I love the fact that they are bringing back this classic event, and, including both men and w..

Gotcha: Surprise Heel Turn Takes Place At AEW Revolution

To the other side. While there are all kinds of wrestlers on any given roster, one of the most important distinctions between them is whether they fight for good or bad. This has been the reality in wrestling for decades and continues to be to this day. It makes a difference when someone changes from one side to the other and now it has happened again in a rather violent way. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Two Sports: Current WWE Star Hopes To Compete In Boxing Match This weekend at AEW Revolution, Jamie Hayter successfully defended the Women’s Title against Saraya and Ruby Soho. Following the match, Soho attacked Hayter and Britt Baker, aligning herself with Saraya and Toni Storm. This comes after weeks of the two groups feuding, with Soho sitting on the sidelines. One More: Sami Zayn Getting Another Title Shot Against Roman Reigns

Run it back. Every so often, you will run across a match that is built almost solely on emotion. This marks a rare live event appearance for Reigns, who wrestles on a relaxed schedule. JUST ANNOUNCED! Canada’s own @SamiZayn takes on @WWERomanReig..

Hand Them Over: Multiple New Champions Crowned At NXT Vengeance Day

It was a busy night. Title changes are one of the most important things that you can see at a wrestling event. A new champion being crowned marks a changing of the guard, as you have someone else becoming one of the to stars in a promotion. It can mean even more if multiple titles change hands in a single night, which was the case this weekend in the span of a few hours. There were two title changes over the weekend at NXT Vengeance Day. First up, Fallon Henley and Kiana James defeated Kayden Carter and Katana Chance to become the new NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions. The win marks the first title changes for Henley and James and also ends the record setting reign for Chance and Carter at 186 days. Later, Gallus defeated Pretty Deadly, Chase U and reigning champions the New Day to win the NXT Tag Team Titles for the first time. North American Champion Wes Lee, Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez and NXT Champion Bron Breakker all retained their titles. It was a busy night. Check out the tit..

Switch: Two AEW Stars Turn Heel On Dynamite

They’re on the other team. There are all kinds of wrestlers on the AEW roster and sometimes it can be difficult to keep track of everyone. Occasionally a wrestler needs to do something to mix it up a little bit, some of which involves changing from one side to another. That was the case this week, but in this case it was a pair of wrestlers instead of just one. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Well Deserved: The Wrestling World Pays Tribute To Jay Briscoe This week on AEW Dynamite, Toni Storm defeated Willow Nightingale, partially due to a distraction by Saraya. After the match, Storm and Saraya attacked Nightingale, turning heel in the process. Nightingale’s occasional partner Ruby Soho ran in for the save. The turn marks the first time that either Saraya or Storm have been a villain during their time in AEW. There are some interesting stars in this. Out Of Two, One? WWE Teases Separating Some United Titles

Splitsville? Titles are one of the most important concepts in all of wrestling as they tell fans a lot about what they are seeing. A wrestling holding a title means that they are one of the best but also one of the most important stars on the roster. It can mean a lot for someone to win a championship, and this time it could be a little more complicated than it has been in the past. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Good News: Positive Update On Seth Rollins’ Health Status The main event of this week’s Monday Night Raw saw the Judgment Day win a Tag Team Turmoil match for a future Tag Team Title shot. However, commentary made it clear that the match was ONLY for the Raw Tag Team Titles rather than both Raw and SmackDown. This comes after the titles were unified with the SmackDown Tag Team Titles and marks the first suggestion that the titles could be slit. There is no word on if the titles will be split again or if this was a slip of the tongue. They have their work cut out for them. Check out..

Vince McMahon Reportedly Planning WWE Comeback

He might not be done? This has been one of the busiest wrestling years in history with several game changing stories taking place. The biggest of them all has been Vince McMahon’s retirement from WWE. For the first time in nearly forty years, a new regime is in charge of WWE and that is leading to even more changes. However, we might not entirely be done with the old regime. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: Double Shot: WWE Files Trademarks For Return Of Classic Show (Kind Of) According to a new report from the Wall Street Journal, McMahon is considering a comeback to WWE. There is no word on when McMahon might attempt to return to WWE. WWE has had its share of comebacks. Check out some of the better ones..

