January 31, 2023

Monday Night Raw Date: January 30, 2023 Location: BOK Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick It’s the first show after the Royal Rumble and that means we are going to be seeing a lot of build towards Wrestlemania. Cody Rhodes and Rhea Ripley are the Royal Rumble winners and are on their way to Los Angeles, but the Sami Zayn situation is going to have to be resolved at some point. Let’s get to it. We open with a look at Cody Rhodes returning and winning the Royal Rumble on Saturday. Here is Cody Rhodes to get things going. Cody soaks in the cheers and asks what we want to talk about. Rhodes has been doing this for over fifteen years and he started in Ohio Valley Wrestling. There is a sign on their building that says “tomorrow’s superstars today”. If he could talk to his 19 year old self, he would tell him that it would ..

Monday Night Raw Results – October 17, 2022

October 18, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: October 17, 2022 Location: Paycom Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Corey Graves, Kevin Patrick We’re rapidly approaching Crown Jewel and WWE has the main event covered with Logan Paul challenging Roman Reigns. That leaves some spots open for the rest of the card, some of which needs to be filled in soon. Odds are we’ll get some of that soon and you can probably guess some of the matches from here. Let’s get to it. We open with Bobby Lashley in the ring mid-promo, where he calls out Brock Lesnar. Cue Lesnar and they get in a fight before Lesnar can even make it to the ring, with Lashley getting posted on the floor. Lashley slips out of another posting and sends Lesnar into it instead. A spear through the barricade draws out wrestlers and officials to break it up but Lashley gets away. This time it’s Lesnar going through the announcers’ table (on the second attempt) to leave him laying. OC vs. Alpha Academy AJ Styles is here with the OC. Anderson ta..

WWE NIL Signee Officially Charged With Sexual Battery, Warrant Issued For His Arrest

August 5, 2022

That’s a serious situation. Back in 2021, WWE announced the Next In Line program, which was designed to find non-wrestling athletes and bring them into the WWE system, with the chance of eventually becoming WWE stars. The program has brought in several prospects, but now one of them is facing some very serious legal issues that could change his career path in a huge way. According to the Oklahoman, WWE NIL signee and former Oklahoma State University wrestler AJ Ferrari is facing a charge of felony sexual battery with a warrant being issued for his arrest. Ferrari was accused of holding a woman down in Stillwater, Oklahoma on July 2 and performing unwanted sexual acts on her. The woman filed an emergency protective order against Ferrari three days later. WWE has not commented on the situation or on Ferrari’s future with the NIL program. Opinion: That is a very serious charge and if the accusations against him are true, I cannot imagine he is going to have much of a future with WWE. Fe..

WWE NIL Signee Accused Of Sexual Assault

July 14, 2022

That’s not good. WWE has been trying to bring in a variety of new stars to bolster its roster, both for the present and the future. A lot of this has been through the Next In Line (NIL) program, as WWE has been able to sign college athletes to name, image and likeness deals. Those names have not appeared on WWE programming to date, though one of them seems less likely to appear ever. Accord to the O’Colly (Oklahoma State University’s student newspaper), WWE NIL signee AJ Ferrari has been removed from the Oklahoma State wrestling team amid an investigation of sexual assault. Ferrari, who has currently not been charged with any crime, was part of the initial NIL class in 2021 and has not wrestled for WWE. The company has not responded to the investigation. Opinion: That is a very serious allegation and it would not surprise me at all to see Ferrari dropped by WWE as a result. Such a change might come immediately or after the investigation is over, but either way, Ferrari is going to be..

