. This includes even more than Chris Jericho, who according to Wrestling Observer Radio, was making $100,000 per appearance, starting in 2018. Banks is set for multiple dates with New Japan, but she will be able to work on other projects, including AEW if she likes. There is no word on Banks working in any American promotions at the moment. New Japan is getting a major star. Check ..

Ring Of Honor Final Battle 2022 Results

Final Battle 2022 Date: December 10, 2022 Location: College Park Center, Arlington, Texas Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman It’s the third or so Ring Of Honor event of the year, assuming you don’t count a good chunk of the Rampages from earlier this year. The main event of the show is (probably) Chris Jericho defending the Ring Of Honor World Title against Claudio Castagnoli, with a bonus feature of FTR vs. the Briscoes in a dog collar match for FTR’s Tag Team Titles. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Mascara Dorada vs. Jeff Cobb Dorada (better known as Gran Metalik) gets nowhere off a shoulder so a springboard flip is enough to put Cobb on the floor. The dive is pulled out of the air though and Cobb posts him hard to take over. Back in and Cobb stands on his back for a surfing pose, followed by a heck of a shot to the face for two. Cobb misses a charge into the corner though and Dorada sends him outside again, this time for the big flip dive. Back in again and a rope walk sent..

AEW’s Andrade El Idolo Reportedly On The Outs With AAA Promotion

It isn’t going well. AEW has been around for a few years now and the company has done rather well in its limited existence. The company has a devoted following and new stars continue to join the ranks. However, there are always going to be some problems for the wrestlers either in front of or behind the camera. That is the case for a current AEW star, but it isn’t in AEW itself. Earlier this week, AEW’s Andrade El Idolo and Sammy Guevara got into a Twitter spat. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, El Idolo is currently having issues with the AAA promotion in Mexico. This stems from TripleMania XXIX in 2021, when Kenny Omega successfully defended the AAA Mega Championship against El Idolo. This was reportedly a change of plans over El Idolo’s asking price for the appearance. The relationship continued to deteriorate and El Idolo has only wrestled for AAA once since then, back in April. El Idolo is scheduled to face 10 on this week’s AEW Rampage, with his AEW career on the line. Opi..

Big Update On Bray Wyatt’s WWE Return, Negotiations Hit A Snag

That isn’t a no. There have been a lot of returns to the WWE as of late and that has made for some very interesting moments. Several former WWE stars have come back to the company after the massive releases of the last two years, but there are still some names out there to bring back. Some of them are more complicated than others though, and now we know some more details on perhaps the biggest name left. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, talks between WWE and Bray Wyatt are still alive, though they have stalled in recent weeks. Wyatt was released from WWE in 2021 and has not wrestled anywhere else since. This is reportedly due to Wyatt’s high asking price, as he was one of the top paid stars in WWE. Triple H was recently asked about Wyatt’s return but would not say yes or no. This was the same thing he said about Braun Strowman, who returned earlier this month. Opinion: I can’t imagine Wyatt staying away from WWE forever and that is a good thing. Wyatt has a lot of crea..

Ring Of Honor Death Before Dishonor 2022 Results

Death Before Dishonor 2022 Date: July 23, 2022 Location: Tsongas Center, Lowell, Massachusetts Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman Ring Of Honor is back and that should be a good thing. The company certainly has a history and it is nice to see that history continuing, but there has only been a limited build to the show on AEW TV. Then again, Ring Of Honor has always been about the in-ring work more than anything else and maybe that is enough to make the show work. Let’s get to it. Zero Hour: Colt Cabana vs. Anthony Henry JD Drake is here with Henry. Cabana takes him down by the arm to start but Henry spins out and strikes away in the corner. A sunset flip is blocked and Henry twists Cabana’s neck around to slow things down. Some more neck cranking sets up some kicks to the chest, which just fire Cabana up. Henry is fine with that and cuts him off with a piledriver for two. Back up and Cabana grabs a spinning belly to back suplex, setting up the Flip Flop and (slightly delay..

Worth The Wait: Update On Cesaro’s Wrestling Status

It might be a bit. Even though WWE and AEW get most of the attention, there are a lot of wrestling promotions throughout the world. Just because a wrestler is not appearing for one of those promotions does not mean that they have no value, as there are several wrestlers who can work for multiple promotions at once. That is the case with one prominent name, but at the moment he does not seem interested in appearing anywhere. Fightful Select has more information about former WWE star Cesaro’s status. According to the report, Cesaro has been contacted by several promotions about coming in he has not accepted any bookings. Cesaro’s asking price is said to be higher than most promotions can afford, which may be by design, as he may be waiting for the right offer to come along. Cesaro is currently a free agent and allowed to appear anywhere he wants at any time. Opinion: If Cesaro is happy and able to stay at home without a need to work, good for him. There is no requirement for him to get..

