Impact Wrestling Results – December 8, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: December 8, 2022 Location: Old Paristown Hall, Louisville, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt The slow build towards Hard To Kill continues as we still have over a month to go before the show. That means a lot more Bully Ray, who dominated the first fourth of last week’s show and will probably be around again this week. Other than that, it might be nice to hear some more from the World Champion Josh Alexander, so let’s get to it. We look at Deaner killing Eric Young off last week. Deaner talks about how Violent By Design is a movement, not a group of people. Now it is time to take out Sami Callihan. Opening sequence. Tag Team Titles: Motor City Machine Guns vs. Heath/Rhino Heath/Rhino are defending. Rhino powers Sabin around to start but Sabin is up with a middle rope spinning crossbody for two. Heath comes in and gets his arm worked over but manages to send Shelley into the corner. Shelley charges into a raised boot in the corner, only to..

Two Title Changes Take Place During The Same Show

There go two of them. Titles are the most important things in wrestling as they identify the biggest stars in any given promotion. Any fan understands the idea of a wrestler holding a shiny gold belt and holding it can mean a lot. It can also mean quite a bit when a title changes hands, which was the case this week, albeit in two rather different fashions entirely. Two titles changed hands this week on Impact Wrestling. First, Frankie Kazarian vacated the X-Division Title he won at Bound For Glory via Option C, earning himself a World Title shot against Josh Alexander. Later in the show, Honor No More’s Matt Taven and Mike Bennett lost the Tag Team Titles to Heath and Rhino. This comes after Taven and Bennett made their AEW debuts last week on Rampage. Opinion: That is quite the eventful night and you do not see something like this happen very often. Kazarian had announced that he was going to be vacating the title last week so there was only so much surprise. It was similarly true o..

Impact Wrestling Results – April 28, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: April 28, 2022 Location: Majed J. Nesheiwat Convention Center, Poughkeepsie, New York Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt We’re done with Rebellion and the big story is that Josh Alexander got the World Title back from Moose in a heck of a main event. Other than that, we are less than two weeks away from Under Siege and need to get a card together pretty fast. Odds are we’ll be seeing a bunch of rematches so let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Rebellion in rapid fashion. Opening sequence. Here is Violent By Design for a chat. Eric Young talks about desiring power and control, and that is exactly what they went and got. Now they have defeated seven teams and are the permanent Tag Team Champions. If you are being honest, their success shouldn’t surprise you and there is no team anywhere that can take them down. Cue Heath and Rhino to say they want the Tag Team Titles but here are the Briscoes to interrupt. Jay says Dem Boys are in the house an..

An Infamous WWE Stable Had A Very Different Original Plan

It isn’t how he drew it up. Stables have been a constant factor in wrestling for a very long time, with some of the most famous names in wrestling history having been a part of one at some point. They are an easy to understand concept and allow multiple wrestlers to get television time at once. There have been some rather memorable ones over the years, but one of them was envisioned very different. Heath Slater appeared on Stories With Brisco And Bradshaw and discussed the origins of 3MB. Slater came up with the idea of putting a stable together with him, originally wanting Johnny Curtis (better known as Fandango), Dean Ambrose and EC3 on the team. After pitching the three names, he was told that WWE already had plans for Ambrose and Curtis and that EC3 wasn’t happening. Three weeks later, Slater was told that Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal would be his band instead, as that is what Vince McMahon wanted. The team debuted on September 21, 2012 until June 12, 2014 when Mahal and McIntyr..

REVIEW: Sacrifice 2022: It’s Much Better When You Can Actually See It

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Sacrifice 2022 Date: March 5, 2022 Location: Paristown Hall, Louisville, Kentucky Commentators: Tom Hannifan, Matthew Rehwoldt This is the month’s Impact Plus special and the card is looking decent. There are a ton of title matches, capped off by Heath of all people getting the World Title shot. If that isn’t your thing, there are three Women’s Title matches, plus a hoss fight between Jonah and PCO. Let’s get to it. Note that I was in attendance for the show, sitting in the balcony. That being said, I barely saw ..