January 18, 2022

Monday Night Raw Date: January 17, 2022 Location: BOK Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves, Byron Saxton We are less than two weeks away from the Royal Rumble and that means it is time for the card to be finalized. Last week saw Doudrop become the #1 contender for the Raw Women’s Title in what should at least be a fresh match. Other than that, we could use some more names being added to the namesake matches. Let’s get to it. Here is Becky Lynch to get things going. She knows the Royal Rumble is coming up and it is time for some big names to come back for the Big Time. People like Lita, Mickie James and the Bella Twins are here, but for now, it is time to deal with Doudrop. Last week, Becky got Doudrop her title shot, which is what she does. That’s the only way Doudrop could get her shot, but here is Doudrop to say she got everything on her own. Becky says follow her lead and you could win tonight. Cue Bianca Belair doing her dance and saying she’s in the Ru..

Jim Ross Is Getting Into The Cannabis Business

October 29, 2021

I can’t say I saw that one coming. There are all kinds of people in the wrestling industry but most of them have one thing in common: they all need to find something to do once they get out of the wrestling industry. Some of them manage to do something while they are still involved with wrestling, and that seems to be the case again. This time though, it is quite the odd combination. During the latest edition of his Grilling JR podcast, AEW broadcaster Jim Ross revealed that he is opening a cannabis farm in Oklahoma. Ross is going into business with his daughter, son-in-law and another man, with Ross having purchased the land for the farm. The other three will be handling the day to day operations of the farm, which will be called “Black Hat Farms”. That’s another thing to add to his list. Check out some of Ross’ greatest moments: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: Sure why not...

September 6, 2021

Main Event Date: September 2, 2021 Location: Paycom Center, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Kevin Patrick, Byron Saxton We’re out of the Summerslam fallout week and that means we are ready to get started on the road towards Extreme Rules. Some of the build began this week on Raw and odds are we’ll be seeing a lot more of that this week. As for the Main Event stuff, it’s probably time for more of the usual. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Jeff Hardy vs. Cedric Alexander They trade spinning of their jackets to start until Alexander drives him into the corner and shouts about what Jeff has. A headlock has Hardy in more trouble but he sends Alexander face first into all four buckles. An ax handle sets up a failed Twist of Fate attempt and Alexander heads outside. Hardy misses a dive and bangs up his knee so Alexander can choke away back inside. Alexander takes him into the corner but Hardy headscissors his way to freedom. They slug it out until Hardy atomic drops him to set up..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – August 30, 2021

August 31, 2021

Monday Night Raw Date: August 30, 2021 Location: Chesapeake Energy Arena, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Commentators: Jimmy Smith, Byron Saxton, Corey Graves We are on the way to Extreme Rules and that means we need some things to set up for the show. That could take some time, as Raw has a tendency to not exactly rush things. There isn’t much going on with this show though, as we need something other than RKBro and waiting around for Goldberg to show up for the Bobby Lashley rematch. Let’s get to it. Here is Damian Priest to get things going. He welcomes us to the show and talks about how he is going to show the title the respect it deserves. We hear about some famous US Champions, including Rey Mysterio, Jeff Hardy and John Cena, because the title’s history is about six years old. That’s unlike WWE Champion Bobby Lashley, who ran away from a challenge last week. Therefore, let’s have an open challenge. US Title: Damian Priest vs. Sheamus Sheamus is challenging but hang on because he nee..

August 14, 2021

Smackdown Date: August 13, 2021 Location: BOK Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma Commentators: Michael Cole, Pat McAfee We have two shows to go before Summerslam and John Cena is actually on TV this week. For some reason he has been around for the last few weeks working dark matches but hasn’t shown up on the actual shows. He’s here tonight to face Roman Reigns though and that needs to be great. Let’s get to it. Here is John Cena to get things going. After we get a quick look at how Cena vs. Roman Reigns was set up, Cena says that since school is back in session, it is time to give Roman his report card. Reigns gets a D, because he is a D-head, a D-bag and a D-isappointment. At Summerslam Reigns is getting an F, but for now though, it is time to have a pop quiz. The fans are asked if they think Reigns will beat him up at Summerslam and they don’t quite buy it. Cena admits that he will take a beating at Summerslam but he’s also beating Reigns. AEW Dark Results – September 8, 2020

