She’s In: Former WWE And Impact Wrestling Star Makes Surprise AEW Debut

She’s in. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in the world today and several of them are able to be seen on national television on a regular basis. It can mean a lot for someone to get their chance on a bigger stage and occasionally that is exactly what you get to see. It was the case again this week, as a former WWE star made their official AEW debut with a target already in sight. It has to end at some point. Wrestlers have an interesting situation with retiring. While more mainstream athletes are able to hang it up at the end of a season, wrestlers have to pick and choose after an individual match. A lot of wrestlers have some trouble walking away, but now a former WWE star has made the decision and seems to be happy with what she is doing. Former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Taryn Terrell, also known as Tiffany during her time in WWE, has announced via her Instagram that she is retiring from wrestling. Terrell said that she was happy with her most recent run in the NWA, where she wanted to feel the rush of getting in the ring again. Terrell also mentioned that she is continuing with her stunt work. The NWA has also posted a message saying that Terrell will be missed. Terrell, 36, debuted in 2007 and is a former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion. How Close WWE And AEW Got To Working Together For DX Reunion Special

They had a request. The wrestling world has changed quite a bit since AEW became a new major promotion. For the first time in decades, WWE has major competition for television viewers and talent. That is not something they are used to but the two sides almost came together to do something special earlier this month. Now we know what might have been enough to make it work. Earlier this month, WWE presented the 25th anniversary of D-Generation X on the October 10 edition of Monday Night Raw. However, the segment did not include Billy Gunn, who is under contract to AEW. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the two companies did discuss Gunn being allowed to appear, with AEW President Tony Khan requesting WWE acknowledge that Gunn works for AEW. Multiple Title Changes Take Place In One Night

Hand them over. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they tell any fan who matters most on the show. Wrestlers with a large shiny title in their hands are going to be treated as a bigger deal than others and it can mean a lot when a title changes hands. That is what happened on one night, as multiple championships changed hands on a single show. Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event on Friday night where two championships changed hands. First up, Frankie Kazarian defeated Mike Bailey to win the X-Division Title for the sixth time. Later, the Death Dollz (Taya Valkyrie/Jessicka) defeated VXT (Chelsea Green/Deonna Purrazzo) to win the Knockouts Tag Team Titles for the first time. That’s not the great way to go. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in the last few years. After spending so much time as little more than a sideshow attraction, women’s wrestling eventually became a major part of WWE programming. The previous years were mainly focused on their appearances though, and now a former star is explaining just how bad things were. During an appearance on the Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE developmental star Angelina Love spoke about some things former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis said to her. This included suggesting that Love lose weight, by asking how she felt her height/weight ratio worked at 5’5 and 130lbs. Love said that she was too terrified to respond to anything Laurinaitis said to her. Love wrestled in WWE’s developmental system from 2004-2007 before moving on to Impact Wrestling. Now though, we might not be seeing one of them wrestling anymore as she is teasing her retirement. Wrestling legend Mickie James has hinted at her retirement from the ring on Twitter. Before the tournament brackets were revealed, fan asked James if she was going to be Asuka’s partner in the WWE Women’s Tag Team Title tournament. James responded by saying that she felt she was done in wrestling. Impact Wrestling Star Reveals She Is A Transgender Woman

That’s some rare company. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and it takes something special to make them stand out in the crowd. That is something that can be hard to figure out, though there are ways to do it without involving anything that is done in the ring. Now another star has taken a rather bold step that makes her all the rarer kind of wrestler today. During an interview with Breakfast Television In Canada, Impact Wrestling star Gisele Shaw revealed that she is a transgender woman. Shaw said that she made the announcement to be true to herself and wanting to love herself. Impact Wrestling has put out a statement praising Shaw, including a quote from Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace praising Shaw for being a role model. Shaw made her full time debut in Impact Wrestling in January. It was a busy night. Titles are the easiest concept to understand in all of wrestling. Someone has a shiny belt and it means that they are the best at what they do. Someone else is going to want to take it from them and the two will have a match as a result. A title change can mean a lot when it takes place and that is what happened on Saturday, with multiple titles changing hands. Impact Wrestling held its Rebellion 2022 event on Saturday night and three titles changed hands on the show. First up, Taya Valkyrie defeated Deonna Purrazzo to win the AAA Reina de Reinas Title, though Purrazzo’s Ring Of Honor Women’s Title was not on the line. That is rather specific. While WWE tends to dominate the wrestling landscape, there are several other wrestling promotions in the world. Some of them are rather established and have been around for a long time. These other promotions have some major names and talents who have been around for a long time. It is rather rare to see WWE interact with them, but it does happen occasionally. However, it seems that WWE had some specific rules in place about one such interaction. Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James appeared in this year’s women’s Royal Rumble match. James wore her Knockouts Title to the ring and was acknowledged as being part of the Impact Wrestling. According to Will Washington on Fightful Grapsody, while WWE brought James in, there were several rules about her appearance. Two Reigning Champions Turn Down Offer To Make Royal Rumble Returns