Double Shot: WWE Files Trademarks For Return Of Classic Show (Kind Of)

Bring them back? WWE runs all kinds of special events in any given year, with the biggest being described as Premium Live Events. The company has several shows that are presented every single year, but you never know when something new is going to be added to the rotation. Now it seems that WWE might be planning to bring back a classic, but with something extra added on. IN CASE YOU MISSED IT: LOOK: WWE Star Changes Up Her Longtime Unique Appearance According to PWInsider.com, WWE has filed a trademark for “WWE King And Queen Of The Ring”. There is no word on any details about WWE running either tournament, including when they might happen. WWE has done some tournaments before. Check out a bit o..

Title Change Takes Place In Monday Night Raw Main Event

History has been made! There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world today and some of them have been around for a very long time. However, there are also some that do not have the same kind of history as they have not had the same length of time to be built up. Those titles have to be built up over the years and now one of them is gaining another rung in its history. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles changed hands this week on Monday Night Raw, with Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeating Damage Ctrl’s Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai to win the titles when Bliss pinned Sky with Twisted Bliss. The win marks Bliss and Asuka’s first reign as champions and their third individual title reign each. Damage Ctrl’s loss ended their reign at 49 days after they won the titles on the September 12 Monday Night Raw. Opinion: This is the kind of title change that the championships need. If nothing else, there are teams fighting each other to win the titles, which is one of the best ways to make a title feel impor..

AEW Stable Turns On Its Employer In Surprise Twist

They’re already done. AEW has quite a few stars on its roster and as a result, several of them have been grouped together into various stables. There have been all kinds throughout the company’s history and many have gone in different directions. It means something when one of them does something big and that certainly took place this week as well. This week on AEW Dynamite, Maxwell Jacob Friedman told the Firm to stay away from Jon Moxley before Full Gear. Following Moxley’s defeat of Penta El Cero Miedo, the Firm attacked Moxley, leading to Friedman coming to the ring and firing them as his stable on retainer. The Firm then beat Friedman up and put him through a table to end the show. It is not clear if this marks a full babyface turn for Friedman. Opinion: That was certainly a way to go for the story and I’m still not sure how it is going to wind up going. Friedman continues to be one of the most interesting people in all of wrestling and I want to see what he is going to be doing..

WATCH: Former WWE And AEW Star Makes Surprise Debut

He found a new home. The rise of AEW has done a lot for the wrestling world, but it has also done something very important for the fans. By offering wrestlers a new place to go, WWE is no longer the only major game in town. Even then though, there are other promotions with very lucrative broadcasting deals of their own. Now a former WWE and AEW star is heading to one of them. Impact Wrestling held its annual Victory Road event this week. During the show, former AEW and WWE star Bobby Fish appeared and, after referencing his issues with CM Punk, said he wanted a fight. Raj Singh and Mahabali Shera interrupted and were beaten up by Fish. This marks Fish’s debut with Impact Wrestling, following his AEW contract expiring and making him a free agent. It was quite the debut. Check out Fish in his new home: [This post contains video, click to play] [This post contains video, click to play] Opinion: It is always nice to see someone like Fish pop up elsewhere. Fish is a very talented wrest..

Roman Reigns Facing Former World Champion For The First Time In Over Six Years

They are in for a treat. Roman Reigns has dominated the last two years in WWE and there is nothing to suggest that anything will be changing in the near future. Reigns has run through almost everyone there is to face and that leaves him lacking in serious competition. There are still some big names left out there though and WWE may be moving him in the direction of one of them. The Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada is advertising an Undisputed WWE Universal Title match between Reigns and AJ Styles at the September 24 Saturday Night’s Main Event live event. The match marks the first time Reigns and Styles have faced off in a singles match since their feud over the WWE Title in 2016. There is nothing to suggest that a televised match or feud between the two is coming anytime soon. Opinion: I would certainly be down for a match between these two, as Styles is an all time great and one of the most successful stars in WWE today. He would make a credible threat to Rei..

Take Two: Kane Earns Another Major Political Victory

He’ll have another. Wrestlers often have to rely on their talking abilities to make the fans care about what they are doing. If a wrestler is good enough with a microphone, it can open quite a few doors for their careers. This is the case for other industries outside of wrestling, and that was the case again for another legend who achieved quite the success outside of the ring. WWE Hall Of Famer Glenn Jacobs, better known as Kane, has announced that he has been re-elected as Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee on Thursday. This marks Jacobs’ second term in office with another four year term. Jacobs has still made occasional wrestling appearances while in office, most recently at Summerslam. He also wrestled in Saudi Arabia at Crown Jewel 2018. THANK YOU Knox County for electing me to serve a second term as your mayor. I am so grateful for the support you have shown me and my family throughout my campaign for re-election, and will continue to do all I can to serve you to the best of my ..