September 9, 2020

If you would like to see this show in full, you can watch it right here for free: Dark Date: September 8, 2020 Location: Daily’s Place, Jacksonville, Florida Commentators: Excalibur, Taz For reasons I don’t quite fathom, this is the third episode of Dark in eight days because we needed a special one before All Out and then the regular shows as well. At least tonight’s show along with Friday’s were a little shorter than usual, but we’ve got squashification waiting for us so let’s get to it. Taz and Excalibur give us the rapid fire intro. Sean Legacy vs. Will Hobbs Hobbs starts fast with a running shoulder before lifting Legacy up by the wrist for some arm cranking. Legacy’s crossbody is knocked out of the air with ease and a release gordbuster knocks him silly again. An Oklahoma Stampede finishes Legacy at 2:59. Result: Will Hobbs b. Wrestling Could Have Another Location Option Soon

May 20, 2020

A new location emerges. There are more changes taking place in the world every day than can be listed. With so many things going on, it can be hard to keep track of what is going on from day to day. This includes several changes in the wrestling world as well, which can cause some issues for the wrestling companies as well. Now though, they might be able to find a new place to go. One of the biggest problems that wrestling companies have been going through is finding a place to run events. While Florida has been the saving grace for a lot of promotions, that might not be the most logical place for everyone. What about a promotion based out west who can’t get that far? Other areas are starting to open up such as Oklahoma, but there is another big place being added to list. On Tuesday, California Governor Gavin Newsome announced plans to allow professional sports to begin taking place in the state in the first week of June. The events would have to take place without spectators, as is ..

Jim Ross Moving To Make AEW Dynamite Return

May 2, 2020

That’s some serious dedication. AEW has not been around that long and need all of the big helps that they can get. Anything that they can do to get fans’ attention, while still being positive of course, is a good thing and that is what they had with some of their earlier hires. The spread of the Coronavirus kept one of those hires away from the company, though now things might be changing. Aside from Chris Jericho, there is no bigger name in AEW than Jim Ross. While he is on the lower side of his career after all these years, Ross is still someone the fans are familiar with and he offers a certain feeling of nostalgia for a lot of fans. At the same time though, Ross is still a solid lead commentator today and a pretty good one at that. Now though, you are going to get to hear him more often. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Ross is moving to Jacksonville until at least May 27 for the sake of avoiding having to fly from his home in Oklahoma to Jacksonville for AEW telev..

Wrestling Might Be Getting A New Home State

May 1, 2020

It could be a new home. Wrestling is in a weird situation at the moment as it can run events but can’t have any fans in attendance. That makes for some very strange dynamics on the shows but a few companies are making it work anyway. Some of these events may not be the most successful looking, but they are better than nothing. Part of the problem is finding a place to run them, but another option might be opening up. In April, the Governor of Florida designated WWE an essential business in the state, citing its connection to the entertainment industry. The designation was looked at with some skepticism from outsiders but WWE certainly didn’t seem to mind. WWE now has a permanent home to run their evens from with the WWE Performance Center, but what about other companies? Another state seems interested in helping them out. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt wants to bring wrestling, boxing and mixed martial arts to the state in an effort to p..

Jim Ross Reveals That He Is In Talks With AEW

March 22, 2019

You had to figure that this was coming eventually. It had been previously reported that Jim Ross will not be re-signing with WWE when his contract expires on March 29. But what will he be up to after that? He appeared on Outside The Lines recently to discuss this topic. It was there that he said that he has been in talks with AEW about joining their brand: “I don’t know, we’re talking. I just haven’t signed anything yet. My people and their people are doing their thing. The only agent I grew up knowing was a State Farm agent in Oklahoma, I got a real agent now, man. So, they’re working on it. I’d like to get into some voice-over work, I’d like to do some… I wouldn’t mind having a radio gig doing college football.” "The only agent I grew up knowing was a State Farm agent in Oklahoma.
