While more mainstream athletes are able to hang it up at the end of a season, wrestlers have to pick and choose after an individual match. A lot of wrestlers have some trouble walking away, but now a former WWE star has made the decision and seems to be happy with what she is doing. Former WWE and Impact Wrestling star Taryn Terrell, also known as Tiffany during her time in WWE, has announced via her Instagram that she is retiring from wrestling. Terrell said that she was happy with her most recent run in the NWA, where she wanted to feel the rush of getting in the ring again. Terrell also mentioned that she is continuing with her stunt work. History has been made! There are a lot of titles in the wrestling world today and some of them have been around for a very long time. However, there are also some that do not have the same kind of history as they have not had the same length of time to be built up. Those titles have to be built up over the years and now one of them is gaining another rung in its history. The WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles changed hands this week on Monday Night Raw, with Alexa Bliss and Asuka defeating Damage Ctrl’s Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai to win the titles when Bliss pinned Sky with Twisted Bliss. The win marks Bliss and Asuka’s first reign as champions and their third individual title reign each. Damage Ctrl’s loss ended their reign at 49 days after they won the titles on the September 12 Monday Night Raw. Opinion: This is the kind of title change that the championships need. Things are looking up. To say WWE is in a state of flux would be a huge understatement as there have been all kinds of changes taking place in the last few weeks. Those changes could have some very long term implications for the company and some individual people, but how positive they are remain to be seen. According to PWInsider.com, this week’s Monday Night Raw from Madison Square Garden was a sellout and had been for several days before the event. AEW owner Tony Khan purchased Ring Of Honor earlier this year and now we might know something about what he is doing with it. Ring Of Honor returned from a several month hiatus in April, with its annual Supercard of Honor event. Maybe he’ll swing by. There have been a lot of moves throughout the major wrestling rosters in recent years and there is nothing to suggest that those changes are ending. It can be fascinating to see who goes where and what happens to them, though it can be equally interesting to speculate on what is happening. That seems to be the case again, mainly due to a new piece of merchandise. AEW’s official online store is now selling an art print by former NXT star Sam Shaw (better known as Dexter Lumis). Welcome to the team. There are a lot of people on the WWE roster, to the point where WWE can break them up into multiple groups. That includes individual rosters for Monday Night Raw, SmackDown and NXT. It can mean a lot when someone moves from one roster to the other, especially after it is a long time in the making. We got to see it again this week with a major name. This week on Monday Night Raw, Tommaso Ciampa was officially announced as the newest member of the roster. Ciampa appeared in a backstage segment where Ezekiel welcomed him to the show before Kevin Owens came in to yell at Ezekiel. This comes after Ciampa wrestled his last match in NXT at Stand & Deliver. He has wrestled on Monday Night Raw on occasion in the past, but always as part of the NXT roster. Opinion: This is the kind of move that you knew was coming but it is still a bit weird to see. That’s a theory. The rise of AEW has done a lot of great things for the wrestling industry, but it has also brought back some nostalgia. For the first time in a very good while, there is another major wrestling promotion to compete with WWE. This has caused many fans to take sides between the two, but now some of them are being accused of being a bit less than genuine in their fandom. AEW President Tony Khan has sent out a series of tweets, stating that an independent study has found that “much” of the anti-AEW online community is made up of bots rather than actual people. Khan said that someone is running a fleet of accounts which do nothing but retweet negative statements about AEW. Khan did not cite any data or say who conducted the study. On Saturday night at WrestleMania 38, WWE announced that WrestleMania 39 will again take place over two nights, this time at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California on April 1 and April 2, 2023. This will be the fourth straight year that Wrestlemania has been a two night event and the first WrestleMania in California since WrestleMania 31 back in 2015. That’s quite a long time. The Coronavirus pandemic changed the way a lot of things worked in the world, including in the wrestling industry. While WWE was shaken up, they were able to continue moving forward thanks to their access to the Performance Center, where Monday Night Raw and SmackDown took place for several months. However, it turns out that things were a lot more difficult than they seemed. Former WWE referee discussed WWE’s time in the Performance Center during his Monday Mailbag Forum this week, where he revealed that some Performance Center matches took hours to shoot. The process involved starting a match, cutting the camera, filming the next piece of the match, and then splicing the material together.
