She’s in. There are a lot of talented wrestlers in the world today and several of them are able to be seen on national television on a regular basis. It can mean a lot for someone to get their chance on a bigger stage and occasionally that is exactly what you get to see. The AEW World Championship match with Jon Moxely defending the title against MJF was a rare instance of being so unpredictable that anything could happen. There was speculation after Wednesday’s final segment on Dynamite, which had William Regal in the middle of the frame between MJF and Jon Moxely. Fare Thee Well: Former WWE Star Officially Announces Retirement
It has to end at some point. Wrestlers have an interesting situation with retiring. While more mainstream athletes are able to hang it up at the end of a season, wrestlers have to pick and choose after an individual match. A lot of wrestlers have some trouble walking away, but now a former WWE star has made the decision and seems to be happy with what she is doing. Former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Taryn Terrell, also known as Tiffany during her time in WWE, has announced via her Instagram that she is retiring from wrestling. Terrell said that she was happy with her most recent run in the NWA, where she wanted to feel the rush of getting in the ring again. Terrell also mentioned that she is continuing with her stunt work. How Close WWE And AEW Got To Working Together For DX Reunion Special
They had a request. The wrestling world has changed quite a bit since AEW became a new major promotion. For the first time in decades, WWE has major competition for television viewers and talent. That is not something they are used to but the two sides almost came together to do something special earlier this month. Now we know what might have been enough to make it work. Earlier this month, WWE presented the 25th anniversary of D-Generation X on the October 10 edition of Monday Night Raw. However, the segment did not include Billy Gunn, who is under contract to AEW. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the two companies did discuss Gunn being allowed to appear, with AEW President Tony Khan requesting WWE acknowledge that Gunn works for AEW. They have their eye on her. There have been a lot of stars returning to WWE in recent months and it makes for some fascinating moments. It means something when a star comes back to the company as you wonder where they are going to go or do now that they are back. Now WWE seems interested in bringing another former star back into the fold after an absence. According to the WrestleVotes Twitter account, WWE is interested in bringing back Chelsea Green. There is no definitive word on what kind of deal, but it is believed that it would be for the main roster. Hand them over. Titles are some of the most important things in all of wrestling as they tell any fan who matters most on the show. Wrestlers with a large shiny title in their hands are going to be treated as a bigger deal than others and it can mean a lot when a title changes hands. That is what happened on one night, as multiple championships changed hands on a single show. Impact Wrestling held its annual Bound For Glory event on Friday night where two championships changed hands. That’s not the great way to go. Women’s wrestling has come a very long way in the last few years. After spending so much time as little more than a sideshow attraction, women’s wrestling eventually became a major part of WWE programming. The previous years were mainly focused on their appearances though, and now a former star is explaining just how bad things were. During an appearance on the Cafe de Rene podcast, former WWE developmental star Angelina Love spoke about some things former WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis said to her. This included suggesting that Love lose weight, by asking how she felt her height/weight ratio worked at 5’5 and 130lbs. Impact Wrestling Star Reveals She Is A Transgender Woman
That’s some rare company. There are a lot of wrestlers in the world today and it takes something special to make them stand out in the crowd. That is something that can be hard to figure out, though there are ways to do it without involving anything that is done in the ring. Now another star has taken a rather bold step that makes her all the rarer kind of wrestler today. During an interview with Breakfast Television In Canada, Impact Wrestling star Gisele Shaw revealed that she is a transgender woman. Shaw said that she made the announcement to be true to herself and wanting to love herself. Impact Wrestling has put out a statement praising Shaw, including a quote from Knockouts Champion Jordynne Grace praising Shaw for being a role model. Update On Scary Crash At Impact Wrestling Slammiversary
That could have been worse. Injuries are a part of wrestling that are never going to be completely eradicated no matter what. The amount of experience and training a wrestler has can only make them so safe as someone always has the chance to get hurt. There are some things that are inherently dangerous no matter what and that was the case this weekend. This weekend’s Impact Wrestling Slammiversary event featured the first ever Queen Of The Mountain match. During the match, Chelsea Green and Deonna Purrazzo were shoved off a ladder and out of the ring, sending them through a table. According to PWInsider.com, both Green and Purrazzo are ok after their crash and are not expected to miss any time from the ring. Jordynne Grace won the match to regain the Knockouts Title. It was a busy night. Titles are the easiest concept in wrestling because anyone gets the idea of someone wearing a shiny belt. You can easily figure out the idea and it is a simple match to set up: someone has a title and someone else wants it. That makes title changes some of the most important parts of a wrestling promotion and there were quite a few of them this weekend. Impact Wrestling held their Slammiversary pay per view over the weekend, marking the company’s twentieth anniversary. There were five title matches on the show with four titles changing hands. While it’s true that their matches are predetermined, they are still out there putting in the work and the effort every single night and that takes a lot of talent. It can help wrestling quite a bit when a mainstream athlete shows up and now that might be the case again soon. On Saturday, boxing’s Heavyweight Champion of the World Tyson Fury retained his title via knockout over Dillian Whyte. After the fight, Fury suggested that he was ready to retire from the sport and move on to something else. During the post fight media scrum, Fury mentioned that he might be appearing at Summerslam. Fury said that he had a great time when he appeared at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia and would love to be at the Cardiff, Wales event in September.
