It’s a gig. There are various similarities between wrestling and acting, as both involve putting on a performance. While wrestlers are often described as acting, it isn’t quite the same thing as having a director yell ACTION and performing your scene. That being said, there are enough similarities that wrestlers often try to get in on acting, which is the case again with a WWE star. According to Deadline.com, WWE star Liv Morgan is expected to make her film debut in the upcoming comedic thriller The Kill Room, staring Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman. The film focuses on a money laundering scheme involving art, with Morgan playing “an art purist who bemoans the vapidness of art dealers.” There is no word on what the film will premiere or how big of a part Morgan will have. There’s your next one. With WrestleMania 38 less than a month away, it is time to start getting ready for the biggest show of the year. That means WWE needs to set up the card in the way that draws in the most eyes, which includes coming up with some matches that might draw in a crowd that might not usually watch. WWE is trying just that with a special celebrity match. This week on SmackDown, actor Johnny Knoxville interrupted Sami Zayn’s Intercontinental Title match against Ricochet, costing Zayn the title. As a result, Zayn challenged Knoxville to a match at WrestleMania 38, which Knoxville accepted later in the night. Knoxville has been tormenting Zayn for most of the year, including appearing in the Royal Rumble, where Zayn eliminated him. Zayn also crashed the premiere of Knoxville’s film Jackass Forever, with Knoxville coming back to SmackDown to retaliate. It’s another way to see them. There is a lot of programming in WWE and some of it can be a little bit different than others. While you get to see a lot of traditional in-ring action, you can also see some material that focuses on the behind the scenes aspects of the wrestlers’ lives. That can make for some interesting television time and now we will be seeing a fresh take on the idea. WWE broadcaster Corey Graves and Monday Night Raw’s Carmella have announced that they will be starring in an upcoming reality web series called Corey And Carmella. The series will premiere on WWE’s YouTube channel on February 28 and there is no word on how many episodes will be produced. Carmella and Graves have been dating for over three years and announced their engagement in October 2021. WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus has announced that she will be a guest judge on the upcoming reboot of Canada’s Got Talent. The series will premiere in early 2022 after being off the air since 2012. Stratus will be one of the four judges, along with Howie Mandel, Kardinal Offishall and Lilly Singh. Mark your calendars. We are closing in on the end of the year and there is a lot left on the WWE schedule. The company still has monthly pay per views and a trip to Saudi Arabia to take care of, which means things are going to get more interesting pretty quickly. It turns out that they are going to have some special shows along the way and now we know when some of them will be taking place. Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast has revealed the dates of some upcoming WWE special events. The 2021 WWE Draft will be held on the October 1 SmackDown and the October 4 Monday Night Raw. When worlds collide. The wrestling world has changed quite a bit thanks to the rise of AEW. The new promotion has shaken up the industry by adding a new place for all kinds of wrestlers to showcase themselves. That has not been the case for a very long time now and several wrestlers have already jumped over to the new place. A wrestler from both companies came together for a pretty unique moment. WWE’s John Cena and AEW’s Miro were both in attendance for the premiere of The Suicide Squad. Cena, a co-star of the movie, appeared in the full costume of his Peacekeeper character, hugged Miro and introduced him to his wife. That’s a new one. One of the biggest WWE stories of the year has been the amount of changes made to the roster. The company has moved all kinds of people in and out of the roster, making it look a good bit different than it did at the start of the year.