Former World Champion Makes Surprise Return At Impact Wrestling: Sacrifice

Surprise surprise. There have been a lot of moves made from on almost every wrestling promotions roster in the last several months and all kinds of wrestlers have jumped from company to company. That has happened so often that it is almost strange to see someone stick around, but it does happen from time to time. It was the situation again this week when a big return went down. The main event of this weekend’s Impact Wrestling Sacrifice event saw Moose successfully defend the World Title against Heath. After the match was over, Josh Alexander made his return to the company after three weeks away, announcing that he had signed a new long term contract with Impact Wrestling. This came after Alexander’s previous contract had expired and he had returned to Canada. Alexander also said that he would be challenging for the World Title at Rebellion on April 23. Opinion: This is something that Impact Wrestling almost had to do as Alexander has been the centerpiece of the company for most of t..

Impact Wrestling Results – March 3, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: March 3, 2022 Location: Alario Center, Westwego, Louisiana Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan Somehow it’s already the go home show for Sacrifice and the card is mostly set. The big match on the show seems to be the Tag Team Title match as Moose defending the World Title against Heath is only so important. Odds are they will add one or two more things to the card tonight so let’s get to it. Opening recap. Opening sequence. Eddie Edwards vs. Steve Maclin Maclin starts the brawl in the aisle and they slug it out, with Maclin hitting a running knee. They go inside for the opening bell and Maclin punches him right back to the floor, setting up a hard suicide dive. Back in and Eddie grabs a Blue Thunder Bomb to take over but they trade running forearms for a double knockdown. They slug it out until Maclin hits a running clothesline but Eddie catches him on top with a running boot. Maclin knocks him into the Tree of Woe and hits the spear in the corner to..

REVIEW: NWA Smoky Mountain Summer Bash 2016: Like Calling The Hogs

Welcome to KB’s Old School (and New School) Reviews. I’ve been reviewing wrestling shows for over twelve years now and have reviewed over 6,000 shows. Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, I’ll be posting a new review here on Wrestlingrumors.net. It could be anything from modern WWE to old school to indies to anything in between. Note that I rate using letters instead of stars and I don’t rate matches under three minutes as really, how good or bad can something that short be? Summer Bash 2016 Date: June 24, 2016 Location: Evolution Sports Gym, Elizabethtown, Tennessee Commentators: Matt Rhodes, Mike Cooper, Heath Snead This is from NWA Smoky Mountain as I continue a trek through some random independent companies (or as independent as the NWA is). As usual, I have no idea what to expect from this show but it’s the NWA in Tennessee so you can imagine the fans are going to be pretty into the show. Let’s get to it. Keep in mind that I have no idea what is going on here from a storyline or..

Impact Wrestling Results – February 24, 2022

Impact Wrestling Date: February 24, 2022 Location: Alario Center, Westwego, Louisiana Commentators: Matthew Rehwoldt, Tom Hannifan It’s time for a fresh taping cycle as No Surrender has come and gone. The big story coming out of the show was Eddie Edwards turning on Impact Wrestling to join Honor No More, meaning he has a lot of splainin to do. Other than that, Moose needs a new challenger for Sacrifice on the way to Rebellion. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at the rise of Honor No More and the big showdown at No Surrender, where Eddie Edwards turned on the company. Opening sequence. Here is still World Champion Moose for a chat. Moose isn’t happy that he has worked so hard and fought so much but now all everyone is talking about is Eddie Edwards. He fought to retain the World Title and nothing changed. Look what happened to people like Josh Alexander and Matt Cardona after he beat them. The Lord knows what is going to happen to W. Morrissey now that he lost. Cue Heath o..

Dream Title Match Officially Set For WWE Elimination Chamber

I’d call it a dream match. The WWE Women’s Revolution changed the way the wrestling world worked in a great way. After so many years of women’s wrestling being treated as little more than a joke, it was becoming something a lot more interesting and important, which was certainly a big upgrade. The change would not have happened without the stage being set though, and now those two generations are clashing. This week’s Monday Night Raw ended with an unscheduled showdown between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Lita. After coming to the ring to confront her, Lita challenged Lynch to a title shot at Elimination Chamber on February 19. After initially backing down, Lynch agreed to the match. This will be Lita’s first WWE singles match since she defeated Heath Slater on the July 23, 2012 Monday Night Raw. Lita is a four time Women’s Champion and was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2014. She and Trish Stratus were the first women to main event an episode of Monday Night Raw, with..