They’ll pass, thanks. We are less than a week away from the Royal Rumble and that means the card is mostly put together. The show will be built around the show’s namesake matches, in which thirty wrestlers each will vie for a title shot at WrestleMania 38. Those are some very lucrative and appealing possibilities, but it seems there are some people not interested in competing. According to Fightful Select, Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee, formerly known as Billie Kay and Peyton Royce, turned down offers to return for the Royal Rumble. The team, who wrestled in WWE as the IIconics, were released from the company last year and have since moved to Impact Wrestling, where they are the Knockouts Tag Team Champions. You need some surprises. We are less than three weeks away from the Royal Rumble, which will feature two of the show’s namesake matches. That means sixty wrestlers will appear in the Royal Rumbles, with thirty men and thirty women taking part. Several of the wrestlers will be announced in advance, but that will not be the case for everyone. This may include one big surprise. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE is considering bringing in at least one unexpected participant in the men’s Royal Rumble match. This would be someone brought in through the “Forbidden Door”, meaning a wrestler from another promotion. There is no word on who it would be or which promotion they would be coming from. There is most of the field. We are less than a month away from the Royal Rumble and that means it is time to start getting the fields put together. There are sixty slots to be filled and only a handful of names have already been announced. That can make for some interesting announcements and we got a ton of them all in a row, including more than one Hall of Famer, and a big surprise. It’s not for everyone. While it might not be the most popular at times, there is no denying that WWE is the biggest wrestling promotion in the world. The promotion is still the end goal for a lot of wrestlers, with several of them working as hard as they can to make it to the big leagues. That is not the case for everyone though, and that was the case with a fairly prominent name from outside the company. During a recent edition of her Wilde On podcast, former Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champions Taylor Wilde revealed that she was contacted by WWE to appear in the first Mae Young Classic. Wilde had been retired from the ring for six years but agreed to return to the ring for the chance. However, she got injured in training, meaning that she was unable to return to the ring. The company has been very successful due to the mixture of talent that they have assembled, which continues to grow week by week. A lot of wrestlers want to be part of the company, but this time someone wants to borrow one of its top wrestlers. In a new interview with Fightful, Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Deonna Purrazzo said that she wants to team with AEW Women’s Champion Britt Baker to challenge for the Impact Wrestling Knockouts Tag Team Titles. Purrazzo mentioned that she had spoken to Impact Wrestling and AEW executives Scott D’Amore and Tony Khan about making this happen. WATCH: New Name Announced For Wrestling Hall Of Fame

That’s a special one. There are all kinds of awards and accomplishments that can be won during a wrestler’s career, but it is rare to see anything that acknowledges their entire career. A championship reign usually only looks at a small portion of their career, as the title reign will end one day. It means a lot to see someone’s entire career recognized and that is the case again. Over the weekend at Knockouts Knockdown, Impact Wrestling announced that Awesome Kong will be inducted into the company’s Hall of Fame at Bound For Glory on October 23. Christy Hemme returned to announce the induction, with Kong appearing and dedicating her induction to Daffney, who passed away last month. Kong wrestled for Impact Wrestling in multiple stints, where she is a two time Knockouts Champion and a one time Knockouts Tag Team Champion. The advent of the internet and streaming technology has made it a lot easier to see far more wrestling than at any point before, which has allowed more promotions to become a bit more prominent. Now one of them is getting a big name back in the ring. Former WWE Women’s and Impact Wrestling Knockouts Champion Mickie James has released a video on Instagram, announcing that she will be returning to the ring at the NWA 73rd Anniversary Show on August 29. No opponent has been announced. This will be the day after the all women NWA Empowerrr show, with James serving as executive producer.