Another Kind Of #1: The Usos Did Something For The First Time Ever At Summerslam

There’s a first time for everything. WWE presented its annual Summerslam event over the weekend, marking the thirty fifth edition of the show. As usual, the event was one of the biggest of the year and featured some of the top names in all of WWE. That means making it onto the card is a big deal, and it turns out that two of the people on the show did something no one has ever done before. One of the matches on the Summerslam card saw the Usos successfully defend the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Titles against the Street Profits. According to the Wrestling Stats & Info Twitter account, this marks the first time that a team has defended a Tag Team Title at consecutive Summerslams (not counting Kickoff Shows). The Usos defeated the Mysterios at Summerslam 2021 and have held the titles for over a year. Not counting kickoff matches, the @WWEUsos are the first duo in @WWE history to defend a tag team title at two consecutive #SummerSlam PPV events. — Wrestling Stats & Info (@WWEStats) July 31..

Who’s Next? WWE May Have One More Major Anniversary This Year

Join the club. We are in an interesting year when it comes to wrestling milestones. The year 2022 marks 20 years since the WWE debuts of people like John Cena, Rey Mysterio, Randy Orton, Brock Lesnar, Batista and more. That alone is enough to make the year historic, but at the same time are some other milestones that go back even further in history. WWE might be looking to celebrate something else. According to PWInsider.com, the September 23 SmackDown will be held in Salt Lake City, Utah. This will be one day after twenty five years to the day of Goldberg’s WCW debut on September 22, 1997, also in Salt Lake City. It is currently not clear if WWE is planning to do something to commemorate the event. Goldberg has not wrestle for WWE since February of this year. Opinion: I can see this one going either way, as WWE certainly loves presenting Goldberg as a major star, but at the same time, it would come a bit out of nowhere. Unless WWE is wanting to do something to set up another Goldber..

Hand It Over: Record Setting Title Reign Comes To An End In Upset

The gold it is a changing. There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world and some of them have a unique setup that allow for some variation. It can be nice to have something different, as you can only do so many things with a standard championship format. One of those titles changed hands this week, with a record setting reign coming to an end after a bit of an upset. The main event of this week’s NXT UK saw Mark Coffey defeat Noam Dar to win the NXT Heritage Cup. Coffey defeated Dar two falls to one in the sixth and final round. The win ends Dar’s reign after 259 days, the longest in the title’s history. Coffey’s title win marks the first singles title win of his NXT UK career, though he is a former NXT UK Tag Team Champion with Wolfgang. Opinion: This is something that had to happen and it makes sense given Gallus’ issues as of late. Coffey winning the title opens up some doors for him as he wins something of his own and might even set up a title match against his brother Joe do..

Hand Them Over: Surprise Title Change Takes Place On AEW Dynamite

There’s your history. AEW has not been around for very long when you think about it but they still have put together a rather nice history for themselves. A lot of this involves the titles that they have around and that makes for some rather important moments. Title changes can make all of the difference in the world for a wrestler and that was the case again this week. The main event of this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite saw Keith Lee and Swerve Strickland win the AEW Tag Team Titles, defeating Team Taz and reigning champions the Young Bucks. Strickland pinned Ricky Stars with the Swerve Stomp to win the titles. The win marks the first title in the company for either Strickland or Lee and ends the Bucks’ record third reign. Opinion: They got me with the surprise title change here and that is a very nice thing to see. You don’t get that kind of a title switch very often and AEW made it work well here. The Bucks losing any kind of a match always feels like a major deal and that was t..

Hand Them Over: Title Change Takes Place With Two New Champions Crowned

History has been made! There are a lot of titles under the WWE banner and all of them have at least some kind of value. It means something to win any championship around and someone winning their first title can be a game changer for their career. You have to start somewhere and that is the case again, as a pair of wrestlers have picked up their first gold in the company. This week on NXT UK, Ashton Smith and Oliver Carter defeated Die Familie and Moustache Mountain to win the NXT UK Tag Team Titles when Smith pinned Trent Seven. The win marks the first title in WWE for both Smith and Carter. The team had been chasing the titles for several weeks, with Moustache Mountain cheating to retain the titles in their previous successful title defense. Opinion: At some point, you have to go with the title change to make some new stars and that is what they did here. Smith and Carter have been one of the hottest teams in NXT UK for a long time now and they finally won the titles to pay it off...
