WrestleMania Backlash 2022 Preview, Predictions And Thoughts

Round two. Wrestlemania has come and gone and now it is time for…another show with Wrestlemania in the title. Just like last year, WWE has flat out said that this is going to be the Wrestlemania fallout show, even if some of the matches have little to do with what went down in Texas. It also doesn’t help that they have changed the main event from something somewhat interesting to something almost entirely uninteresting, but maybe they can pull something out here. Let’s get to it. Bobby Lashley vs. Omos This is a Wrestlemania rematch (smart move) and the wild card here is MVP. Lashley beat Omos back at Wrestlemania but MVP was not involved, which is what caused MVP to turn on Lashley and join Omos. Then Lashley proceeded to beat Omos clean in arm wrestling as I try to figure out what in the world this story is supposed to be going. It’s going to a rematch here and there should be an obvious result. In theory, this should be Omos’ big singles win and that would make the most sense. Omo..

WWE Title Match Officially Seth For Extreme Rules

We have the other main event. We are less than three weeks away from WWE Extreme Rules, which is in kind of a weird place on the WWE calendar. The show is the first pay per view after Summerslam so it is both the follow up as well as the start of something new. The champions are going to come in hot and will need quality challengers. Now we know who one of those challengers will be. Last week on Monday Night Raw, RKBro successfully defended the Raw Tag Team Titles against Bobby Lashley and MVP. After the match, Randy Orton took Lashley out with an RKO. This week, Lashley came out to interrupt Orton, saying he wanted a match between the two of them. Orton agreed, as long as the WWE Title was on the line. MVP agreed to the match for Lashley, with the match being set for Extreme Rules. This should be a good one. WATCH: Special Moment At WWE Live Event (A Towel Is Involved)

Sometimes it takes….a towel? Stables are a really easy concept in the WWE because they can accomplish a lot without really needing much effort. Put three or more wrestlers together with some sort of shared trait and everything can work out rather well. That has been the case for a long time, and this weekend saw a fairly special moment between a former team. On Sunday night, WWE ran a live event in Columbia, South Carolina. One of the matches on the card saw New Day defeat Bobby Lashley and MVP. Either during or after the match, former New Day member Big E. came to ringside in a towel to distract Lashley, allowing New Day to take Lashley out. Big E. then left, holding the towel together on his way out. In a related note, Big E. is currently Mr. Money in the Bank and could cash in his briefcase on Lashley. This was an eventful one. Monday Night Raw Date: July 12, 2021 Location: Yuengling Center, Tampa, Florida Commentators: Byron Saxton, Jimmy Smith, Corey Graves We are finally, and I do mean finally, coming to the end of the Thunderdome and that means a taped go home show for Money in the Bank.
