Former AEW Star Announces Awesome Career Move

It’s a different career. Professional wrestlers are very talented people. You don’t get to the top level of your profession without a good deal of skill and that is often on display. However, it does not mean that wrestling is the only thing these wrestlers can do well, though you do not get to see it very often. Now though, you might be seeing someone getting to showcase their talents in another way. Lio Rush has announced that he has signed a deal with the Universal Music Group, Thump Records and Virgin Music. There is no word on what this means for Rush or if he will be releasing an album or singles in the near future. Rush had previously stepped away from the ring to work on music before returning. AEW Star Announces His Contract Is Expiring, To Become A Free Agent

You could book him too. The last few years have seen some big changed to the wrestling world. AEW’s debut and immediate rise to the second highest spot in the industry has opened up a very big stage for several wrestlers. Wrestlers who might not fit in WWE now have a new place to go, but this time around an AEW wrestler seems ready to ply his trade elsewhere. AEW’s Lio Rush has announced that his contract with the company will expire on February 14, making him a free agent. There is no word on if Rush is interested in re-signing with AEW, as his tweet includes contact information for independent bookings. Rush debuted with the company in September and has only wrestled four matches since arriving. Most of Rush’s time in AEW has been spent as Dante Martin’s manager before Martin joined Team Taz. AEW Wrestlers Respond To Tony Khan’s Controversial Comments

It was going to get people talking. AEW has been a complete game changer in the wrestling world and that has been a good thing. The company is led by President Tony Khan, who has been a force in wrestling since he entered the industry. However, like everyone else, Khan is going to have some controversial moments. That was the case last week and now we are seeing the response. Late last week, former AEW star Big Swole spoke about some of her issues with the company on her Swole Nation podcast. Several over her comments criticized AEW’s lack of diversity in management positions and in prominent roles on television. Khan responded, listing off people of color in the company and saying that he let Swole go because he did not think her wrestling abilities were good enough. Stick around. Wrestlers have a weird career trajectory as you don’t always know when someone is going to hang up their boots for good. Some wrestlers are going to announce their retirements and walk away, but others have a tendency to come back over and over. Another rather young wrestler is doing that as well, and now we have an explanation about why. Last week, AEW announced that Lio Rush had signed with the company. This came only a few months after Rush retired from wrestling, though he was fulfilling his contractual obligations with New Japan. Rush appeared on Vickie Guerrero’s Excuse Me podcast, where he explained why he continued wrestling for AEW. During the interview, Rush explained that his family took a financial hit due to his WWE release and his music career did not pan out as expected. Make sure you grab a name tag. AEW has a rather talented roster with a great mixture of wrestlers. There are veterans and legends, newcomers and rookies and some established names who are still on their way to the top of the industry. That makes for some great matchups and now AEW has brought in another name that you might be familiar with from what he has done before. During this week’s edition of AEW Dynamite, a vignette aired announcing that Lio Rush has signed a deal with the company. Rush has wrestled in AEW before, appearing at Double Or Nothing 2021, as well as in WWE, where he was the NXT Cruiserweight Champion. It’s another career. One of the more common issues with wrestlers is finding something to do once they leave the ring. Not everyone has something to fall back on once they retire and it can be kind of a mess when their career is over. Some wrestlers do have more of a plan though and that is the case with a mostly retired wrestler, as you will get to see later this month. Former WWE star Lio Rush has announced that he will be releasing a full album, called Not Found, on September 28. Rush has worked in music throughout his career as well as after he announced his retirement. Rush, 26, began releasing music in 2019 and has released two albums. He announced his retirement from wrestling in June of this year, but is still fulfilling contractual obligations for New Japan. Rush is multi-talented. WWE Had Interesting Plans For Adam Cole On The Main Roster

That was their plan? There have been a lot of moves on the WWE roster in recent months and those seem likely to continue in the future. Some of these are bigger than others as a few of them have seen big names moving away. In some cases that has been from NXT, which has quite a talented roster in its own right. Now we know what might have happened had one of the moves not taken place. Former NXT Champion Adam Cole made his AEW debut last Sunday at All Out. Other than a few cameo appearances, Cole never made a full time WWE main roster debut. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, there had been plans made to bring him up to the main roster, though not as a full time wrestler. The plan would have seen Keith Lee turn heel with Cole as his manager, albeit under a different name due to Michael Cole being on SmackDown. The pairing would have been similar to Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush with the monster protecting the loud mouthed manager. It is unclear how much Cole knew of these plans. Thi..

Maybe this time? Retirements in wrestling are a weird situation, as you never can tell when someone is going to actually be gone. Terry Funk made a career out of retirements, with his first retirement taking place in the early 1980s and spanning into the 2000s. Some wrestlers just cannot get out, but another one seems to be ready to hang it up for good. Again. Lio Rush has announced his retirement from wrestling via Twitter and Instagram. Rush said that it is time for him to move on, citing an injury that he suffered during an appearance at AEW’s Double Or Nothing last month. During the appearance, Rush suffered a separated AC joint in his shoulder, which will need time off to heal. As a result, Rush has decided to retire, while thanking everyone for giving him a chance. Once he is healed, he will make appearances for New Japan Pro Wrestling, where he is signed, to meet contractual obligations. Hang on a second. With so many wrestling promotions around the world today, it can be interesting to see where various top stars wind up. It is the kind of moment that can make for some cool moments, though you never know when someone might pop up. We saw a surprise appearance over the weekend, but it might not be something that is going to stick around. Last weekend, AEW presented Double Or Nothing, featuring the Casino Battle Royal. The final entrant in the match, the Joker, was Lio Rush, making his AEW debut. Rush lasted only a few minutes in the match before being eliminated by Matt Hardy without any eliminations of his own. That was a surprise. Just about two years ago, All Elite Wrestling held their first event with Double Or Nothing. The event has become their signature show and already has some traditions of its own. One of those is the Casino Battle Royal, which can feature a surprise entrant. That was the case again this year, as a former champion in WWE made their debut. Former WWE Cruiserweight Champion Lio Rush made his AEW debut during the Casino Battle Royal at AEW Double Or Nothing. Rush was the final entrant as the Joker but was eliminated from the match by Matt Hardy. Original Plans For Surprise Intercontinental Title Change In 2019

It would be a different way to go. While not the top championship in the company, the WWE Intercontinental Title has one of the deepest and more important legacies in all of wrestling. The title has been considered the workers’ title for most of its forty plus year existence and holding it is quite the honor. One surprising wrestler claims he was supposed to join the list. Every now and then, you find a pairing in wrestling that just works. Two people are put together and find some success that wouldn’t have been expected. That was the case with Bobby Lashley and Lio Rush, who fit together incredibly well with Rush as the annoying hype man and Lashley as the unstoppable monster. NXT Superstar and upcoming rap artist Lio Rush recently opened up to ESPN about putting his mistakes behind him as he looks to pursue his dreams and become a better man. Rush first explained how he got in contact with WWE: “He just told me to keep working hard. Keeping pushing. Good things happen to people who wait.’ He definitely noticed my hard work and the passion that I had to be a professional wrestler and be one of those top-tier athletes and top-tier wrestlers in the sports entertainment industry.
