Lana Explains Why Vince McMahon Dropped Rusev Day Storyline

At least he had a reason. The biggest wrestling story of the year has been the departure of Vince McMahon from WWE. After nearly four decades of McMahon in charge of the company, he has finally stepped down and handed the reins off to someone else. That has caused quite a few changes and now we have a better idea about one of McMahon’s less well received decisions. CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana in WWE, recently appeared on In The Kliq to talk about some of her time in WWE. Perry mentioned the Rusev Day story, which took place in 2017-18 and saw Rusev become one of the more popular stars in WWE, though he never officially turned good. According to Perry, McMahon never allowed the full turn because he saw Rusev as his “Bulgarian Brute 300 pound crazy villain” and did not want to change his vision. Former WWE superstar CJ Perry, known as Lana in WWE, was recently interviewed by In The Kliq Podcast to promote her upcoming role on VH1’s “The Surreal Life.” She discussed a number of topics, including a return to professional wrestling. Below are some highlights from the interview: Lana On returning to professional wrestling: “I’m open to everything in life. If I put my dreams in a box, I wouldn’t be where I am today. So, I mean, Triple H, he’s a genius. Stephanie’s a genius. I got hired by Triple H. He paired me with Miro and helped really cultivate that, in 2014, that story and that gimmick and those characters. He really helped me develop the Ravishing Russian, so I think he has an incredible creative mind. I think he is an incredible storyteller and entertaining. Former And Current WWE Names Backstage At This Week’s AEW Dynamite

I know you! WWE and AEW are the two most popular and successful wrestling promotions in the United States and nothing else is really in the same ballpark at the moment. The company features some of the biggest names in wrestling, but there are several who are not working for either company right now. Some of those names were backstage at AEW this week, along with a current WWE star. According to Fightful Select, several former WWE names, plus a current WWE star, were backstage at this week’s AEW Dynamite. Dolph Ziggler was backstage visiting friends, as well as his brother Ryan Nemeth. In addition, CJ Perry (formerly known as Lana) was backstage with her husband Miro, along with Renee Paquette (formerly known as Renee Young), with her husband Jon Moxley. None of the names were mentioned on the broadcast and there is nothing to suggest that any are coming to AEW. Call it a reunion? There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and it can be difficult for all of them to find a place to go. While WWE and AEW are often the goals for several wrestlers, there is not room for all of them there. That is where the independent promotions come in though and that is the case again, with several former WWE stars finding a new home. The new Wrestling Entertainment Series promotion has announced its debut card, which will take place on June 4 in at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham, England. The show will feature four title matches and several former names from WWE. Wrestling Entertainment Series is owned by former Raw Tag Team Champions the Authors of Pain, who will be wrestling on the show under the name Legion Of Pain. New York school teacher Victor Perry runs a wrestling club with his students where wrestling is used to teach life lessons. Lana Set For A Unique Non-Wrestling Role

That’s a new one. One of the biggest WWE stories of the year has been the amount of changes made to the roster. The company has moved all kinds of people in and out of the roster, making it look a good bit different than it did at the start of the year. Some of those wrestlers have since moved on to other promotions, but now one is moving on to something entirely different. According to Deadline.com, CJ Perry, formerly known as Lana in WWE, will be a part of the cast for a reboot of the Surreal Life on VH1. The show will see Perry and the rest of the cast living together in a mansion and completing tasks. The rest of the cast will include Dennis Rodman, August Alsina, Stormy Daniels, Tamar Braxton, Frankie Muniz, Kim Coles and Manny Mua. There is no word on when the show will premiere. Rusev is apparently back in the match with the Undertaker Last week, Rusev was announced as being in a Casket Match against the Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble event on April 27th. He did an interview with TMZ Sports saying he would bury the Undertaker and said the Undertaker was past his prime unlike Rusev. Then WWE announced he was taken out of the match and replaced by Chris Jericho because Rusev's wife Lana did not want him in a match with that stipulation.