DiBiase Family Facing Civil Lawsuit Over Huge Embezzlement Scheme

I guess that’s the price. Wrestlers are larger than life characters who get to appear on television and try to convince fans that everything they are seeing is real. That can often cause the lines between reality and fantasy to blur, but these same wrestlers have problems that they have to deal with just like regular people. That is the case again, as a wrestling family is having to face some legal issues. Back in 2020, Brett DiBiase, the son of WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase, pleaded guilty to taking part in the largest embezzlement scheme in the history of Mississippi. Ted’s Heart of David Ministries is alleged to have received $2.1 million from the state as part of the scheme, though Ted did not face any criminal charges. According to 411mania.com, the state of Mississippi has filed a civil lawsuit against 38 people, including the DiBiase family, alleged to have been part of the scheme or received some of the funds. The DiBiase family has not commented on the lawsuit. You can see th..

LOOK: Former WWE Star Appears On The Price Is Right, Looks A Bit Different

It might be more noteworthy. There have been all kinds of wrestlers throughout WWE’s history, some of whom have made a bigger impact than others. Some wrestlers have been major stars and others have been smaller players, while most are in the middle, as WWE has tried to do something with them and never gotten very far. One of those cases made a TV appearance this week, albeit in a way that had nothing to do with wrestling. Former WWE star Ezekiel Jackson made an appearance on the Price Is Right this week. Jackson, appearing under his real name of Rycklon Stephens, was on the show with his family and made it to the Showcase Showdown. A former Intercontinental and ECW Champion, Stephens has not wrestled since 2015 at a show in German and now works as a fitness instructor. Hey look who it is! Ezekiel Jackson on 'The Price is Right' this week. He looks great! pic.twitter.com/dA4KNphPwG — Humble Wrestling (@WrestlingHumble) April 20, 2022 Opinion: This is the kind of thing t..

Possible Reason Bray Wyatt Has Not Come To AEW

There’s a reason for that. AEW has changed the way the wrestling world works and a lot of that is due to the company allowing several new wrestlers a chance to appear on the big stage. Some of them might have been around before but now they have a chance to work somewhere other than WWE. Not every former WWE star comes to AEW though and now we know why that is the case with one of them. During a discussion on Twitter, Dave Meltzer was asked about WWE stars coming to AEW and vice versa. A fan brought up Bray Wyatt, but Meltzer said that Wyatt’s asking price was very high. There is no word on whether or not Wyatt and AEW will come to terms at some point in the future. Wyatt left WWE last July and has yet to wrestle again since. He has been working on a film project during his time away from the ring. I know it's my site, but WWE would be interested in almost any top AEW act right now. Also, AEW would be interested in virtually any WWE top act right now. https://t.co/LMVdSEkpb7 — ..

REVIEW: Ring Of Honor Best In The World 2019: This Was The Best?

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Best In The World 2019 Date: June 29, 2019 Location: UMBC Events Center, Baltimore, Maryland Commentators: Ian Riccaboni, Caprice Coleman, Colt Cabana It’s another pay per view and in this case, the show isn’t looking half bad. They’ve managed to build things up better than usual with television and I’ll take that over what they tend to put together. The main event is Matt Taven defending the World Title against Jeff Cobb because for some reason we deserve Taven as champion around here. Let’s get to it. Kickoff S..

REVIEW: Ring Of Honor Supercard Of Honor 2022: Believe The Hype

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Supercard Of Honor XV Date: April 1, 2022 Location: Curtis Culwell Center, Garland, Texas Commentators: Caprice Coleman, Ian Riccaboni Now this is a big one as we have the first new Ring of Honor show in about three and a half months. The catch this time though is that the company has been purchased by AEW President Tony Khan, which means there is likely to be a bigger AEW presence on this show. Most of the card hasn’t been announced, but we are getting the Briscoes vs. FTR, which should be pretty good. Let’s get ..

WRESTLING RUMORS: More On Tony Khan Purchasing Ring Of Honor, Possible Price

That’s a lot. There are several wrestling promotions around the world but only a few are ever able to make it that high up the ladder. While you might hear about a promotion here or there, it is rare for a company to make it to one of the top levels in wrestling. One such wrestling promotion went into hiatus last last year but now has a new owner. We may have found out something new about the deal. This week’s edition of AEW Dynamite opened with AEW President Tony Khan announcing that he has purchased Ring of Honor Wrestling. According to Cassidy Haynes of Bodyslam.net, the cost for the Ring of Honor purchase could have been in the $30-$40 million range. However, this was not able to be confirmed and it is seen as speculation. In addition, Ring of Honor is said to most likely be used as a developmental territory, with AEW stars making appearances. Opinion: This is one of those situations where we will probably never know the exactly number that Khan gave for the company but you can i..