Wrestler Appears On WWE And AEW TV In The Same Week

Double payday. The wrestling world has changed quite a bit, as there is now more content available than ever before. One of the biggest reasons for this is the arrival of AEW, which has become the second biggest wrestling promotion in the world in just a few years of existence. The company allows wrestlers another place to go, and that was certainly the case for a specific wrestler this week. Independent wrestler Leo Sparrow appeared on both WWE Monday Night Raw and AEW Rampage this week. Sparrow wrestled in a loss to Omos on Monday Night Raw and appeared in a music video from the Acclaimed on Rampage. Sparrow shared a photo of both appearances on Twitter. This is not the first time someone has done this, as Kelsey Heather did the same in July 2021. The #SonOfTheSun was on #WWERAW AND #AEWRampage this week ??? pic.twitter.com/8T6vJ1Dpa3 — Leo Sparrow (@NoSteakAllSizzl) January 15, 2022 Opinion: That is the kind of thing you don’t get to see very often and it must be a thrill for Sp..

More On Ring Of Honor’s Impact Wrestling Invasion

This could be the start of something big. The wrestling world has been changing in a lot of different ways over the last several months, with one of the biggest changes being the end of the original Ring of Honor. The promotion let all of its contracted workers go, meaning they are now available to work elsewhere. A large group of them might have found a new home, and now we might know something more about them. This weekend, Impact Wrestling’s Hard To Kill pay per view included an invasion by a group of former Ring of Honor wrestlers. Matt Taven, Vincent, PCO, Mike Bennett and Maria Kanellis all appeared, with all but Kanellis attacking Eddie Edwards, Rhino, Heath, Rich Swann and Willie Mack. According to PWInsider.com, neither Taven, Vincent, PCO nor Bennett are currently under contract to Ring of Honor. Kanellis’ contract status is unclear but she will be part of the group in Impact Wrestling. It was a big moment. Check out who is coming to Impact Wrestling: [This post contains v..

Ring Of Honor Invades Impact Wrestling Hard To Kill

Nice to meet you? There have been a lot of changes in the wrestling world over the last year and some of those changes have been rather important to say the least. One of the biggest has been the end of the original era for Ring of Honor, as the company is going into hiatus. Those wrestlers are going to have to go somewhere though, and now we know where some of them seem to have landed. This weekend, Impact Wrestling presented their annual Hard To Kill event. Following the Hardcore War between Violent By Design and Eddie Edwards/Rich Swann/Willie Mack/Heath/Rhino, a group of Ring of Honor wrestlers appeared and attacked Edwards and company. This included PCO, Matt Taven, Mike Bennett and Vincent, accompanied by Maria Kanellis. There is no word on if more Ring of Honor wrestlers will be joining them in the future, though the show did feature a match for the Ring of Honor World Title, with Jonathan Gresham retaining against Chris Sabin. We sense there is a little invasion going on here..

Impact Wrestling Results – May 27, 2021

Impact Wrestling Date: May 27, 2021 Location: Skyway Studios, Nashville, Tennessee Commentators: Josh Matthews, D’Lo Brown We’re on the way to Against All Odds and that means we are going to be seeing more of Moose vs. Kenny Omega as they set up their World Title match. I’m kind of curious to see the match, even though I don’t quite see a ton of drama involved. Hopefully they can live up to the hype and we can get some more matches set up this week. Let’s get to it. The opening recap looks at Heath being involved in the Call Your Shot gauntlet match at Bound For Glory, with Rhino ultimately winning. Then last week, Rhino cashed in the contract to win the Tag Team Titles with Violent By Design. Eric Young says that the change was foretold and last week it came to pass. Now they prove that it is real. Opening sequence. Here is Sami Callihan to have a seat in the ring for a chat. Callihan isn’t happy with what Kenny Omega has done around here because Omega and the Good Brothers have ..

Heath Offers An Injury Update After Bound For Glory Accident

It could be worse. You never know when you are going to see an injury in wrestling and oftentimes it can be a rather bad situation. Sometimes what looks to be something simple is actually a much more serious injury and the wrestler could be out of action for a long time. Thankfully a recent one does not seem to be as bad as it could have been and we have a somewhat positive update. Last week at Impact Wrestling’s Bound For Glory, Heath, formerly known as Heath Slater in WWE, was part of the Call Your Shot gauntlet. During the match, Heath suffered some sort of injury and was left laying on the mat for a long stretch. It seems that Heath was supposed to win the match but wound up having to be eliminated due to his injury. Now we know a bit more about what happened and how bad it was. Heath has made a post to Instagram with an update on his health status. During the match, Heath suffered a severe inguinal injury, a partially torn abductor muscle and a slight groin tear. Heath will not ..

