Face time! One of the best things about Impact Wrestling in 2020 was the mystery of Slammiversary. The company made it very clear that some of the recently released WWE stars would be heading to the promotion but the question was which ones would be there. It made for some great drama and then the payoff wound up working rather well. It went so well that they might as well try it again. It worked before. Major Update Regarding Chris Jericho’s Future With New Japan

At New Japan Pro Wrestling’s ‘Dominion” event this weekend, Chris Jericho defeated Tetsuya Naito to become the IWGP Intercontinental Champion. It was a surprise for a lot of wrestling fans because most weren’t expecting Jericho to wrestle for the company long-term. As a result, his title win has made his future in wrestling very unpredictable. According to the Wrestling Observer, Y2J winning the IWPG IC Title means he’s staying with the promotion and there are multiple matches coming. Dave Meltzer is saying that a rematch between Jericho and Naito seems to be coming down the line. It may happen inside the Tokyo Dome, but the next match for Chris Jericho seems to be against Evil. Five Major Title Changes Take Place at NJPW Dominion

You may have missed it this morning, but New Japan Pro Wrestling ‘s Dominion event took place this morning inside the Osaka-jo Hall. The card features the next installment of the Kenny Omega vs. Kazuchika Okada saga over the IWPG Heavyweight Title. Chris Jericho challenged Tetsuya Naito for the IWGP Intercontinental Championship and a lot more. 2018 Dominion saw five major titles changes during the event. The first being Michael Elgin winning the NEVER Openweight Championship in a Triple Threat Match defeating Hirooki Goto and Taichi. The Young Bucks also won the IWGP Tag Team Titles from the Los Ingobernables de Japan after recently entering New Japan’s heavyweight division. Tetsuya Naito Explains Why He Does Not Wear The IWGP Intercontinental Title, And Talks His Issues With Chris Jericho

Naito minces no words about his dislike for Chris Jericho. The tranquilo Tetsuya Naito keeps his cool throughout the toughest of situations but what took place during night two of NJPW's 'Wrestling Dontaku' event was the straw that broke that camels back. As Naito exited the ring after receiving admiration from the Fukuoka faithful in attendance he was attacked by a "fan" who was wearing a 'Bushi' mask. That "fan" turned out to be former nine-time WWE Intercontinental Champion Chris Jericho who was last seen in NJPW when he attacked Naito from behind at 'New Years Dash' the day after Wrestle Kingdom 12. Prior to their first encounter Naito voiced his opinion on Chris Jericho coming into the company and stealing spotlight away from his main event match against Kazuchika Okada at Wrestle Kingdom. Tetsuya Naito Is The New IWGP Intercontinental Champion

Los Ingobernables de Japon have a new champion among them. On Sunday, New Japan Wrestling held the Hi No Kuni event in Kumamoto, Japan which featured some of the promotion's biggest names and two championship matches. Los Ingobernables de Japon members Evil and Sanada defended their IWGP Heavyweight Tag Team Championship and then in the main event Tetsuya Naito defeated Minoru Suzuki to capture the IWGP Intercontinental Championship giving the stable three current champions among their ranks. Los Ingobernables de Japon will soon be touring North America as part of the Ring of Honor War of the Worlds tour where the promotion will visit four cities in the United States and Canada. This reign is the 2nd time Naito has captured the Intercontinental Championship. He lost the championship last June to Hiroshi Tanahashi after a 259 day reign. Tetsuya Naito and his stable are coming to North America Ring of Honor will be hosting a War of the Worlds Tour which will be four nights in four North American cities. The tour will take place between May 9th to May 13th and will include more wrestlers from New Japan Pro Wrestling and Ring of Honor.