Monday Night Raw Live Coverage And Results – September 14, 2020

Monday Night Raw Date: September 14, 2020 Location: Amway Center, Orlando, Florida Commentators: Michael Cole, Byron Saxton, Dolph Ziggler We are less than two weeks away from Clash Of Champions but more importantly this is In Your Face Raw, which is no way their big show to counter the debut of Monday Night Football. Therefore, the question here is how far do they get blown back to the Stone Age in terms of the ratings and viewership. Let’s get to it. Opening sequence. Dolph Ziggler is on commentary for the opening preview. Here’s Drew McIntyre to open things up, now with the sound of a sword being pulled out of a sheath because that’s a thing WWE loves. We see a long recap of the exchange of kicks to the head over the last few years. Back in the arena, McIntyre says that Orton should be lucky that his head is still on his head. McIntyre has been told that because of his fractured jaw, he needs to take some time off. However, that means vacating the WWE Championship so that isn’t ..

RUMOR: What Led To Heath Slater’s WWE Return

He did what he said. Like any other wrestling company, WWE’s roster is going to change at a fairly rapid rate. At one point or another, someone is going to leave and be replaced by another wrestler. That may or may not be an upgrade, but what matters the most is seeing where things go and having a good time. This week, a recently departed wrestler made a cameo return and it was for a good reason. During this week’s Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler brought out Heath Slater, who had been released from the company back in April, to confront Drew McIntyre. After McIntyre defeated Slater in less than thirty seconds, the two of them hugged in what seemed to be Slater’s farewell to the show. It was a bit of a sad moment but at least Slater did get to have a sendoff. So how did he get it? According to Tom Colohue of SportsKeeda.com, Slater’s return was due to McIntyre requesting the match since he became WWE Champion in April. While Slater was released less than two weeks after McIntyre won t..

New Grudge Match Added To Elimination Chamber Card

There’s still time for more. You might have forgotten about it, but we are less than two days away from Elimination Chamber. The show has not exactly had the strongest build in the world, mainly because for a time, it was one of three shows that WWE was building towards at the same time. That hasn’t turned out very well so far, as WWE is still putting the show together at the last minute. Over the last few weeks, Daniel Bryan has been working with some people not quite on his level. This has included Heath Slater and Curtis Axel, but the main person seems to be Drew Gulak. The story has allowed some people to get on television for a change and that is a good thing for them. There needs to be something that comes out of it though, and we will be seeing that on Sunday. This week on SmackDown, Gulak was explaining to Drake Maverick that he knew Bryan’s weaknesses. Bryan came up and challenged Gulak to a match at Elimination Chamber. Later in the night, Gulak accepted the challenge on hi..

Welcome Back! Former Tag Team Reunites Before Monday Night Raw.

Good to see you again. This week on Monday Night Raw, Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode won a Tag Team Turmoil match to become the new #1 contenders for the Raw Tag Team Titles. Their title shot will come at Clash Of Champions against new champions Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman, who won the titles in their first match as a team. It is clear that WWE is paying attention to tag teams, which makes another development more understandable. According to Wrestlinginc.com, Heath Slater and Titus O’Neil wrestled in a match during this week’s Main Event tapings, defeating Eric Young and Mojo Rawley before Monday Night Raw went on the air. Slater and O’Neil teamed together as Slater Gator from late 2014 until early 2015 with little success. There is no reason to believe that this is anything more than a one off match instead of a full time reunion. They were kind of legendary. Check out one of their rather amusing promos, complete with a mascot: [This post contains video, click to play] Opinio..

Rumor: Jinder Mahal Working Injured

Last year, WWE officials used Jinder Mahal as the centerpiece for the company to make a major push into the Indian market. Out of nowhere, Mahal won the WWE Title and he received a strong push on SmackDown Live until it was decided AJ Styles was a stronger choice to lead the brand. As a result, Jinder Mahal was thrust back into WWE’s midcard. After the extremely lackluster feud against Roman Reigns, Mahal has been stuck in feud after feud without much momentum. Most recently, he has been featured in Christmas segments with Heath Slater. There’s nothing wrong with this role, but for someone who was the WWE Champion just a year ago, that’s a massive step down with the company. Related: WWE Officials Blame Jinder Mahal For Lackluster Roman Reigns Feud According to a report from RingSideNews, Jinder Mahal has been looking injured for a while. The injury doesn’t seem to be bad enough to put him on the shelf. However, a lot of people have noticed his work in the ring is suffering as a resu..
